I can't wait to play the game :v: Possible to play singleplayer too?
There's no singleplayer as such. Just a 'practice' mode which is basically you and a few bots. I don't even think there's an option for bot count so you could end up with a really big map but only like 6 bots on each team. It's a multiplayer game at heart.
Alright, just gonna play the practice mode a bit then. Damn I can't wait!
If someone is really generous could they send me a guest pass please :) steam - Ashbash92
Sure ;) I'll add you right away, just bought the game so I have 2 keys :v:

Anyone who hasn't tried out Darkest Hour yet definitely should, I find it better than RO.
I find the game a tad hard currently, I'll keep on playing though :v: Any good servers to recommend?
How do you check your achievements? Or did they forget to add that in?

Not only that, but with the weird spawn system in that room, the bots will try to go through doors before they open up.
Anyone who hasn't tried out Darkest Hour yet definitely should, I find it better than RO.
How do you find it better than RO exactly? Darkest Hour is really nothing special IMO. [editline]10:51PM[/editline]
How do you check your achievements? It's next to impossible to find a populated server with good ping that isn't just 24/7 arad.
Uh- what? Do you have your settings on local only or something?
How do you find it better than RO exactly? Darkest Hour is really nothing special IMO.
Uh.. how? :downs: [editline]09:14PM[/editline] Never mind found out
I've been looking for a good WW2 game for a long time, played BF1942 to death, might aswell try Red Orchestra :v: Looks bloody awesome!
you will not be disapointed, just DON'T play the single player. the bots are retarded.
you will not be disapointed, just DON'T play the single player. the bots are retarded.
I found out about the bots :v: Had to learn the controls 100% so I played against the bots :downs: I fucking love this game already!
How are some of you guys playing Darkest Hour? The steam server browser says there isn't any servers. :(
Steam's server list seems to be broke with DH. there actually are servers
How are some of you guys playing Darkest Hour? The steam server browser says there isn't any servers. :(
Just select a server from the game. There's plenty.
I found out about the bots :v: Had to learn the controls 100% so I played against the bots :downs: I fucking love this game already!
it is great, my favorite part about it is using the anti-tank weapons and seeing that whole tank just come crashing down...
I've always wondered what's the thing with almost all servers having the incorrect number of players, until you select them, like 245/60 players and so on. Why?
I've always wondered what's the thing with almost all servers having the incorrect number of players, until you select them, like 245/60 players and so on. Why?
Replying issues I guess
Anyone who is still interested in this game can feel free to join the 386th ventrilo. Quite a few of us have been playing Darkest Hour. Just jump on and see who's doing what, might ask if anyone wants to play if people are just in the lounge. Info is as follows: silver.typefrag.com 65407 password is essayons
I bought this game some years ago when it was still 50 - 40 euros here. Also this game rocks!
How do you find it better than RO exactly? Darkest Hour is really nothing special IMO.
Let's see: Fresh setting (european campaign) Fresh units and weapons Fresh vehicles and most of all: BETTER SUPPRESSION SYSTEM.
I bought this yesterday, I really have no idea what I'm doing. Every server I go on, people just shout at me for doing something wrong. Can anyone explain what the objectives are? How I know who to shoot and basically, what I'm supposed to do altogether with? ):

Also aim a bit higher then the enemy.

Set up machine guns in behind friendly troops and fire into the backs of your comrades, refer to above if you need an excuse. Grab useful kits (MG, Sniper, and SL) and hide in the corner of the map finishing the round in the bottom 5% of your team, claim that you helped your team win and make sure to type "GG noobs" One man tanks and when you get knocked out by a light tank claim that the game sucks and it needs to be balanced. If the tank is full, call the driver seat and ram those enemy tanks, when it respawns blame the tank gunner. Melee teammates as soon as you spawn so they drop their weapons and grab them, leaving your shitty bolt-action rifle behind. Your teammates will take it as a complement. Toss grenades into teammate packed building inside your lines claiming that you saw germans inside. Hip-fire whenever possible. Dolphin diving with the MG-42 is great. The MP-40 is more accurate than a K-98 at long ranges. The only good map is 24/7 danzig, if it gets changed start screaming in voice chat for a new map. If you grab squad leader make sure you toss both the smoke grenades in spawn. Spotting your teammates with the binocs and calling the radio gets you special support options. The panzerfaust is the best anti-infantry weapon in the game., however it is useless against tanks, if you pick the panzer-grenadier kit make sure you never ever kill tanks. Don't use the AT rifle against enemy light-vehicles, instead use it on teammates rear armor of tanks. If you receive the sniper kit, toss the sniper rifle outside of the map in minefields and tell teammates that they can have it, always use the hand-gun as a sniper.
Oh I almost forgot, always be sure to drive in vehicles alone and if someone tries to get in with you scream at them until they get out. If they don't get out teamkill them.
I understand you were trying to be funny with your post, but these just aren't true. 1. Hip fire should only happen when you have an unexpected target at close range. Trust me, you'll be quicker on the shot and more accurate if you take it carefully inside of buildings walking with your sights up and slowly circling corners. Hell that applies to anywhere that's not in the open. 2. No, it's not. If you find the MP-40 more accurate, there is something wrong with you. 3. The panzerfaust does fine against tanks, hell, it does TOO GOOD against tanks. Just hit it from the right angle and its a one shot kill.

I don't even play RO anymore. I just play Darkest Hour. The 29th ID servers are pretty good, always a good set of people playing who know what they're doing.
