Scan isnt for finding out where the enemy is (You can see where he is on the loading screen his position is marked on the map) its for finding out what they are upto, what they are teching into and then countering whatever they're teching into.
Really? I could've sworn that it would always show the default positions, like just opposite each other rather than the actual positions.

Well everytime iv scanned where it showed on the map the enemys been there.
Also fuck sake i was just dropped from a game for no reson, they had just pushed against me and i was about to counter attack and win.
It seems there may be drophacking in SC2 :saddowns:
What makes you think that?
Build some zerglings for early harassing/defence? then work on the mutas, really its better to spend some of your reasources defending etc than loosing the game outright.
Guess i should give that a go, however its a numbers war, guess i can do more damage with 4 early 'lings on their eco then trying to defend against 20 odd marines with like 8. while my spire is constructing :p

True, while your teching to mutas though its about survival, also when you get to mutas you may want to make units that counter whatever counters mutas, you dont want all your chances of winning pinned on a single unit.

Scout the enemy initially, if they don't have a fleet of flyers ready generally a mutalisk rush will overrun whatever defense they have.

That's why I always have my rally for AA (vikings/cruisers) set to be somewhere that's not in my base, usually in the sky.

Because of what happened to Auster, and also one my friends was playing a 1v1 but the the game started lagging and came up with a text box asking him if he wanted to surrender every few seconds while the person next to him using the same internet was playing fine.

Its actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it.
The game feels a lot like WC3 to me.

Guess the moment i do is the moment i get out of bronze league
Holy shit I just had the best match I've ever had in a Starcraft game.
So I go for Mutalisks and start harassing him, so he goes for Hydras. I expected the game to be quick, so I only made 1 expansion. Anyway from the beginning it's clear he's gaining the upper hand, I manage to keep his Hydras at bay with Banelings, but I'm running out of time.
I upgrade to the Hive and GSpire and start making Broodlords (attacking his base with Mutas was suicide), but I'm seriously running low on resources by now. I manage to make 4 Broodlords and decide that this is it, I attack his base (trying to keep away from where Hydras could go), and start wreaking some serious havok, but my Broodlords die one by one to his Hydras (which are much faster, and hit&run becomes hard).
I manage to put out 3 more BDs to join the last one, and just when my BDs leave my base his army of Hydras arrive at my main base and raze it. At this point I was about to GG, but I manage to hold them off my expansion with a mixture of Zerglings, Queen and loads of Drones (yes, Drones, I was desperate). At this point it all follows a routine: I build as much of anything as I can to defend from his Hydras while my Broodlords try to destroy his bases, and he keeps making new ones all over the place.
Anyways my luck runs out, he overwhelms my only base (destroying the Lair) and kills all my Drones but the last one manages to kill his last Hydra, thankfully I had stockpiled 6k minerals and 3k gas (which lasted me easily until the end of the game).
I immediately make a Hatchery (which I then upgrade to a Lair) with the last worker, and start spawning 3 Drones, one for a Spawning Pool, one for the Roach Warren and one for the Hydralisk Den. Here it all starts over (only worse than before), I'm sitting there spawning Zerglings madly trying to hold him off with anything (I had recalled my Broodlords to defend, giving me a chance) while he attacks me with Hydras. In the end I manage to start spawning Hydras and Roaches so I send off my Broodlords to his base and start killing his Queens and workers, but the Hydras ultimately manage to kill the three last BDs.
A glimmer of hope! While the BDs kept him busy I had managed to build up 6 Roaches, 6 Hydras and 15 Zerglings so I counter-attack, smash his 6-7 Hydras and start razing his base. Turns out it was his last base (and since there was only one entrance, his Drones couldn't flee) and he GGs. Had he built more bases than one, he would have easily won (he probably thought I was dead anyways).
I'd love to buy this game but I'm off to 'merica in two weeks for a month :(
Also, APM is Actions per Minute right?
Yes.
Fuck, the campaign on Hard is too.. hard.. for me. :smith:
Hell, It's about time I got this game.
I might have the lowest "APM" in the world.
But I don't mind, I try not to play with strangers too often so they don't get disapointed with how much I suck.

I did win a match in 6 minutes the other day though, I felt pro :v:

Some how in nearly all my replays I see I have a much (like 40% or more) higher APM than my opponents, but I never hotkey, everything I do is with the mouse (not that I give a crap about APM anyway, but it's nice to see I'm not alone in using the mouse only).
i only use the mouse so far :ohdear: and i have an APM of about.. 2.
Just had a good game, 2v2 and I was Zerg. I sent 16 speedlings early on and wiped out the Terrans base easily. He didn't quit though. So, we see that the Protoss is spamming Void Rays, so I go corrupter/muta and my partner gets a mothership along with Void Rays and Stalkers. We clashed in the middle and destroyed his 15 odd Void Rays easily! He just left.
My first 2v2 placement win!

hey i only use the mouse as well! i usualy end up with a higher APM as well :respek:
I suck at this game. I have only won 3 out of 15 or so games.
Me and my friend is doing pretty good in 2v2 seeing as we are both newcomers.
We went from rank 40 bronze league to rank 5 silver in about two days. We only play about three to four matches each day.

I only play with some really good friends against the AI, if there are people rigging the league it simply sucks.
I can't wait to get this game....
Want to try out the editor now!!!

Won an hour long 2v2, me and my teammate took out one of the other team in about 10 minutes with 12 mutalisks, and the other guy quit after around an hour, he turtled for so long that we had a base on every single mineral vein and vespene gas vent on the map excluding his, and everything outside his base was covered by creep.

I have to be honest it kind of sounds like you were turtling even more than him if you needed every expansion before you finished him off.
