Is there any way to increase the mob spawn rate? I'd love hordes of creepers, skeletons and zombies fucking my shit up.
Ok i can play single player fine it works and plays smooth
I join a multi player game, its ok for 10 secs then i cant edit anything and when i send a message it takes 4 mins to appear.
After a while i get an error something like java socket extension, it always starts with that then says random stuff every time
If you have a fix please post as i have never player MC multi player

I've been hosting a server for me and my friend that has worked perfectly for the last few days. Today it's just timing out for him despite it working just fine for me. The server seems to choose when it wants to work, any ideas?
How come on any multiplayer server I join, I cannot destroy blocks. On PvP outside of protected areas I cant. I know its not lag and I know its not the server? Any help?

Are Creepers getting smarter/more explodey? Never had a problem with them until my most recent world, where they'd tend to ambush me, chase me, and explode much more easily.
Also, have the spawn rates gone up? In this world, I spawned and settled on a small peninsula. Every night, the island is absolutely swarmed with monsters. I'm talking covered with creepers, zombies, skeletons and spiders. I've never seen so many creatures in one spot in my long time playing the game, it's insane.
I've seen people make lava flows, and the last small block/flow is floating. How is it done?
If I'm thinking of the same thing you are, they position it so that the last block of the lava 'hangs' over a block that has a ladder on the side of it. The ladder basically holds up the lava.
Some dirt in certain areas are as dark as obsidian, it's not a lighting glitch or part of a texture pack.
Does the rain make it dark?
I appear to have a lag issue in Minecraft. However I did a network check and the lag seems odd. Any help?

A download window should pop up asking you to save the skin, you are downloading the skin from the skin database itself. Do not type www. or [url]http://www[/url]. in front of it as it doesn't seem to work(?)

You ARE using a texture pack updated for 1.5, correct? There used to be an obsidian block where the new grayscale grass side block is.
If it's not that, rain DOES make it dark outside, and it's possible there could be a problem with the lighting system (small holes are particularly dark compared to blocky lighting).

has anybody got the minecraft save where theres a gigantic (circular i think?) fortress that somebody provided a while back and it had everything a player could need like farms and empty plots for building stuff? i can't remember if it had an exact name but i think I'd recognize it if i saw a picture of it again
also is there an inventory editor for single player where you don't have to close down the game to get your stuff, preferably without modding

Unfortunately, despite the fact that I entered the seed like this:
level-seed=10110101
It still had a completely random seed.
Does anyone use peaceful? Sometimes (on my main world) I really want to use it when I get pissed off at mobs for blowing the shit out of me and want to turn it on, but I don't want to feel like a pussy by doing so.

I am not sure where you're going with this. Have you previously entered this seed and gotten a different spawn? Spawn location is random within some reasonably short distance of spawn, to my knowledge.

Peaceful is just fine - it's in the game, so use it! I prefer Normal myself.

I have 3GB RAM, Crysis 2 runs fine. How do you run it, as it takes up about 75% of my RAM..
Anyway, Ontopic: Why when a server has 0 players on it (or a singleplayer world is not loaded) does redstone fuck up? As if power is going though repeaters they just freeze there?

Start a world in SP with that seed and copy it over.
