Aren't there pro tournaments going on right now? Lazyscout told me so... if so, anyone know of a stream?
I'll add tips to this post as i start watching all the placement replays. Replay 1: Watch your queuing on your production buildings. At 4:00 you could have enough to throw down another rax for your build. The engi bay you threw down went unused for about 5 minutes; you had enough income to support the upgrades but you probably forgot like i usually do. You did a good job with the reapers though, you supply blocked your opponent for a bit. Also, you built a good amount a harvesters which a lot of players have trouble with. When you got your expo up you should have split your harvesters because your main was being mined out and ended up over saturated. Overall you did alright that game, scouting is also essential when playing games in higher level play. Expanding earlier would have been better since there was no aggression during most of the game. Replay 2: At the start you didn't saturate your Refinery. Your orbital command was a tad late, i usually get it around 15 or 16 food. I just noticed, don't send 4 scvs to build 4 supply depots at the same time. You don't need that much pop at that moment. Usually I have on scv that constantly builds supply depots and later in the game I add another scv so they build 2 depots at a time. With your amount of production buildings, you do not need that many workers pulled off the mineral line. Try to keep your money down too, at times during the mid game ~12 minutes, you let your minerals stock pile to 2000, the minerals your not spending could have been invested in more production buildings or an expo. You gotta keep stuff coming out of your production buildings, macro is pretty much the most important thing in the game. Ya, i'm too lazy to do anymore replays, sorry. I hope i helped you a bit.
Awesome, thanks for the tips. I try to keep my minerals down as much as possible sometimes when my attention is focused elsewhere I don't notice how high my counts are climbing for a few minutes. Then I'm like "OH SHIT *churns out a fuck load of Marines.*

I guess just try to always keep units training and building supply depots during micro and the money will keep fairly low.

If anyones interested, heres a replay from a tourney thing i was in. At that time I was a gold player playing against my opponent who was plat. http://filesmelt.com/dl/TvTTourney.SC2Replay
Oh man, I really wish i hadn't started off playing as Terran. I got myself into Platinum league rank 20'ish doing MMM and now that i'm playing zerg (something that requires a considerable amount of skill) i'm losing so bad. Still, i'm not terran anymore :v:

Anyone know where to find the "blizzard" filter for maps? For some reason when I search for custom maps the filters carry over into my single player vs ai menu, so my menu doesn't show 10 or so maps that I want to play.
It amuses me every time I read something like this, especially when the player used to be a staunch terran defender.
At least i've seen the light. I tried surrounding from behind with speedlings, using spine crawlers to defend my natural expansion along with roaches and such because the toss dude came in with stalkers, zealots and a sentry or two but they just tore through my units. Got a lot to learn. [editline]04:30PM[/editline] I also had around 1.8k minerals un-used, I don't know where to throw it.
Someone explain to me why Terran are so hated.
Someone explain to me why Terran are so hated.
80% of the top 200 slots are Terran. Thus everyone thinks they are OP.
Someone explain to me why Terran are so hated.
Because they have a ton of viable options, and MMM, which is a powerful build, is pretty much an attack move build. It doesn't take much skill at all, but in order to counter it a zerg player has to work hard. Also, terran has a huge number of viable openings. If they go early gas, they could go reapers mmm, 1/1/1, mech, etc. It's almost impossible to tell what they are doing and make an army with reasonable counters.
They are the easiest race to play and also some would say, in many aspects, the strongest. Zerg/protoss are much harder to play and the efforts of the player go un-rewarded because they aren't as powerful or diverse. I don't think you can name a terran unit that doesn't fulfill it's role without a slight 'bonus' so to speak. Think about it.
Because protoss and zerg sure don't have many options. It feels like you guys are just mad at people who play terran and win. If terran lost more often there'd be no dislike/hate.
Because protoss and zerg sure don't have many options. It feels like you guys are just mad at people who play terran and win. If terran lost more often there'd be no dislike/hate.
the problem is that terran is op. this is fact.
By the way I want to download some replays from the sites posted here just a few minutes ago, but I don't where which folder do I need to download them to, help?
the problem is that terran is op. this is fact.
Prove it.

If terran lost more often there'd be no dislike/hate.
Terran win because their options give them a huge advantage... [editline]04:27PM[/editline]
Prove it.
There's no way to mathematically prove that a race is "OP". Asking something like "prove it" is asinine and makes you look like a fool. It takes much more effort in all cases for a zerg player to beat a terran player. The apm difference is typically 10-20. If it takes one race more effort than another to win, there is an imbalance. Have you ever played zerg against terran?
Prove it.
This is a statement that only a 5 year old or a troll uses. I'll go ahead and assume you're the former.
Because insulting people sure is the best way to win a debate right guys I'm just saying that I don't see how Terran are OP, of course they have more options because their units don't really have any special benefits or flaws, kinda.
Protip: Zerg units move faster on creep!
Because insulting people sure is the best way to win a debate right guys I'm just saying that I don't see how Terran are OP, of course they have more options because their units don't really have any special benefits or flaws, kinda.
Tell me, what race do you play and what league are you in?
Tell me, what race do you play and what league are you in?
Just do Muta Ling like -chu- does. I'll bet you that any Terran you go against won't be able to beat it if you keep them contained as you spread around the map.
Just do Muta Ling like -chu- does. I'll bet you that any Terran you go against won't be able to beat it if you keep them contained as you spread around the map.
Chu has an average of 110 apm while his opponents that I've seen him beat average half of that. It works, but he has to work twice as hard as his enemies. That is an imbalance. He is a good player, the races are not even.
Tell me, what race do you play and what league are you in?
Terran and bronze in all 3, mainly because I don't play so much anymore due to lack of teammates. Does it make a difference if I play Terran because it sure doesn't when I am unbiased. I think all races are just balanaced, sure they all need small fixes here and there but they got nothing major.
