raven with seeker missile, instant counter because it also detects burrowed enemies

also why wouldnt you detect those roaches with your comsat, there's no way he can get past you as terran
I took a look at the galaxy editor, and I wouldn't doubt it if you were able to set the aerodynamics of the unit's penis with all the options they have. This is going to be pretty fun to use.
So I love this game and all but I'm absolutely terrible at it.
I'm on a 9 loss streak in bronze 1v1's.
:(
Play against the AI until you understand how to play.

What's the correct format to get added to the OP? My character name is Jund, code 576.

Well I guess I can't beat a human until I can atleast beat medium AI.
You know, I was listening to Jem's Song, and it hit me.

Intro cinematic for SC1
Where do I put the maps I download?
How are you supposed to go about learning the SCII editor ins and outs? I really want to make custom scenarios or even a custom race, if I could only figure out how everything works and what is possible. A wiki or searchable documentation would really be nice right now... Doing it the hard way is far from enjoyable.

Tried this, and got crushed by medium AI.
Does anybody have any good strats? For any race really I don't prefer how one plays over another.
FUCK.
My computer went into sleep mode, and left my Starcraft download at 50%.
Fucking power save options.
how to counter a reaper rush: f10 n
the insane ai loves to reaper rush.
If you get put into a league if you climb up to #1 do you stay there or do you ascend to the next tier ladder?
Seriously how are people figuring out the editor and making tetris and shit. The editor is like a maze with no exit; how do you know what data types are and what they're used for?! How many educated guesses and experiments do I need go through before I can do something.
ugh it turns out the insane ai gets 7 minerals per trip on normal minerals. that seems to be the only difference between it and the very hard ai.
what the fuck, blizzard?
Anybody got any good MP strategies?
Alright Murdoco, I'm home now. You still up?

Sorry no viking.
Just won my first match :D
Roachs are way too good in in the beginning of the game.

Seems a little over-rated in my personal opinion. I'm playing the campaign now and it certainly feels good and I'm surprised I can enjoy playing such an old RTS formula without feeling bored or frustrated, but I wouldn't say it is anywhere close to "pretty much best PC game/RTS game ever made".
The mechanics and gameplay just feel extremely unintuitive and poorly designed compaired to many other RTS games I've played. It feels like I am playing a shiny CGI-huge-epeen version of Red Alert. I mean, not bad or anything, and the gameplay is balanced, fun and works at a simple level... but I wouldn't consider it one of the best RTS games ever like the metacritic score "claims"
I think mostly because I never played the first starcraft so I don't have nostalgia goggles, which is apparently half the experience of this game? :raise:

The true power comes from the Custom Maps.
Anybody got a GIF of the Roach's portrait?

Honestly, I've played tons of RTS games out there, like SupCom, TA, CoH, DoW games, all the RA games and shitload others back to Dune 2
But Starcraft always had this fun gameplay, it's the only RTS that in my opinion, had nailed every aspect nicely, like resource collection, base building, micromanagement, harassing, kiting were all aspects that worked extremely well and felt rewarding when extensively used
In SC2, they took those aspects and made them even better to create what is now my favorite online RTS, it has tremendous amounts of strategy macro and micro-wise and it's very skillful along with the whole strategy aspect
If I had to compare it with a modern RTS, for instance CoH, I'd say the battles in CoH feel very passive... it's mostly about watching your units do the work for you and what's with modern RTS games dropping resource collection for this territory shit? I really liked the part where you had to expand yourself around the map in SC to be able to squeeze as much income
Also the pace of the game just feels so right, in a game like Supreme Commander, the games are so extensively long, I mean does a game really need to last hours on end?
There's also tons of variety, no two units from two different race works the same or does the same thing, it's also another rare thing that modern RTS fail to do for some reason, I mean look at a game like DoW 2, which has a similar universe, all the races had the same basic mechanics of having fire team squads, melee squads, supression squads, etc
I mean that defeats the whole purpose of having multiple factions, the point is to vary their gameplay
Besides it has nothing to do with nostalgia goggles, SC2 is a sequel, not a remake or an homage to the original, people who are newcomers to the series should enjoy it as much as the guy who played the original for 12 years
Also you shouldn't base your views on a game on how popular it is
2v2 Platinum :D
8th in our league
