How do you counter Void Rays?
As terran, marines. Cheap, are the first unit and can be strong with all updates and medivaks.
Protoss should use stalkers, or later on carriers, since unless properly micro'd, the void rays might start attacking the interceptors.
And as zerg, mutas just rip through so many units, void rays included, and are so strong with the upgrades. Also hydras.
How the fuck do you defend against a zerg rush against two zerg players. And if you do counter them, will that set them back after losing all their zerg.
I'll probably buy this tomorrow, since almost everyone I know owns it. I suck at rts though. I still have nightmares from when a friend engineer-rushed me in Red Alert 2, and won.

If they both 6pool you're kinda screwed, no matter what.
If it's standard 13/14pool rush, you can set up a forge+photon canon/spine crawler/bunker if you suspect an early rush. Also, properly micro'd reaper can do wonder against zerglings that arn't on creep.
Okay seriously, what the FUCK is with [sp]that mission where you have to run away from the fire wall[/sp]. I only had time to build up a smallish force before I was pushed right up into the face of the enemy and I got completely OBLITERATED because of my small force, but I didn't even have a chance to make it larger because the resources ran out too quickly and I was constantly being forced to move due to the [sp]fire wall.[/sp]
Someone tell me how the fuck to beat that mission.
Build up a force, push in to the next base, move buildings, rinse, repeat
[editline]06:43PM[/editline]
It sounds like you just need to improve your macro to get a force as big as you need when you have to move
Yeah the mission isn't that hard, I did it really fast.
Marauders, medics, banshees. 1-2 tanks to siege up in the enemy base to make killing all their shit faster.
this game is so good
I'm jealous reading about all these people playing I can't wait till I can afford it!
Its awesome! Look at some of the stuff on the hyperion. Epic stuff right there.
Managed it my second time thanks to my army of Thors who distracted the enemy while I put a nuke on the objective :v: It annoys me when you think you've done all the objectives in the map and there's a hidden one, though. Where was the hidden objective on [sp]the level where you run from the fire wall[/sp]? I explored almost all over that map, apart from in the huge Protos bases.
I'm watching an SC2 stream. He won once because the enemy left. He lost once because he left. He is always playing against protoss.. and he plays Terran. EMP rapes protoss.
This is what I have learned.
[editline]04:44PM[/editline]
I also learned what happens at the end of the campaign thanks to some guy in the chat. Also I learned that protoss is the best race.
EMP should not rape a good protoss player, all they need is a high templar with feedback. It basically comes down to who clicks first the ghost or the templar. Plus the protoss player can just retreat and let the shields recharge, it will take longer for the ghost to get his energy back. Obviously it does help the Terran player as energy is used on feedback instead of storm but it doesn't "rape" protoss.
I need help with the Challenge "Opening Gambit" Every time I try to do it I just don't seem to have enough stuff to defend. Once the roaches arrive they obliterate all my marines and just destroy my front defenses. Any ideas?
Just played 2v2 with a friend. He died within the first 3 minutes due to zerg rush. What I did was build a lot of stalkers and one collossus and waited at my bases chokepoint. Then after their attack I rushed their base with my remaining units and won 2v1. Might not sound that exciting but it was.
In Complete Darkness is such an awesome mission.
Just fought a Protoss who sent out a builder within the first minute of the game. Nothing unusual about that, I thought he was scouting.
Then he starts warping in Photon Cannons.
I'm going to do this if I play Protoss ever.
(also i still beat him, just flew my base to the natural and marine rushed the void rays he quick built)
Ughhh this opening gambit challenge is fucking hard. It's the last bronze I need so I can get the wolf portrait.
In Complete Darkness is such an awesome mission.
In Utter Darkness? It's completely impossible on hard. I managed to hold off most of their ground forces up to 1300 kills, then they swarmed with detection(I was using DTs to make a wall at each ramp), shit loads of air units and nydus worms. Nothing can defend against 200+ zerg units PLUS the [sp]hybrids[/sp] all at once.
Just fought a Protoss who sent out an observer within the first minute of the game.
uhh that's not possible

He means probe.
What the fuck, something has bugged with my achivements. I completed In Utter Darkness, should have gotten 2 of the Achivements but didn't. I also finished the Protos Xenobiology achievement but didn't get it.
I haven't activated any cheats and I'm connected to B.net, what the hell is this? :saddowns:

If you disconnect at any point during a mission it doesn't give you achievement progress for the rest of it >:
But I haven't, I disconnected once a few hours back then re-connected after I finished the mission.
Does this mean I can't get achievements for this save any more just because of the arbitrary "always on" system?

You can't get achievement credit for a mission if you weren't connected to the internet 100% of the time throughout. When you were disconnected for the mission you lost your chance >:. And yeah, always on is retarded. Who cares that much about achievements?

Um doesn't he have to build a pylon in your base for that.
It's not so much the achievements I care about but I want a different avatar :v:
Um doesn't he have to build a pylon in your base for that.
Of course he did, it was just irrelevant to the story o.O
Of course he did, it was just irrelevant to the story o.O
How did he let the thing build a pylon in his base
How did he let the thing build a pylon in his base
It's actually fairly easy. I've had people do it on my team and had it done to me a couple of times. They just have to get lucky and catch you look at your base and they pop it down in a darkened corner. It's not economical in the early game to sit builders around so that they reveal your whole base.
I just had an amazingly easy free for all match. Everyone played defense for the first 20 minutes of the game. Then one of the zerg attacked me and lost. Then I kept building more and more. He tried again and lost. I rushed his base and he rage quitted so I found no need to destroy everything. I then rushed the protoss and crushed his base quite easily. Then there was another zerg. I rushed his base but this time when I got close to his main base he killed me off. But I had destroyed 2 of his lairs/hives and slowed down his productivity. I created 5 more thors. 5 more battlecruisers, 8 more medivacs, 30 more marines, 10 more marauders, and rushed his base again. This time I win. It was a great game.
