Starcraft II Megathread V.1 'Hell, It's About Time'

i actually enjoyed Dota in starcraft 2 more than i enjoyed it in Warcraft 3
I have a quick question, CE comes with "guest passes". Does this mean that there is blizzard's fuck you and makes you pay for a subscription?
Dota is already out? I remember loap from WC3, that was a pretty fun gamemode and I hope something similar is remade.
Ok new plan, nydus wack-a-mole is useless when the enemy rushes air, aka void rays and mutalisks...

What subscription? They're just free passes for 7 hours to play the game.
And I got the regular version and it comes with guest passes too.

no no no fucking read up on this shit
you can send it to somebody and they can play the game for seven days
there's nothing related to subscriptions at all

No, they give your friends a 7 hour play time trial for Starcraft 2 and that's it.

Anyone have a free weekend I could have? Thanks
Damn, I got my phone replaced, and now I can't get into my account because of the fucking authenticator that was on there. I've emailed Blizzard three fucking times, and called them at least 5 times, one of them I spent an hour waiting to be put through to SOMEBODY, but I never got off hold. I really want to play this game, and now I have to wait for Blizzard to send me some stupid email, but hey, maybe it'll come in 2-3 months, cuz that's how it's looking.
As i walked into EB games i didn't expect it to be there, i walked to the counter and said "Starcraft 2?" the man behind the counter slowly raised up the collectors edition.. it was amazing, i bought it.
I guess this would be the place to ask for a guest pass. does anyone have one they didn't already promise to someone else?

sure.
Is Starcraft II worth getting, even if you're terrible at RTS games? I already have Starcraft.

Honestly I find experimenting with strategies, watching pro games, and developing as a player the most fun part of the Starcraft games. I'm amazed at how much better I am at SC1 than when I started.

I played a few games with a friend, first game we kicked maximum ass against two medium AI's.
And then after that...Everything seemed to go to hell, they all bum rushed me before my friend (whose still getting the grips of the game) could get a decent counter force ready, three freaking games in a row this happened to me, it's like...THEY KNOW WHOSE THE MORE DANGEROUS PLAYER
i found out that a terran player who builds twenty medvacs wields immense power

I played some games with onox. He needed some guiding at first when we played against medium. We lost a few games then he got a handle of it and we mastered them! Yay! Then we bumped it up to hard and played a really aggressive zealot + marine push game and we won by a landslide! Yay! Then we bumped it up to very hard and OH MY GOD WHAT IS GOING ON

i always found out that once you survive that very first rush with the basic stuff the game completely changes
This game is proving to be RIDICULOUSLY hard on Multiplayer. I'm getting better though, most matches go like this, few SCV's, supply depot, barracks, refinery *BANG 100000 enemies appear from nowhere LOL, i don't know where I'm going wrong!
Maybe people who say they're getting owned in multiplayer should post their replays.
It would be the easiest way for people to watch you and tell you what you're doing wrong.
When ever I play I have to open my computer case panel and put a fan beside it blowing air into the case just to keep it from suddenly shutting down due to overheating.
My poor 4850 T_T
My reaction to SC2: :aaa:
My reaction to the Galaxy Editor: :aaaaa::respek::psyduck:

you have to build as quick as you can to survive that initial wave, once you do you have to start stockpiling the best units and then you go over and destroy everything
that's not the tactical part however
[editline]09:01PM[/editline]
my russian heritage seems to show up in this game, the tactic that works the best for me is building an ungodly number of marines and basically marching over to the enemy bases
Can anyone please explain how the hell I am supposed to win against terrans when they can easily check what kind of units I have with orbital command, and then counter all of them. Even if I hide them all they can make a pretty good guess at what I am going for.
A great tactic that works if you can find the time is double barracks and reactors. You can produce 4 marines at one time.
[editline]09:12PM[/editline]
I think I'll be changing up my tactics in a bit. I'm going to think some tactics through while taking a shit. Then maybe I'll have a glass of juice and listen to my starcraft podcast.
Anyone got any tips for countering mass protoss/zerg air units as terran, other than with vikings or missle turrets? What would be better, mass marines or thors?

1 with tech and 1 with reactor works well. Twice as many marines as marauders isn't a bad unit composition.
Medivacs for extra points

Depends on the units. Thors wipe the floor with mutas. Marines are great against voids.
I just had a great fucking idea I want to try against a terran player. Go zealots with charge. Get a sentry and hallucinate a void ray. Harass with it a little bit to make the Terran go marines, then butcher his marines with your zealots.
