I think it might just be any map with zombies in it because even urbanwarefare does it. Although I was able to play it once and kill a zombie, open a door and crash.

I get occasional crashes during HL2 campaign maps (Most often when gibs get stuck in objects and the physics go bonkers) but it isn't a common occurrence.
I personally hate dm_motel, but I love the zombie urbanwarfare :D

Are you playing with both player difficulty and enemy AI oh highest?
I am, and I find it quite easy to get overwhelmed on that map with the ump, grenade, and shotgun.
Difficulty: SMOD
Enemy AI: Impossible
Anything else I can do?
Oh, and all I used on that map was the Five-SeveN, M3, and Butterfly.
Use the UMP and the Kimber[or five seven] with a laser point in third person with no ironsights.
And run around the entire map without checking corners too carefully.
Or open the map spawn file and up the number of zombies like I did.
Makes it really feel like 28 days later.
But the UMP isn't given at the insertion point...
But sure, I'll try that runaround thing. But that'd just line them up, wouldn't it? I've killed three zombies with one shotgun blast doing that seeing as their AI is so clunky they run into each other.

Hey, I just noticed something awesome. The game now has rigid body physics! If you shoot a wall or something, little physics objects (like rocks or dirt) come out, and are completely physics enabled. I even had barnacles pick them up once!
