^Hey I saw you on Darkest Hour that was a fun match.
Who here remembers X-Play's review of this game? I do, and it was the day X-Play's credibility went down the crapper. http://g4tv.com/games/pc/34809/red-orchestra-ostfront-41-45/review/
Although I do more or less agree with them, I find it sad that they judge a game based on personal taste rather than it's own merits.
You mean you would like this game if it was a shitty, generic FPS? Go play WaW.
Well I'm not the type who is a fan of realism. Personally I don't see the point of realism in a video game because I always believed video games are meant to take you out of reality, not put you into it. But if you are going to create a realistic video game then don't add silly things that shouldn't be there. For example moving the gun but not your character. That's not realistic, who the hell would keep their body still and aim their weapon around? Same for bobbing the weapons around like an ADHD child when using iron sights. I'm pretty sure people in the military knew how to keep their guns steady and hold their breathe to pull a shot. If you HAVE to have annoying breath bobbing, add a hold breath button or something. That's just what I dislike about 'realistic' video games. They put annoying and frustrating little things instead of actual realistic things.
I fucking love the game. Amazing. Though Im horrible with the rifles.

Its a perfectly fine game and just because you suck at it doesn't mean its shitty.

Maybe not so much with a pistol but with a 2 handed weapon you would move AT LEAST your upper body. Not just moving your gun. Seriously it feels like playing Red Steel with a mouse.
Did I say it was shitty? And yes you would. Maybe not so much with a pistol but with a 2 handed weapon you would move AT LEAST your upper body. Not just moving your gun.
And that's exactly what happens in the game. You move your arms with the gun around until it's too far to reach by only moving your hands and that's when you move your upper body. What, are you trying to say that holding the gun directly in front of you all the time and never moving the gun away from that position is more realistic?
Wow Danzig is the most unbalanced map I've seen so far, it's a turkey shoot for the Germans.
Russians just need a good team, especially the SL with his smoke.

Bought this game, raged, then loved it.
Well duh, I'm sure people in the military were trained not to waste their time moving their arms to aim until they couldn't move any further and switch to moving their body.
Yeah, they were trained to glue their arms in place so their gun would be directly in front of them NO MATTER WHAT.
Russians just need a good team, especially the SL with his smoke.
Every time they pop a smoke that just gives Nazis the chance to come out and retake the bridges, hide and camp in any spot they can find, and generally make it impossible for Russians to get anywhere. :\ [editline]11:30AM[/editline]
Well duh, I'm sure people in the military were trained not to waste their time moving their arms to aim until they couldn't move any further and switch to moving their body.
I don't think conscripts back then were trained to do much of anything.
artillery spam as officer on kommersheidt in DH is so much win
Well duh, I'm sure people in the military were trained not to waste their time moving their arms to aim until they couldn't move any further and switch to moving their body.
stop while you still can
How do people enjoy the ridiculously huge custom tank maps, the regular ones are small and and capture points are somewhat linear so there's opportunity for teamwork and exciting battles, but on a giant one even on a team of 25 everyone is just going to be so spread out that no one knows what is going on. The worst part is that there's rarely anyone around to get in a tank with you so you have to do everything by yourself. Also I know this is supposed to be realism but driving at a constant 40mk/h down an empty road for 10 minutes just to die in a second is not so great.
to bad i didn't have access to facebook when the whole get the game free promotion started :[
This game was very cool, it beats Operation Flashpoint 2, but i don´t know about Arma2. What is better Arma2 or Red Orchestra: Osfront 41-45. I know different eras, and weapons and tactics, but come on, those two games are all about conflict simulation. And those two made an exelent job!
Ah why am I not surprised. Talk about something negative about a game/dislike it and fantards get their panties in a bunch and throw a hissy fit at you.

The only similarity is the weapon aiming system.
I have a ton of fun playing offline with bots but everytime I play online I end up spending ten minutes getting to the capture points only to get shot and die.
Ah why am I not surprised. Talk about something negative about a game/dislike it and fantards get their panties in a bunch and throw a hissy fit at you.
no it's just that you're not really putting up a good argument
I have seen tons of times where the russians wins on Danzig and tons of times where the germans wins. Anyways Danzig is messed up with some glitches, I found a spot where i can just lie down and get stuck and the whole enemy team will try to kill you. Even though you are somehow invincible and you can just bayonet kill em. The best glitches you find are the ones you accidentaly pop into too.
Ah why am I not surprised. Talk about something negative about a game/dislike it and fantards get their panties in a bunch and throw a hissy fit at you.
It's not their fault that your argument was crappy and poorly founded.
50 players on Danzig = meatgrinder.
I would like this game a lot more if the realism wasn't so over done.
I... what? What do you mean overdone? It's supposed to border on simulation levels of realism for squad-based combat. [editline]05:07PM[/editline]
And yes you would. Maybe not so much with a pistol but with a 2 handed weapon you would move AT LEAST your upper body. Not just moving your gun.
No, I wouldn't. Not if I had the weapon shouldered (or even more so at my hip,) which is the only way you can free-aim in Red Orchestra.
I asked people if they wanted aircraft in RO2, and they all told me to go play FH2.
Well Aircraft doesn't certainly fit into the game series. Maps aren't big enough.
Is it just me or does RO have less servers that it usually does? DH has alot more servers than it.
Is it just me or does RO have less servers that it usually does? DH has alot more servers than it.
Probably because they get to play as Americans/Brits. Most people in the west tend to forget how essential the Russians were in winning WW2. (Don't think I'm supporting Russians or the US specifically here. WW2 wouldn't have been won unless they both entered the war.)
What if russia joined germany
