Apparently Gubbygub betrayed and killed a bunch of Angmar guys during the Siege of the Obsidian Deathtower (Which was also a thing you missed), so Angmar rolled up on Oasis, while Gubby and Ridingkeys buggered off with their riches, and sacked it.
Well actually I went to help trees with the obsidian tower with every intention of killing him after we beat it and taking the loot, and then some angmar people showed up so they had to die too. I wanted all the loot for oasis and also because I am greedy. Then I got exiled before I even made it back because Angmar demanded my exile or they would attack, but then they attacked anyway, lol.
(but now we have amazing loot, holla holla get dolla.)
Once again an utopian society is ruined by greed. Oh well, time to rebuild.

We attacked anyway because they were still too friendly with you. They told you we were after you and that we were going to attempt to kill you as you ran for it, and that's a pretty good sign they were still on your side.

we were told that the fort must be attacked with bows and arrows and siege engines like catapults. where are those war machines? why weren't they made first before a war even had a chance to break out? what the hell is going on here?

I'll admit though that I was the first to jump on the dirt blocks, for whatever that's worth.
i can see this whole thing destroying the noble "factions" aspect of the server, with people leaving the factions one by one to become unaligned, or the current factions sans Angmar will break down into pieces and the players will scatter across the world forming new ones

Osku said the whole war should be wiped from the records and everything related to it disqualified, nullified and what have you, if the dirt block thing counts as cheating that is. and in my bloody opinion it does count as cheating since you can climb into the enemy fortress without even using those fancy trinkets like TNT cannons
I actually suggested that perhaps I could make a trip to Oasis and sabotage something of theirs or make an embassy, then I got off fer the night. Now that my shift's over and I have nothing to do today (Tomorrow I must gather food fer my flat), I would imagine I'd want to aid in this quest to eliminate the dirty traitor.

Gubbygub, OxiB00ST, Stewe231 and I were all helping Treesways with the killing of some demonic piece of shit that was annihilating his small independent hamlet. There was loot at the end, and when we finally got to it, Gubbygub killed all of us; including Treesways, and ran off to Oasis. He claimed that it would've happened anyway and when questioned on whether or not he was acting on part of Oasis he said "No, this is only me.". There was no leadership online in Oasis at that time so we waited for Flatirons to get on before a either a declaration of war and subsequent fighting or a turnover/banishment of Gub. While this was happening two agents from Angmar, Stewe and I, we're planning to assassinate Gub before he either 1. Got into the city of Oasis, or 2. Left Riahttan to go and establish a hideout, this was being done independent of whatever decision Oasis was making.
Well, Oasis banished Gub, but was still feeding him information on our intended assassination, so the assassination failed and both Stewe and I were killed by Gub. Ridingkeys had at this point been discovered as being completely on the side of Gub, and was aiding him. When the information had turned up to Angmar that Oasis was feeding Gub information that saved his life, war was put into full effect and Angmar geared up to destroy Oasis very quickly.
Funfacts: Gub admitted that even if he WASN'T banished, and Oasis went to war for harboring him, he wouldn't share any of the loot he had gained with Oasis and would keep it for himself. When the war finally happened Gub and Keys were across the map and not helping Oasis whatsoever, Keys specifically pleaded with Angmar that if Oasis was destroyed his temple would be left standing.
Hilariously, Keys' temple was the only thing destroyed. It was a pretty shitty temple too.

The current situation is that there's a shitload of accusations flying around on foul-play on part of the Angmar attackers, well, they're pretty true. Oasis was protected both by a ~5-7 block high wall and a deep trench, when we arrived on the outskirts of Oasis German and I were tasked with setting up a TNT Cannon. We were fully prepared to do so once the battle initiated and we charged, however, someone at the front of the group charging the wall plopped down a wide dirt bridge that crossed the moat and gave us access onto the wall. No-one very strongly disagreed with it, though there was a fair bit of questioning (and disappointment on part of the now-redundant TNT team). This is most likely the primary reason why Angmar seized victory so easily, the Oasians had absolutely no preparation for this; afterall, why would they?
We don't know who put down the dirt bridge and I'm pretty goddamn sure alot of us are feeling [I]a bit[/I] shit for our part in the whole thing.
