Starcraft II Megathread V.1 'Hell, It's About Time'

Takes me like 30 seconds or less to load a singleplayer map.
Once again...
:siren::siren::siren::siren::siren: PM me your name and character code. I'm not going to skim through every post for it.:siren::siren::siren::siren::siren:
Well the singleplayer isn't really the selling point of this game. You're supposed to buy it because it's the most fleshed out RTS out there. It's like buying a battlefield game for the singleplayer.

Except that doesn't even have a campaign. Just bot matches. Starcraft's campaign is a hell of a lot more detailed.
I bought SC2 mostly for the campaign just because SC1 is my favourite game, the multiplayer is really nice too of course but not so nice when you get your ass beaten all the time.
Can someone explain to me the whole battle.net subscription bullshit.
It's 60 for Starcraft 2 then another 60 for battle.net? :byodood:

What? No.
If you look at the OP now, you can see the correct format for submitting your username and player code.
I mean, it doesn't make sense that [SP]Jim killed Tychus, Tychus took 9 years prison, saved Raynors life numerous times and helped him out a shitload, and all Jim does is shoot him but for what? Saving the woman who killed billions upon billions of people? Granted, Tychus wasn't the nicest guy around either but damnit he was much better than Kerrigan.[/SP]
Fuckit, Jimmy, you're not number 1 favourite anymore, Matt Horner takes your place.
Oh and I'm EU, onox.

Make sure and get which region they are playing in as well, EU or US.

Just a quick question did you play SC and SC:BW? I mean some parts of the story in sc2 won't make sense if you haven't played the original game.

Starcraft 1 and Broodwar are/is my favourite game so obviously, yes. I know very well what truly happened to Kerrigan but the fact still remains.

[sp] If you actually paid attention to the story you'd know that if Kerrigan dies, the dark one, who is presumed to be a Xel'Naga, will destroy everything using his Zerg / Protoss hybrids as Kerrigan won't be around to stop the Zerg from joining the dark one. [/sp]
I didn't really pay attention to the protoss mission parts just because how godawful boring they were but I completely forgot about the [SP]possible Xel'Naga dude, now I know what's up. I still want Tychus back though![/SP]
I'm dissapointed by the lack of Duran in this campaign though. Only thing that I found negative as of yet.
Well I'm going to replay the story on Brutal soon enough and I agree, where was Duran? I was really confident in him having some sort of important role atleast.
Someone be a bro and PM me a 7hr code and when i buy SC2 i'll PM you one back ;p

Good idea, thank you.
Also what are they going to do with the heart of the swarm campaign as [sp] Kerrigan is no longer Queen of the zerg and all like that. Fighting off the rampant remnats of the zerg doesn't seem all the exciting unless that's where Duran comes back in the picture taking control over the zerg? [/sp]

[sp]Rumor has it she will still control the zerg, however the campaign focuses on her having to learn to control them and get to the full extent of her abilities. Which makes sense, she went from kill BCs in one hit to normal human with some weird ass hair. I think the transition is a bit rough.[/sp]
Well, I figured if something was this popular, there was something to it, so I decided to try out Starcraft 1. I was on the 30 minute survival mission towards the beginning, and when 6 or 7 Zerg ran at my marines, I thought "That's the Zerg rush I've heard about? What bull." Then I found out what a real Zerg rush was. So did my 5 surviving marines. This game is awesome.
Replying to some page old posts, had to work
Why the hell would anyone watch all the story cinematics without playing?
Because they were leaked before the game came out
Also, the Xel Naga do have a motive to kill their creations, and a lot of everything you are pointing out was explained in the first Starcraft. The Xel Naga motive is unknown as far as I know or remember, but it doesn't mean it's not there.
None of that was explained in the first. All that happened was Kerrigan became Zergified and then killed the overmind to take the Zerg for herself. And if the motive is unknown to us then they might as well just not have one
Uh, you got that zerg thing very very wrong. If killed normally the zerg would just die off, but Kerrigan took control when the overmind was destroyed (the reason as to why the overmind had to destroy itself is told in the game (non-CGI cinematics, and during missions)).
Stupid excuse to semi redeem Kerrigan's evil actions
It would've been better if the damn bitch really just killed the thing because she craved power and came back in Starcraft 2 to kill everyone rather than be rescued by her "sweet heart" Jim. I seem to remember that in the first one they just... maybe flirted a little? If that?
EDIT
I mean, it doesn't make sense that [sp] Jim killed Tychus
Yeah well JIMM LOOOOOOOOOVES KERRIGAN and Tychus was gonna killer her.
That and I think Zeratul or one of the other Protoss characters said not to kill her. It was part of the prophecy[/sp]
The game has been running poorly for me on any setting. I've noticed that the lag is nil as long as I don't move the mouse.
Everything on screen has a good framerate no matter what the action. The second I start moving around though and clicking things the game locks up and becomes very laggy.
Is there a solution to this?
For example:
The main menu screen. Everything is smooth as silk as the Hyperion moves in the background and the Battle.net screen flickers with life. I start moving my mouse around in a small circle.
LAG.
Everything freezes up on screen. The ship moves at a snails pace. Sometimes the game will just lock up.

Would make sense. But I just feel that Duran is going to have quite a big role in the SC2 storyline. [sp] Also that bloody ability to 1 shot BCs pissed me off so badly the first time she did it. I went for banshee strike teams rather than BCs after that <.< [/sp]

Did you try updating your graphics drivers? I assume you have the adequate hardware
Anyway I enjoyed the campaign. Even if you don't like the story which I do (I always go for cheesey sci-fi stories) the level design was very well done, it didn't really get boring or repetitive.
I haven't played online at all yet.
I don't think I'm ready at all.
Character Name: Gobbarticus
Code: 370
I'm going to make an exception for you because I just now posted it. If you want your name and number in the OP you need to PM me with it. I'm not going to go through every post.
What region are you?
