Also, Bioshock is a horror game. By first impressions this sort of looks like a comedy. Why attach Bioshock to the name if it is completely different?
Horror? Maybe the hospital, but the game felt more like a thriller than a horror.
Bull-fuckin'-shit that's Bioshock. Looking at it and reading on the plot, it looks and sounds more like a Final Fantasy game.
Oh look, here's the guy who bitches about Gearbox!
My bitching amounted to something more than an elitistic shitfit about consoles being inferior to the glorious PC though.
Also, Bioshock is a horror game. By first impressions this sort of looks like a comedy. Why attach Bioshock to the name if it is completely different?
BioShock was hardly a horror game IMO, the only time it made me jump was when a Splicer jumped out of a freezer. BioShock was more focused on creating an immersive atmosphere that made you feel like you actually were in Rapture at that moment, and not in front of your console/PC with a joystick/keyboard and mouse in your hands. Cheap scares and enemies jumping out of dark places often break that immersion.
At least you know what's inside the big daddies now, nothing but organs (I think this was explained before but now we actually got to SEE it)
They're not Big Daddies, the games aren't in the same narrative.
They basically took out everything I loved out of the first 2 Bioshocks. No water and no dark atmousphere (apparently).
So instead of objectivism we get patriotism?
At least you know what's inside the big daddies now, nothing but organs (I think this was explained before but now we actually got to SEE it)
Big daddies are normal humans with a mind-control gel inside their helmets (the yellow stuff that turns red when angry). Their suits are fused to their skin.
I don't really know what to think of this yet. Doesn't really seem "Bioshock" to me. I think I'm gonna need to see more first.
At least you know what's inside the big daddies now, nothing but organs (I think this was explained before but now we actually got to SEE it)
Actually Big Daddies are just mind controlled humans bloated to the shape of the suit due to all of the tonics used.
RDR era in a steampunk style air city? I like it a lot more than Rapture IMO.
Me too. Me fucking too. I loved Bioshock, but I didn't get Bioshock 2 because I just didn't want to go through Rapture again. I can't wait for this. Can't fucking wait
if this is a prequel i feel like the story will be something like the city in the sky failed, so they tried to make an underwater utopia, also failing. and this is its story. i dunno.
Looks alright, but why is this even in the bioshock series They should just call it "Infinite"
Confirmed, this game has absolutely nothing to do with Rapture.
if this is a prequel i feel like the story will be something like the city in the sky failed, so they tried to make an underwater utopia, also failing. and this is its story. i dunno.
The stories are not connected.

Just a small thing for people who says this is not Bioshock. Do you know about a JRPG series called Shin Megami Tensei? And that they are the longest running, most successful JRPG series? And also that they didn't released a single game from the main series in 6 years, and that all games they released since them were spin-offs and pretty freaking good? Yeah, all i have to say is, I like the direction this is taking, since I love steampunk, so i will wait and see how this turns out.
If the plot of this game is 'the protagonists need to escape', why don't they just get a fucking parachute.
Wasn't the whole point of Rapture to be a place isolated from the prying influence of international government? This must be the greatest sore thumb ever conceived. Sometimes jumping the shark isn't enough, sometimes you need to build a Hindenburg-ville several miles above it.
I won't judge it too much yet but... I don't know without the splicers, water, and plasmids it won't really be a bioshock game. I'm sure it'll be fun in it's own way.
If the plot of this game is 'the protagonists need to escape', why don't they just get a fucking parachute.
I think maybe he's looking for sombody or somthing. Get what you were looking for then escape kind of thing.
Just a small thing for people who says this is not Bioshock.
If the plot of this game is 'the protagonists need to escape', why don't they just get a fucking parachute.
The plot is "Go into the city and save some bitch, then escape." Regardless of whether or not he has a parachute, he stills has to get the chick first.
This looks fucking awesome. I really don't understand how you can argue this is nothing like Bioshock. The main theme in Bioshock (as I see it) was this incredible, ridiculous city hidden from rest of the world, rejecting everyone elses politics and letting only certain people in. This is basically the antithesis of Rapture. It's exploring the theme in a fantastic way. They couldn't have had another sequal based in Rapture... Bioshock 2 was a huge mistake, especially casting you as a fucking big daddy.
Well it's no longer hidden, now is it?
If the plot of this game is 'the protagonists need to escape', why don't they just get a fucking parachute.
I don't think there were parachutes in 1912. Then again there weren't cities suspended on hot air balloons either. But the protagonist has to save a girl (the one in the teaser I assume) but she's a prisoner. I guess the end will be diving out of the city or stealing a plane. Or dying horribly.
I think they need to drop the Bioshock in the name. I seems to me like i think of most series that go beyond a second game, without time and effort, to be just milking a series of every possible penny. For example Halo 3 and newer, MW2(In my opinion any after MW1).
Well it's no longer hidden, now is it?
You mean the city? Because that was never meant to be hidden.
Halo 3 was a good game. :colbert:
I wouldn't say it was good, but not bad either. I liked it a lot more then Halo 2, but that's not saying much. All we've seen is yet another prerendered teaser trailer, some screenshots, and a little demo description. People should hawk less about the theme and more about gameplay specifics.
You mean the city? Because that was never meant to be hidden.
What city are you talking about?
God damn that was cool. That was AMAZINGLY epic. Goddamnit I need this.
