Arad? It's pretty easy if you know WWII uniform recognition. I learned it from looking at Osprey book illustrations.
Or you could just not be a colour-blinded moron and tell the difference between grey and brown or grey and white in the winter.
I just bought the game :D [editline]10:26PM[/editline] Anyoen want to play vanilla RO with me?
There's an event notice and an announcement about June 6th on the steam group. Read it.
Just to make it more easy for people:
June 6 @ 10:00pm In commemoration of D-Day and the Normany invasion 65 years ago, we will be gaming in Darkest Hour (A western front mod for RO, GET IT IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT). The event will start at 3 PM Central US, but will continue for the rest of the day so show up and play. I'd like to have a really big turnout for those so invite your friends that have the game and get them in the group so we can just join a server and don't have to harbor on another one being full. I'd like to have at least 30 or more people turn out so make it happen guys, and see you there!
[editline]10:37AM[/editline] Obviously I will be there, but I know nooone with the game
Just installed Darkest Hour and joined the FP group.
The main thing is be in the steam group and join chat when the time comes.
I hope I can get my bloody mic to work by then :D
My god I just got torn to pieces by two machine gunners
I hope I can get my bloody mic to work by then :D
Don't really need it unless you're in charge of a squad or something. Warfare goes more smoothly the less people are talking.
god... not played it in a while. played the omaha map just to gets to grips with it again. AI is awful
AI is a pisstake. They know where you are before they see you.
I'll be there. Right, so it starts... at two PM for me. [editline]07:43PM[/editline]
AI is a pisstake. They know where you are before they see you.
Yeah, but then they don't recognize you and if they do fire can't hit the broad side of the fucking SKY.
More fun playing online. [editline]12:45AM[/editline] Much more fun.
RO is a great game but I think I bought it too late. It didn't feel like anything new.
How the hell do you lower the ramp on the LCVP in DH.
Anyone want ot play darkest hour? if so get in group chat
Anyone want ot play darkest hour? if so get in group chat
I'm up for a game. I go by Yor: The Hunter From the Future on STEAM.
Don't really need it unless you're in charge of a squad or something. Warfare goes more smoothly the less people are talking.
I will never enter a tank without my fucking microphone.
I will never enter a tank without my fucking microphone.
Same.
hahaha, I was in an wolverine and we accidentally rammed into a panther, I shot it with AP like 10 times, than he shot me with HE 5 times, than once AP and killed me. (He didn't notice me till the 7th of my shot) Funny shit, cause my bullets did absolutely nothing
How the hell do you lower the ramp on the LCVP in DH.
Anyone? Pisses me off that I have to just jump around in the goddamned thing. If I was playing MP i'd be dead by then. :|
I only played this game a few times, but I'm reinstalling it now. Hope I can play with some of you.
I just had a rather excellent game playing as a US AT soldier on Stavelot in Darkest Hour. As usual, we got pushed back beyond the bridge, and after a while of heavy fighting, I was left holding a building on the right flank overlooking some yards with three other guys. A Panther showed up, and I hit it with a couple of rockets, both of which bounced off. The driver ended up bailing out of it, for some reason, and we no longer had to worry about it. German infantry showed up not too long after, and I dispatched a rather troublesome MG42 with a few shots from my carbine. My two buddies on the second story with me were both killed, while the guy on the ground floor remained, and we held the house. A second Panther showed up, and, hearing people on the voice channel talking about how the Germans were already pushing on the church and realizing I was behind enemy lines, I decided to leave. My buddy downstairs was killed by a German, who I proceeded to take down, then I made my way across the street to another house. I looked back down the road, only to see a German half track approaching. I took a few carefully aimed shots, and managed to kill the gunner. I made my way through several more houses and across the street, killing two or three enemy troops along the way, before I was cornered in a burnt out house and killed by a couple of dudes who had gotten wise. After I respawned, I found that the Axis team had pushed up to the crossroads just down the street from the square, our main spawn. As I jogged across the road, bullets whizzed by my face, and I happened to notice a Panther sitting right there at the crossroads, surrounded by riflemen and an MG42. I already had a rocket loaded, so I did the most foolish thing I could. I took a knee right in the middle of the road, brought my 'zooka to bear and squeezed off a round. I full expected it to simply glance off the tanks thick, sloped front armor, and then to be gunned down by a hail of gunfire. But no. The rocket somehow found it's mark, right on the drivers hatch, and penetrated. The ensuing explosion took out most of the surrounding troops with it, about five or six of them. I quickly took shelter on the opposite side of the road, ecstatic. We managed to hold off the German attack, and I picked off more troops with my carbine, ending the match with around 32 points. All in all, a damn good fight.

But I was just playing and I somehow killed 4 people in a church tower with an M1 while stuck in a ditch :v: Amazing game, I must say.
Darkest Hour is quite fun, had fun playing with those that were on earlier today.
Joined the group. I'll definantly be on for D-Day, just make sure to post an announcement before.
God I love anti-tank rifles. The satisfaction of seeing a burst of blood as the driver's head gets blown off by a round is unmatched by rockets.
God I love anti-tank rifles. The satisfaction of seeing a burst of blood as the driver's head gets blown off by a round is unmatched by rockets.
Don't ya just love to use the PTRD as a long range sniper rifle instead of a tank killer?
If anyone wants a Guest pass to get in on the June 6th game, I've got 2 spare. PM me with your steamID for them.
