What I like to do is have a proxy pylon in my enemy's main, and when they go for a first rush I warp in a bunch of zealots and go for the mineral line. He loses his economy and his main forces if I take them out at the sane time. Usually leads to a gg
doesn't work when they're using reapers and you waste all of your money on zealots trying to destroy their base.
they go straight for your base and destroy you while you try to kill them :(
it was a good game though

My guess: http://sc2armory.com/forums/topic/18020
Only a guess.

huge textures and no streaming
If anyone has a guest pass, would they be kind enough to send one to me? I want my friend to try it.
Some moron on protoss ran into one of my friend's bases on 2v2 in the very beginning and began to spam cannons/pylons. I guess he expected me to waste all my resources to take out his cannons(?) but instead I just sent 4 marines and a marauder to his base, took it out with no resistance. His friend was a bit more resilient but he fell after I sent some medivacs with marines.
I can really see myself getting better at this game, I find myself winning more and more games as I'm able to predict what people are going to do. Silver league here I come :black101:
I refuse to play online because my mom's name is listed for the RealID(WoW account crap). And Blizzard's phone lines are clogged. This is not fair.
People can't see your real name unless they add you as a real friend (using your email).
The AI are lame because they rush incredibly fast at the higher levels which is usually not indicative of regular play.
I just beat the campaign([sp]shat bricks at the end, shed a tear as well[/sp]), but I refuse to play online because my mom's name is listed for the RealID(WoW account crap). And Blizzard's phone lines are clogged. This is not fair.
So don't add anyone as a Read ID friend?
Still struggling to get the Protoss 'off the ground' so to speak in time, I start producing my first few combat units, and often get half a squad of zerg or terrans rushing me..

texture streaming in a fast paced rts lol
the textures are loaded into vram anyway, if you have enough. if not, lower texture settings.

how is that lol
texture streaming prevents memory clog up which makes load times unbearable
has anyone beat the campaign on brutal? i'm going to try it and i was wondering if anyone had some tips besides the obvious mass marines/marauders/medics and siege tanks everywhere.

I've done most of the missions on brutal.
The only ones I couldn't beat on brutal was the Protoss last stand mission (2500 kills) and the last mission where you have to choose to take out air or ground.
If you have any questions I'll be happy to answer.

Since streaming from disk is best suited to FPS', and not RTS' with players with 150+ APM. It would not be able to keep up, and would just make performance worse. It's better to have an easily bearable load time and no stuttering in game, than to be held back by the shit speed of HDDs.
Plus, it's suited to streaming in far away objects as you get close to them. That doesn't happen in an RTS so it would look awful.

what are you talking about
the problem with starcraft is that there's no cache in which textures are dropped from memory and back so it has to dump everything into memory which is ineffective and slower than texture streaming. with texture steaming textures can be dropped out and in of the pool when it's necessary
it's got nothing to do with HDD's because if you run out of memory they get loaded anyway and that causes noticeable pauses in maps that have a lot of things going on.
Anyone play nexus wars? I just played a dude who blocked the bottom entrance with lings, diverted everything to the top, let it run for a while, then blocked off top and halted all production on his side. Once everyone on his team massed the max cap he opened up the top block and unleashed hell. He smashed us.
I tried to replicate what he did, but failed 2/3 times, jeez.
I've got two EU guest passes, pm me for one

I'm still waiting to get enough money to buy it.
When I do, hit me up on Facebook and we'll play some time.
For some reason it's really bitchy about where I place my minerals(like 90% of the place) any way to fix this?
Are you talking about the world builder?
In that case shift + lclick
I hate it when people who are good at the game pretend to be new.
They bitch when you beat their ass saying you should go easy and they brag acting like they tricked you (I mean really?) when they win, it's just retarded. Whenever I see a person who says they are new I just don't bother talking to him. A new player asks questions at the end of a match, not saying they are new at the beginning like you're suppose to go easy on them.
I love two pronged attacks have a few tanks and marines taking out the front, while vikings come in from behind for the economical kill.
Starcraft 2 keeps minimizing during the campaign daaaaaamnit.
Awesome, managed to get decals to show in the World Editor. I'm getting the hang of the bastard.

The load times in SC2 aren't that bad except for some maps which take around a minute to load.

It's 2500 kills on Brutal!? I could just barely get 2250 for the achievement on Normal!
-chu- is fucking fantastic at microing. I mean it.
Me and a friend got spammed with units by all three team mates and -chu- won the game on his own. Then there was a game where we controlled 2/3rds the map. Was epic.

Chu is also korean and was one of the top players of Heroes of Newerth until sc2 came out.
Think he's a pro at every RTS :(
