If anyone wants to play later: Firestarter 768 EU Platinum league 1v1 (because I won my placement matches, I am really not that good) Silver 2v2 I'm on in about 30 minutes and up for some 1v1/2v2.

I don't think you can go straight to diamond.

Also, you can't place into diamond. 5/5 gets you into plat, then you have to get reevaluated into diamond.

I think it takes into account the ranks of the people you play against. My friend won 4/5 placement matches and got put in gold. I won 4/5 and got put in platinum.

And balance it, but SC1 (or Brood War) wasn't perfectly balanced at launch either.

Just won my first placement match, he tried zergling rushing me, i didn't pay attention to the rocks at the back of my base and he flooded through. He obviously didn't notice my SCV at the start seeing his spawning pool going up, and didn't expect me to have so many marines to rip his zerglings to shreds. As soon as he saw me walking towards his base he GG'd and left. I feel happy.

I should have gotten 4/5, but I was dropped when I was literally 100 hp away from destroying a guy's last building. The other one was cheese which I didn't scout in time.
