Crysis 2 Letdown - Games - Facepunch Forum

You sound like console players are only dumb fucks. Well the story changes but it can get better, maybe there are some references or old characters involved. Who knows, but don't judge the whole game if you haven't heard much about the game.

Was expecting some baww-ish related to "Consolization". Was not dissapointed. Also, they're releasing comics or a book (a book if I remember correctly) that bridges the story from Crysis/WH to Crysis 2.

So what if they're ditching the story from the first? The first's story was just tacked on to let you experience the beautiful island graphics, low grav, snow, etc. It had no substance whatsoever. And yes, it sounds like a bad thing because it is. (in my eyes)

It wasn't tacked on, but it was still pretty bad, imho that fit it, Far Cry was supposed to be a crappy B-movie, and Crysis was supposed to be an average Hollywood flick, those usually have pretty throwaway plots in favor of impressive effects and over the top action. The problem is they leave you on a cliffhanger and don't resolve it, that's a pretty dick move regardless of how improved the story is.

Nobody knows the full story of Crysis 2 yet, they'll probably fill us in what happened after the first. Only mega dicks would leave it behind.

In my opinion the only thing that sucked with Crysis one is the almost non-existent story, however it's not as clusterfucked as modern warfare 2's story, I still don't know what the problem is with the aliens, I think they're fun to kill.

I don't recall ever reading/hearing that power struggle was taken out. What are you guys talking about? Their trailer likes to talk about their "6 Game Modes!" I can't imagine those "6 game modes" being 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, etc. Let's be realistic here.

It doesn't look as interesting or unique as the first game.

I was disappointed with the first one so I can't see this being any better.

Aliens ruined the first Crysis for me. Oh sure, fighting Koreans would get boring after a while, but I hated the way they did the aliens. After the floating around level you just fought the same two enemies over and over again, who never did anything different. If they made the aliens do more things (Like in Crysis 2, they look cool) it would have been better.

PC is much better, but is it bad that the consoles get the game too? The OP makes no sense. He's like "OMFG WTF DO THE CONSOLZ GET CRYSIS 2 2 OMG WTF"

I dunno, I'm not a big console gamer myself but I think multiplatform development is a good move for Crytek. The more popular their games end up the better quality they'll strive for.

whatever. I'm just going to get it for PC, play SP once, then get as many Custom Levels as I can because I freaking love some of the custom SP levels for the first one.

People Are Bitching About the original story/gameplay, quit bitching the game was fun, the story was basic but still fun to play through.

Uh, OP, you play as Nomad in Crysis 2 so I'm pretty sure you'll find out "what happens to him".
