• Valve want to make the Half-Life movie themselves
Has pixar ever made an R rated movie?
All the comic violence wouldn't make it PG because Valve doesn't like to say fuck and that's all that matters to parents.
Meet the Sandvich was going to be 4 hours long
But that was if the script contained the entirety of Predator and Road House.
Yeah, if they don't get Gordon's original voice actor the movie will be ruined.
Exactly. Ross Scott is a very busy man, you know.
What are you?
Your worst nightmare.
You know, i agree with the idea of the story focusing on something else than Gordon. Still, he should be shown. The rebels should be able to see him fighting somewhere along their journey. Then all HL2 fans would go crazy and yell: "HEY FUCK LOOK IT'S FREEMAN! YOU'RE NOT LEAVING WITHOUT ME!"
If Valve makes this movie, I will be so happy.
Exactly. Ross Scott is a very busy man, you know.
Ross Scott would be a good choice, he looks a bit like freeman in that interview with a picture of him they showed.
What about a movie featuring Barney?
A movie following Gordon could be pulled off I think. In fact, I would love to see what direction it could be taken, sort of as an experiment. I mean, Gordon DOES have a personality: It's the big, collective personality of the playerbase. Their actions, reactions, emotions, all wrapped up in one figure. It'd be a really interesting thing to try out. And he doesn't have to talk much. (Take a look at, for example, Silent Bob.... :v: )It would need a good actor to play Gordon, who wouldn't "take over" the character, but would make him believable and interesting enough to be the protagonist.
What about a movie featuring Barney?
Barney's Great Adventure.
Video game movies suck, I like playing Half Life games more than I would like watching them.
I just don't see how it could work without Gordon ever talking.
If Valve made it, it would most likely be CG. Personally, I feel that's the best way to pull it off; they could use the original voice actors, and it would all around feel more believable.
What if Valve did the Avatar CG? That would be so badass
How about 1 movie per game? [sp]Or 1 for the episodes[/sp] [editline]06:35PM[/editline]
What if Valve did the Avatar CG? That would be so badass
Using the source engine.
Shepard and Freeman meet, and have an amazing dialog: "..." "..." "..." "..." For 90 min.
To all of you who would rather have a team fortress 2 movie, I don't see how they would make it a movie, because as soon as someone kills someone they are dead. Respawning wouldn't make for a interesting movie.
IF a Half-Life movie were to be made, it would have to be from the perspective of the rebels, Barney, Alyx, or some other supporting character (G-MAN :gonk:)...
I would like a movie from G-Man's perspective, which could cover all significant events that he may or may not have orchestrated.
I'd like to see a Half-Life movie that focused on where Barney was during Episode 2. But that would mean not getting to see G-Man (and/or Gordon) on the big screen. And I want to see G-Man!
I want a triology of Half life with the black mesa incident, the happenings between both games, and HL2
The first think I'd like to see from Valve if they were going to make a movie is Left 4 Dead. It's based so much on movies that it would fit right in.
I want a triology of Half life with the black mesa incident, the happenings between both games, and HL2
A 2 hour long movie showing Gordon in stasis? But it might be interesting to show the 7 hour war. They can't just cram it all in one movie though. Have a Half Life movie that goes through the first game. And after the end with Gordon and G man, show like a Combine or Advisor walk/float down a street on earth in an ominous way. Then they could put the 7 hour war or at least an overview of it in the beginning of a second movie. Then for the rest of the movie have it based on Half life 2 and maybe its episodes. I mean they could make a third movie based on the episodes, but they couldn't call it Half Life 3. The citadel blowing up was an ending scene, and it'd confuse people if they save the day, but it's still not the end of the movie.
I don't think Valve will ever make a full 2 hour movie. Maybe they'll do mini-series to explain events and tell stories within the L4D/HL/TF2 universe.
I'd also love a Left 4 Dead movie. I'd rather have a Half life/L4d movie then a TF2 one because Half Life and Left 4 Dead have a story. TF2 has some backstory on characters and stuff but it's all in web based comics and not in the game itself. Automerge broken.
All those web based comics = canon. Except for the Apple one. That was not canon.
I'd rather see a Team Fortress 2 movie, but that's just me.
Clones wearing different colors stealing a briefcase from each other.
Clones wearing different colors stealing a briefcase from each other.
Or eachother's property, don't forget that.
To all of you who would rather have a team fortress 2 movie, I don't see how they would make it a movie, because as soon as someone kills someone they are dead. Respawning wouldn't make for a interesting movie.
They can easily explain it, and the explanation doesn't even have to make sense. Plus you could easily do the movie without respawning.
If valve made a movie i would love to see it on the new engine. rocktstar did something for Red Dead Redemption just like this. It was a 30 minute show done with the Red Dead Redemption main character, it was a special on FX or something, was on at 1 am(probably earlier also.) Me and 2 of my friends watched it, and they arnt into video games at all, and they fucking loved it because it was so different but so awesome at the same time. So if valve made a movie i would hate to see it live action, if it was on the new engine it would feel like canon and just be amazing. Plus Source film maker+new engine probably looks beautiful.
I want a full-length feature film of TF2. I'm not sure what they could stuff in it to make it a full movie, but I still think it'd be awesome. A Half-Life movie would almost never work under any circumstance, because for it to be a movie there needs to be dialogue, and talking is not among the good Doctor's main skills. If Gordon were to talk in the movie, it would probably ruin his iconic imagery of a silent protagonist.
everyone in this movie was silent. And it's a cult film.
The only reason why I'd want a L4d,TF2 movie instead of a Half-Life movie is because I already know what happens in Half-Life. It would look pretty, but if they went for the freeman story it'd be like playing the game again.
