[SP]I picked Nova because I didn't really like Tosh and seeing as SC:Ghost never was released this was the closest I got. [/SP]
[sp]One thing that pissed me off about the single player was that in one of the cutscenes on Char after taking down the Nydus Worms/Air units it rains water on Char.
I was like WTF IT DOESNT RAIN WATER ON CHAR THERE IS NO WATER ON CHAR WTF IS THIS BULLSHIT BLIZZARD[/sp]

How does it not rain on Char? Almost all living things require water to live including the zerg who secrete tons pof juices, some of which may be water. Char is hot I'm sure, therefore evaporating the water from dead carapaces.

What's every ones favorite mission from singleplayer?
[sp]Mine has to be the one where you control tychus in the Odin. I loved walking around Korhal and just smashing everything then building a bunch of thors to protect the odin while we took every tower. It was great.[/sp]
anyone else think raynor is a dick at times
damn the zerg are incredible at kicking the ass of battlecruisers

I agree. Ever since that one my main strategy has been getting a Thor walker as fast as possible, then building some defenses and sending the Thor on a rampage with a trail of SCVs continually repairing it :v:

Mine is probably [SP]Outbreak because it felt so much like a zombie-survival custommap but really well-made. A shame they didn't make it a co-op multiplayer map.[/SP]
My in game name is HTF code thing is 475 EU server.
Give us an add if you want to play some 2v2, 3v3 or 4v4 and maybe some 1v1 practice games.
Look at the OP for players who you would want to play with.
[sp]I just finished the Nova mission and saw Tychus get fucked up by Voodoo in the cinematic, but then I go down to the Cantina and see he's fine? What happened there?[/sp]

Anyone willing to give me a North America guest pass again?
I had a pretty interesting game with a friend earlier on, I went Terran and he went Zerg. I decided to get my defenses up and running as quickly as possible and soon I had bunkers and missile towers surrounding my base meaning it was impossible for anything but a small army to get through. Then my friend had to leave for about 20 minutes, he asked me politely not to attack his base and I complied. I found his base using the orbital scanner.
I decided to spend my 20 free minutes wisely and set up even more defenses with SCV's doing patrols along the perimeter of bunkers and anti-air with the auto-repair ability on. Pretty soon I had bunkers with marauders and marines inside just chilling out. Hellions for the inevitable zerg rush and Thors to pick off the ultralisks if they made an appearance. I also had Siege Tanks at the ready with every upgrade available applied.
Didn't take long before I hit the 200 population cap. At which point he returned. Yet again, I agreed to leaving him alone for a bit as he said he had to continue building his base. However, not 10 minutes later there were hydralisks on my doorstep. I did a few scans of the local area around my base and some to the east only to discover that he had set up 3 different bases, however, most of them were pretty much defenseless save for a few ultralisks. In my infinite wisdom I decided to chase the hydralisks back to the base that was closest to me.
I figured that if I took out the base closest to me I could chase him all the way back to his main one, effectively stopping him from launching a counter-attack on my base. I figured that my army of well over 76 units ranging from Hellions to Thors and Siege Tanks could take on anything. I was wrong.
My entire army got destroyed by the ultralisks and due to the fact that I'm a scrub I had them all clustered together, if they had had the opportunity to fan out I would've destroyed the ultralisks. By now my base was empty save for the missile turrets, bunkers and the workers that still patrolled the grounds. He sent in a swarm of brood lords that swiftly took out most of my outer perimeter defenses. I had anticipated that this might happen and I had a nuke ready for launch. So I blew up the remainder of my outer perimeter along with a lot of his units. Thinking I had been defeated I gathered whatever forces remained and led a suicidal rush towards his closest base.
There were about 30 units in all, a couple of vikings, a shitload of marines and two siege tanks. I took out the first base pretty easily as he had spread his forces too thin and whatever units he sent after me were destroyed pretty quickly. The spine crawlers on the second base posed a problem however and they took out a lot of my units. My friend had set them up so that the only way into the base had two of them ready to pick off units as they trickled in. I was able to use brute force to get through. I lost most of my remaining units there and I took out his second base with only a handful of marines and one siege tank. I charged into his last base, scanning with my orbital command as I went along and detected no burrowed units. The entire perimeter of his last base was covered in spine crawlers and I was only just able to squeeze past them along the edge of a cliff, just outside their reach.
After fighting off a small squad of roaches I opened fire on his spire. Then the zerglings came. My last handful of units got destroyed and I knew that I had been defeated. I scrolled back to my base to watch the carnage only to find all 10 of my bunkers filled to the brink with marauders and marines, I quickly unloaded them all and set off again, I also found two siege tanks I had forgotten ever having ordered. By now I was sure the battle was lost, I couldn't afford to sneak around the edge outside the reach of the Spine Crawlers a second time around as he would have too much time to set up more units. So I charged right into the wall, somehow, most of my units survived, even the two siege tanks. We took up position opposite the wall of Spine Crawlers. I put my tanks into Siege mode and opened fire on them from afar, my marines dealt with the workers and newly spawned zerglings that tried to attack them. Pretty soon only his hive was left. From the south my one and only sensor tower picked up a mass of units moving in. I had forgotten to take out a couple of the workers and now they had created a whole army of zerglings. I kept my siege tanks firing on the hive while my marines clustered near the only ramp into his base. I fought off the zerglings only to find an ultralisk headed my way. The marines dealt with it in no time, and just as it fell, the hive came apart.
"VICTORY" came up on my screen and I let loose a sigh of relief. I had won against impossible odds. Taking out 8 ultralisks in total and an army of vicious creatures.
And that is why I love StarCraft 2. Sure, it has its moments where you just scream "BULLSHIT!" at the mass of void rays tearing your carefully constructed anti-air apart and watch as a simple mass of units overcome the defenses you designed specifically to take out any threat. But then there are the moments where you do the impossible and defeat a horde with only a handful of men. Where tactics prevail over sheer numbers and you know that through cunning and insane luck, you destroyed your opponent.

people who say Starcraft is only about having more troops are full of shit. Just play through the challenges and you'll know how important using your soldiers correctly is.
[sp]Yes wasn't pleased they didn't talk about it...also protect them. I did..it's easy if you know what you are doing...[/sp]
I don't understand why you had such a hard time fighting your friend. He was gone for twenty minutes. You could have made 200 banshees if you wanted.

If you agree to a cease-fire until you each hit the pop-cap, it's going to be an interesting battle.
Hey does it work if you buy a copy from, say, England, and try to use the key on an American account
I just get "The authentication key you entered cannot be claimed. Please try again."
Does the key know what region it's supposed to be used in?
I hate the fact that everyone I know played SC2 for like 2-3 days with me then moved on to WoW, as usual. There's no chance in hell asking them to play because they have to "raid, heroics" and fuckall.
I need active people to multiplay with.

Could've. Should've. He didn't have any anti-air, he had focused solely on the ground aspect of things. I was planning on letting him gore himself on my defenses and then pick off the stragglers, but I chased after him in my foolishness. And this is going to make my victory sound even more pitiful, but he had never played Zerg before and I wanted to go easy on him in the beginning. I'm pretty good at setting up units fast and as such I could've gone after him in a matter of minutes, but I wanted to give him a chance. Besides, the struggle for the victory made it even more sweet when I finally triumphed.

You have to make an EU account to make it work.
This will be the last time I repeat this as I've seen it a couple of times in the thread. I made about two exceptions but no more.
If you want your name and char. code in the OP, PM me. I will not accept posts.
Format goes like this:
facepunch name
Username: username
Region: US/EU
Char. Code: 123

Offtopic but your Hydralisk looks like it's dancing to some beat.
Also, getting it today!
Anyone able to get me an avatar of Jim Raynor (the first mission where you control him, the animated portrait preferably.)
Eh, I don't get the hype about this game. I mean, it could be that I am not a fan at all of real time strategy games.
But the cutscenes do look fantastic.
Anyone want to help me justify spending $60 on a game?
