Action Half Life 2.2 is Coming - Games

I've never heard of nor played AHL. Can anyone just clarify for me what's actually so appealing about this mod? The gameplay trailer above looked pretty average, but that could just be because I don't know enough about it to spot anything that's actually of interest. From watching that trailer, all I really saw was Counter Strike with diving and pen throwing... What's the big drawcard that makes this mod so popular?

From what I remember of the original, it basically felt like I was in a B-rated action flick like (For a more modern example) Drive Angry or something along those lines. And, unlike CS, most people just played it for fun, and the people that tried to be obnoxious dullards and take the game SUPAH SRS MLG PRO LEETNESS were typically considered dickheads and were either ignored or kicked. Basically, it's one of the few MP mods/games out there that just sort of goes "Who gives a shit" and just exists for the sole purpose of completely dumb fun. Also, while The Specialists was better, it never got a proper Source port, hence why a lot of people want AHL 2.2. Although I am still a bit skeptical that Action Half Life 2.2 will die fairly quickly just like last time.

As awesome as it looks, I hope they'll improve the character animations. They look awful right now. And I hope they make new ones to replace the shitty stock Valve ones too. Also, I hope it won't turn out like The Specialists, filled with boring roleplay servers and dying. Still, this is one of the mods I was looking for, just simple action packed fun.

I hope to GOD they either nerfed or removed the sawn-off. Idiots would always run and gun with it, and if you're anywhere close to it you're fucking dead.
