PM the OP, he doesnt add them otherwise...
Yeah but I'm a Zerg too. Mostly it's the Roaches that bother me, it seems that early on the only way to counter them is more Roaches.
Also I just had a FFA, everyone except for me was stuck on their base and 1 expansion, I had 4 and a Gold one, so I decide to fuck shit up and start smashing the Protoss on the other side of the map (who I think was getting resource-strangled because all he made was Stalkers, while I had fully Upgraded Ultras and shit), and all goes well I take out his heavily fortified (mass cannons and Stalkers) expansion, start marching towards the main when suddenly the other Zerg (which I had never seen do anything) arrives at my base with loads of Mutaslisks and Zerglings, and forced me to GG (my army was on the other side of the map, and it was made to smash bases and Stalkers, it would have been useless against mass Mutas). Lesson learned, next time someone is too silent attack him instead of the loud belligerent one.
The only highly effective zerg v zerg strat is speedlings to banelings to mutalisks.
GoldenBULLET 407 EU
Anyone up for some 1v1's, I play Terran and i'm awful so I need some practice.
I usually go 3 gate on my first base now and wind up at 4 gate 2 robo after I expand
Thanks i'll try that :)

complete newb here but why would the speedlings be any good? whats wrong with just normal zerglings in a zerg v zerg?

The speedling upgrade is cheap and speedlings are incredibly versatile. You can have them zooming around looking for expansions while your mutalisks harass. Or you can run past your enemy's static defenses into the mineral line. Or other cool shit. Strictly speaking it's not necessary to the strategy, but there's so much you can do with speedlings that it's almost inefficient not to get the upgrade.
That was strange... I played against a Protoss, and I'm not too familiar with them...
I blocked off my ramp nicely at the start of the match then scouted and saw he hadn't built anything, on my way back i noticed two warp gates going off right to the side of my ramp, so i pumped out some marines and put down a bunker. i shot the warp gate till its shields went down and his zealots ran up, saw my marines hop inside the bunker (completely ready to fuck up his rush) and he just left
Guys I feel like a complete asshole, either that or I'm the god of cheesing.
It was me and this other guy, ZvZ, so I decided to mix things up a bit.
I 7 pooled and built a spine crawler on his creep (just far enough so that he couldn't see it, but it could attack his hatchery.)
Rage ensues. Also replay shall be up in a moment.

You're a bad person and you should feel bad
Void rays are not overpowered, you just need to scout better. They are so easy to counter it is silly. They are very expensive and any anti-air = void ray rush fail. I tend to go void rays against Zerg and Terran so I know it doesn't always work. When it does work at least the game is short.
I'm gonna do my 1v1 placements as soon as I can reliably beat a very hard random computer every time
Playing against a computer is nothing like playing against another person. A computer consistently follows the same strategy every game. The only thing I could imagine that you're improving is making your build order more efficient and learning timings a bit better.
TL;DR, you're better off just playing placements.
Thanks bro, I know how the AI is different from a human

I'm not an imbecile

No
Very hard AIs macro and build armies CRAZY fast (I think I said this before) so once I can beat them consistently with your traditional attack-counterattack I will be confident in my macro ability.
[editline]12:45PM[/editline]
Probably easier 1v1 than 2v2 though because they both go for one person with a bigass army

Yes
If you can't counter voids you are bad. They are expensive and the units that counter them can be made in far higher quantities than them.

no
I never said you were an imbecile =/
You're still better off playing placements. Playing a computer will eventually get you into the mindset that you opponent is going to go the same strategy every single game, and as such your scouting is going to slacked. Then you get into placements, get 6-pooled/cannon rushed/bunker rushed/proxy 2 gated and you might find yourself struggling to effectively hold it off, because AI doesn't cheese.

I'll go on right now if you want?
I really should learn how to use Ghosts, I've never even tried.
I'll be on the ultimate team of doom and domination whatever.
DigiTech.525 US Protoss
On another note, I just Forge FE'd vs a zerg and kept him contained on one base, I feel proud of myself.

what the fuck is 6pool?
We gonna be sooooo toss heavy
what the fuck is 6pool?
It when someone makes a spawning pool when they have 6 drones out AKA as soon as the game starts
Oh man, just finished the campaign pretty awesome. Can't wait for the rest..
I'm just going through some missions on hard now and holy fudge, they're hard lol.
The third mission bonus achievement is to destroy 4 hatcheries, I can't even get close! Just get wiped out by the spine crawlers, roaches, zergs and those other shooty things...so many of them...Not sure how that's possible lol. Early game marines suck :(

I can't speak for the other races, but Queens no (they get destroyed by VRs, especially considering the time it takes to spawn one), Hydras are so-so, Mutalisks and Corruptors work great though.

No, no, no. Queens are 150 and two can hold off the initial Void Ray. Two hydras kill a Void Ray, so i don't understand why you think they are "So-so."
Hydralisks, mutalisks and roaches are great.
