The thing with The Sacrifice being on L4D2 is that they didn't want people who liked the Passing and only had L4D2 to buy L4D1 in order to play The Sacrifice. So they are importing the resources from L4D1 (characters, sounds, animations) so that you can play The Sacrifice in L4D2.
I am calling the first part of the comic to come out on September 3rd.
It probably isn't even in development,
Hahahahaha! haha, ha ha.. If they don't talk about the game it doesn't mean that they are not developing it.. Did you know that games are started to develop years before first mentions about it? When did you first heard about Half Life 2? In 2003. But the game was developed since 1998. GTA IV has started it's development about a year before San Andreas was even released.
No really do you think they start to develop EP3 month before they will announce it?
You guys probably don't know how does development work. It's not like 5 guys are sitting in the offie and deciding what should we do next - "Ok let's develop the passing and then we will switch to EP3". Valve is 250 developers who go to a full time work 5 days a week. 250 animators, mappers, programmers... What do you think they are doing there? One mapper can make a great 5 hour mod in a year. I'm not a pro mapper but I made a l4d map in a size a little bigger than first No Mercy map in a week by working 2-3 hours a day.

There's 250 devs in valve and each of them knows a lot more than me, and they work 8 hours a day, for a lot of years. Some of them make Left 4 Dead DLC's, some of them make TF2 updates, some of them make EP3, some of them are making titles that you will not hear about until about 2015. If a team is working on EP3, no other project can affect them. If they need to make a campaign to L4D, they take people that just finished working on TF2 big update. Leaving EP3 untouched. 8 guys made original portal, think about it. They can do a lot at one time.
I'm sad how short that Co Op trailer was. :(
Well wait until PAX, there will probably be some ingame footage
I wish they were a bit more clear on what's going on though. I they let me play Zoey in L4D2's campaigns.
Anybody have a link to the video? I missed it.

No, they're letting people play as L4D1 survivors in L4D1 maps with L4D2 weapons.
Oh god. The dynamic lighting is sexy.

Just awesome.
Now no one will play Left 4 Dead, and Left 4 Dead 2 will really be an upgrade for Left 4 Dead.
this means even less time spend on episode 3!
Anyway, looking forward to the comic and the campaigns.
the half life team and left 4 dead team are 2 seperate teams!!!!!

Don't forget that Valve is not one of those devs that rehashes old gameplay mechanics and spews out copy+paste level design. Developing new gameplay mechanics and working on new shader algorithms and AI and shit is not easy and takes time. Look at the difference between Hl1 and Hl2 in terms of technology. It was a massive step that no other franchise has seen in terms of technology.
Anyone else love the music in that co-op teaser? It's shaping up to be a great soundtrack.
I like the whole TF2 story thing so far :colbert:
TF2 is a Demolition company and a Building company fighting over land. I just play it because I am a great spy :ninja:

Can you add something to keep the zombies out of the safe room? A nav mark perhaps?

There are also all the TF2 comics detailing backgrounds of some classes as well as RED and BLU's owners, Redmond and Blutarch, as well as how they've stayed alive so long.
Edit: Also nobody expressed concern for a lack of Bill lines this campaign?

That was an unfinished map, When (IF) I will finish this campaign, I will ofcourse polish it. You can download the map if you really want to here: http://www.l4dmaps.com/details.php?file=2835
I just told my friend about the L4D comic and he said "Lol, who wants to read that?". Sigh...
Could someone link me to the video, if it was every put online? I fell asleep waiting for it. :sigh:

You think No Mercy will only be accessible to people who own Left 4 Dead 1? I sure as hell hope I don't have to reinstall the first game.
Don't forget that Valve is not one of those devs that spews out copy+paste level design.
One of EP1 maps is copy pasted from HL2. But who cares, they experimented with quick episodes then.
You think No Mercy will only be accessible to people who own Left 4 Dead 1? I sure as hell hope I don't have to reinstall the first game.
Nope, they said it was gonna be free along with The Sacrifice.
You think No Mercy will only be accessible to people who own Left 4 Dead 1? I sure as hell hope I don't have to reinstall the first game.
It's a different No Mercy, re-made for Left 4 Dead 2 (techically, not visually). So there won't be any Gmod stuff (I installed L4D - I can have it's maps in L4D2)
I hope they do something about the rooftop finale.
Reach the top of the ladder, oop, charged off.
[editline]11:42PM[/editline]
Then again any halfway decent player can bait or dodge chargers, but still it will become even more dangerous for survivors.
Everybody is talking about that misery called l4d but it seems nobody noticed that in portal 2 they are changing voice actors...
