I meant against terran johnny
[QUOTE=JohnnyMo1;23997436]Marines or hydras or stalkers[/QUOTE]
Whenever I try to kill void rays with marines he just kites em away. It's ridiculously annoying.

Stim
If you have marines and/or marauders you should always have stim anyway

Oh, well that's even easier: marauders.

Stim isn't fast enough. He brings them behind a cliff or some shit I can't get up into. This happens on both offense and defense.
marauders get raped by colossus dude
Vikings fuck up colossus. Vikings can attack the colossus because of it's height and it can't attack back.

Nooot so much, no.

Bad idea colossi+stalker though
Void rays do outrun stim and pretty much everything else in the game.
upgraded voids are the same speed as stimmed marines
[editline]10:06PM[/editline]
slower than hydra on creep
[editline]10:07PM[/editline]
stalkers have blink
[editline]10:08PM[/editline]
the problem is that void rays are not that good on their own but you really need to keep the enemy from getting too many of them. Once they hit 8-10 they do 100 dps normally and over 300 to armored when they're charged.

Yes but upgraded stim marines can't fly or go over cliffs.
Yes that is what happens when ground units fight flying units
[editline]10:11PM[/editline]
you see, flying units can fly
[editline]10:12PM[/editline]
if you're really intent on destroying every void ray that crosses your path and not just keeping them out of your base, get vikings and kite them.
[editline]10:21PM[/editline]
Honestly though, marines are really good against voids for being T1 units. Hydras and blink stalkers counter them better but they're T2 units and T1 units with T2 upgrades. Take what you can get at low techs for higher tech counters or tech up.
What kind of computer configuration is required to play this game well?
Fast roach is so much fun :D
i need some people to play with because onox is acting weird and ignoring me
please don't play with me I don't swing that was no offence
[QUOTE=JohnnyMo1;24000209]please don't play with me I don't swing that was no offence[/QUOTE]
you don't swing that was no offence
um ok
[QUOTE=NomadicNinja;24000156]i need some people to play with because onox is acting weird and ignoring me[/QUOTE]
I'll play with you.
My names in the op
Seriously i had 20 phoenix he still killed all my phoenixes with his void rays even thou i micro them.
[QUOTE=NomadicNinja;24000246]you don't swing that was no offence

*that way

phoenixes are anti-light
Yeah i know but they were upgrade to max armor shield and damage i also had 14 stalker with them.
that just doesn't sound true anymore
I looked in replay apparently his teammate had some ghost following the voidrays.
Anybody got tips/link to tips for a total shit Terran?
Watch replays, learn builds, practice etc.

stalkers aren't t1
[QUOTE=Mr_Razzums;24000719]Watch replays, learn builds, practice etc.[/QUOTE]
That.
Watching replays and practicing are the best way to learn really. Also, watch Day9. He is really awesome. Builds are good and useful for optimizing your early game strategy but once they become just guidelines instead of a strict formula you need to be able to adapt yourself.

[QUOTE=Xera;24000796]stalkers aren't t1[/QUOTE]
1.5 then
Hydras are awful for voidrays. Unless you have hydras at every fucking corner of your base voidrays will just run circles around you because void rays fly at the speed of light. Blink stalkers are good for void rays because they have blink and they can cut them off.
Stalkers, Marines, and hydras are not that bad against void rays, it's just that they are unbelievably fast, if you outnumber the voidrays and attack with hydras or marines they can just fly away before the shields go down. And I've noticed that void rays are even faster than stimed marines.
3 void rays fully charged can take down any building in seconds, and by the time your counter arrives the void rays can either fly away or just fucking roll you with FUCKING 48 DAMAGE A SECOND WITH OUT UPGRADES.

TELL ME THIS IS NOT OVERPOWERED.
41 DPS with +3? Give me a fucking break!
Only reason people are defending void rays saying they are balanced is because they are in bronze league and don't play against people who know how to micro.
Fixed info.
[QUOTE=Mr_Razzums;24001011]And I've noticed that void rays are even faster than stimed marines. [/QUOTE]
They're not

If that was true why don't they dominate pro games. They seem rare in pro games, particularly in any number larger than about 2.
[editline]11:34PM[/editline]
Okay so 60 DPS is give me a fucking break and so is 2/3 of that.
What DPS is NOT give me a fucking break
So Raccoon and I managed to make a 2vAI (medium) game last for an hour and 2 minutes. I cannon rushed one, took it out, then the other was kept contained while I mined out the map and spelled dirty words on the minimap with pylons.

The dps that does not allow 2 void rays to destroy any building in the game within seconds then allows the unit to fly away at mach 5.
