Starcraft II Megathread V.1 'Hell, It's About Time' - Games

Turtling as zerg is an overall terrible idea.

I just played a TvT game on Xel'Naga Caverns against some plat guy. Game started off pretty regularly with the scouting and harassing scvs while they build. As the game progressed i did a medivac drop on him; which promptly got shutdown by an assload of marines and marauders. After this, he sends 3 medivacs at my base which i also quickly kill with turrets/siege tanks. A bit later, i get my natural and move my siege tanks to protect it. Both of us macro'ed up a pretty big army as we played passively for about 5 minutes. When he went for a second drop, this time with 5 medivacs, i caught sight of him from the xel'naga watchtower. With 7 vikings i shot down 2 fully loaded medivacs before he unloaded his troops. I then proceeded to be a dumbass and was caught off guard by the huge mmm ball he had while trying to siege my tanks as fast as i could. Lastly, he attacks my base with the remaining forces which, which i somehow kill with 2 siege tanks, 1 marine and 2 marauders. I then caught his third expansion while it was being built and proceeded to move to his natural, where i promptly siege'd up against his planatary fortress; then he finally left. I guess the game doesn't seem that intense when i write it out but when i was playing my heart was racing like a motherfucker. His damn 5 barracks on 2 base.

Anyone want to play with me? I can share some knowledge with zerg, or just have a laid back game Region: US Name: Toast Code: 284

I was playing a 4v4 game vs the AI earlier today. I was Terran. I start getting my minerals and gas and start laying down some barracks. After I get some reapers out I head on over to the enemy base with my teammates to check what's going on. They never made it. Being the mediocre player I am, a few minutes later my base were no match for the combined forces of the enemy. With my remaining units I loaded up the Command Center and seeked refuge with my allies. I mustered up my forces and worked with the resources that was given. I made a fair sized army of Marines since I didn't want to waste too many minerals on other units. My teammates were moving out so I took my most of my marines with them(leaving some behind in case of a counterattack). We ended up winning the match. This is why I love StarCraft 2. You can be a few units from defeat and then comeback and win. Now I only have 3 hours left on my guest pass.:v:

Now I only have 3 hours left on my guest pass.:v:[/QUOTE] Problem with playing 4v4 with AIs is that a human can play really well one moment and really shitty the next moment but an AI plays consistently with one skill level throughout. If you make a fuckup that would cost you the game normally it's mitigated by the rest of your team. All you have to do is be a little better than one computer player on average for your team to beat them. That's why I feel it gives the best representation of your skill to play 1v1 against AI.

Does anyone know hot to get the custom games novice achievement? It says "Win 3 solo evenly matched custom games against A.I opponents" but I've won 3 solo custom games and haven't gotten it yet. Maybe it means custom maps too? Not sure.

Anyone want to play a game of 1v1 one with me? I'm not that great and I'm no match against Koreans.

To anyone feeling like a complete dick to the Zerg on the final protoss mission. [sp]Spam dark templars and phoenixes. AI hardly brings overseers and overlords. When your base is about to get overrun. Go to a place where ground troops can't hit you with the phoenixes and just have fun with the mutalisk and AA air they send at you.[/sp]

I still don't know how to quit during a multiplayer game.

I know it's a bit late to ask this, but does anyone have a pass? My brother bought the game. He buys a lot of games, but doesn't play most of them, and I expected this to be the same. So I'm like "well okay free Starcraft 2!" Now he won't get off his computer. I need monies.
