Buncha whining babies in this thread. Irrational Games tries to do something that relates to Bioshock in concept and all of the kids come out of the woodwork to complain that it isn't scawwy enough. Irrational Games does not cater to you. :colbert:
So, erm. . . Big Grandpa?
Heavy Rain, etc.. Those were actual plots, in which things actually occurred within the game instead of the plot being spoonfed to you in a handful of cutscenes..
Wait, you're complaining about the twist being contrived when one of your examples of a good story is Heavy Rain?
Wait, you're complaining about the twist being contrived when one of your examples of a good story is Heavy Rain?
Dude there were like 16 stories and I haven't played through all of them. I'm sure at least some of them are bad.
Dude there were like 16 stories and I haven't played through all of them. I'm sure at least some of them are bad.
Heavy Rain was one long cutscene. That was the point of it. Comparing Bioshock to Heavy Rain is like comparing PB&J to a pile of dog shit. You just can't do it without sounding like an idiot.
From what's on Wikipedia and on other previews you can assume that there's only one "big daddy" now?
Elizabeth (I stole your image, Max. Many thanks)
DeWitt accepts the mission, which will be ours as a player: to rescue Elizabeth.
Eleanor
You must save your original little sister, Eleanor, and escape from the fallen nightmare of Rapture.
Guys, something ain't right, here. There's two of her, and it scares me.
From what's on Wikipedia and on other previews you can assume that there's only one "big daddy" now?
And a bunch of old men with funny red-white-and blue pants.
Old men that shoot crows. Out of their eyes.
I like how it's a complete opposite of Bioshock. Bioshock was deep underwater, dark and gritty. While BS:Infinite is up in the sky and is much more bright and has pretty colors and stuff like that. It will be a fun change in my opinion. I've had enough of the underwater Rapture. I defiantly would not want a third game based in Rapture.
So, three games is milking? Video games would suck if you were in charge.
You telling me that if _insert game company_ released game X one year, Game X2 the next and X3 the year after, You wouldn't think that their trying to get what they can out of it? Another example i just remembered is Assassins Creed. The First was good, The second was good enough for me(I played it on the 360 FYI). But with this third coming up, With no new characters, to me, it feels that there Looking to get more money because it has the AC name on it. If they pushed back the release, let people get what they can out of AC2, then release Bloodlines.
I think the game looks great, but the name... The name Bioshock should stay with Rapture and Rapture alone.
But whatever, this is just the first trailer, maybe this blows the first BioShock out of the water or something.
Nice pun there, buddeh. Also. If you pause at 0:54 you can clearly see that THING's face, meaning it's not quite a Big Daddy. Anyways, to be quite honest I can't wait for this.
I think the game looks great, but the name... The name Bioshock should stay with Rapture and Rapture alone.
If it we're called anything else, people would bitch about it being a Bioshock clone.
You telling me that if _insert game company_ released game X one year, Game X2 the next and X3 the year after,
Few problems with this: 1) Bioshock and Bioshock II were nearly three years apart on their releases. 2) Bioshock Infinite is PLANNED to be released two years after Bioshock II, assuming all goes well. The point: they're not following through with some kind of "milking system". Two years is a long time in the world of developers. Anybody who has played games long enough or just watched for future releases closely can plainly see this.
You wouldn't think that their trying to get what they can out of it?
In light of the above, nope. Anybody that does is, well bluntly, pretty stupid.
Bloodlines is not AC3. It is comparable to an expansion pack- geared towards multiplayer in the series. AC3 will, naturally, feature completely different characters and be set in a completely different timeframe. The plot of course will also be different. Why make such ridiculous comparisons between games man? The Bioshock series is nothing like the Assassin's Creed series...
You guys should just shut up about the name, for christ sakes. " oh nawp, itz called Bioshock but since its nawt underwuter it sucks, change teh naem. " OH OH OH AND In the trailer, at 1:27, look closely. In reality, you should see the guy hanging from the thing, in the reflection of the window...but you don't. :v:
This guy sounds like Old Man Jenkins, or something. I mean just listen to him fall out the window. He's going to suffer from a heart-attack before he hits the ground.
Guys, something ain't right, here. There's two of her, and it scares me.
except they don't look anything alike at all
This guy sounds like Old Man Jenkins, or something. I mean just listen to him fall out the window. He's going to suffer from a heart-attack before he hits the ground.
He's thousands of feet above the ground, on a gigantic floating city that's inhabited by batshit insane gun-toting right-wing American "patriots"- with a gigantic metal man that's just thrown him out of a window, nearly to his death, after attempting to drown him in a fish tank. And then just when he's about to be rescued by some hot woman, the metal man comes back, messes everything up, and he DOES fall to his death. It's been one shitty day for that dude. Give him a break.
I love Bioshock, but now I have no desire to play this. Unless it's like where it's a service to be in a collective dream and it's taken over, I'd explain all the US Flags and surreal imagery. I can't accept this! I want Rapture back! :bang: you even saw Rapture in the trailer so... wait, it was a fish tank, fuck!
except they don't look anything alike at all
That's debatable, but you are correct. [editline]01:24PM[/editline] So does anyone think Fontaine will make an appearance in this game?
That's debatable, but you are correct. [editline]01:24PM[/editline] So does anyone think Fontaine will make an appearance in this game?
Hell no. Isn't Infinite in a different continuity? Besides, he was born in 1920.
Oh god dammit you're right. I just remember him saying Rapture was a "candy shop" to him, so I thought this might of been the start.
That's debatable, but you are correct. [editline]01:24PM[/editline] So does anyone think Fontaine will make an appearance in this game?
Considering the game takes place ten years before he was born, no.
Another console garbage like Bioshock. I want something like System Shock, not a console shooter. Why they don't listen their fans?
They do, they just don't listen to retarded assholes
Considering the game takes place ten years before he was born, no.
Also isn't this game not even supposed to take place in the same canon?
Considering the game takes place ten years before he was born, no.
Yeah, I just figured that out. When I read your text, you sound ANGRY. Why do you sound ANGRY?
So, erm. . . Big Grandpa?
You just reminded me of Game Informer's recent April issue.
Game looks great to me. I can't wait. Also with the destroyable floating buildings I'd love to send a big daddy and like 10 people trying to kill me to their falling death.
Big GRANDPA :science:
