• Valve want to make the Half-Life movie themselves

We already have Freeman's mind for a Gordon perspective.
If they did a Half-Life movie, it should be back in Black Mesa. None of this "let's skip the most important part of the series" stuff.
(Gordon is around 20 in Half-Life 2)
Actually more like 30 (27 to be exact.) Provided that he hasn't aged while he was in stasis.
I got my copy of PC Gamer yesterday (subscription ftw). It had the two Portal co-op bots on the cover, and had a massive article about the new Portal co-op stuff. :flashfap:
Saxton Hale Think about it, how fucking awesome would he be on screen. "I MAKE DANGEROUS UNSAFE PRODUCTS, FOR MEN!."

I want a half-life movie, that's about events not in-game, like 7 hour war and etc. And a TF2 singleplayer mode.
schwarzenegger wouldnt even fit heavy's role at all
Gabe plays WoW?
He's fat, of course he does
UP had guns, blood, and fire. On paper that sounds terrible.
WTF is UP?
If valve made a movie i would love to see it on the new engine. rocktstar did something for Red Dead Redemption just like this. It was a 30 minute show done with the Red Dead Redemption main character, it was a special on FX or something, was on at 1 am(probably earlier also.) Me and 2 of my friends watched it, and they arnt into video games at all, and they fucking loved it because it was so different but so awesome at the same time. So if valve made a movie i would hate to see it live action, if it was on the new engine it would feel like canon and just be amazing. Plus Source film maker+new engine probably looks beautiful.
You realise that that Red Dead film was in-engine, like how you make videos on PC with GTAIV.
If Valve made it, it would most likely be CG. Personally, I feel that's the best way to pull it off; they could use the original voice actors, and it would all around feel more believable.
Didn't Breen's actor die?
Didn't Breen's actor die?
yes :sigh:
They need to make an epic saga with a trilogy of Half Life, Blue Shift and Opposing force then a quadrilogy(?) of Half Life 2, Episode 1, Episode 2 and Episode 3. And Morgan Freeman needs to play Eli, and Hugh Laurie to play Gordon :3:
WTF is UP?
Up, the Pixar film. Go wikipedia the plot, and you'll see why it seems terrible on paper.
I'd like to see Valve make a TF2 TV show, or webisodes. Solely based on comedy, I'm sure they would be great.
You realise that that Red Dead film was in-engine, like how you make videos on PC with GTAIV.
Isnt that EXACTLY what i said? I said its a fucking smart way to make a video game movie.
A movie made by Valve would be nice to show to my grandkids when it comes out
I think if Valve made a movie about half life it would take place during the 7 hour war or something, at some time when Gordon is in stasis.
I remember in an older interview they did with PC Gamer they mentioned some of the daft plot ideas, like Xen Giant Beetle cavalry and a tear-full reunion of Vortigaunt slaves and their families
I say HELL YEAH, to an animated movie by Valve. Live Action is also okay but that depends on the actors.
Animated movies need actors too
Animated movies need actors too
Live-action actors have more dimension then voice actors.
Pixar would be a good choice too. For an animated movie. For Team Fortress 2 at least.
Uh no. Infact, the designer for the TF2 characters was fired from pixar.
Uh no. Infact, the designer for the TF2 characters was fired from pixar.
Where does that implies that Pixar would not make a good TF2 movie. That went only to show that the guy who later created TF2 characters was fired from Pixar. It doesn't exactly means that they hate each other. [editline]04:48PM[/editline]
Up, the Pixar film. Go wikipedia the plot, and you'll see why it seems terrible on paper.
But amazing in the actual movie.
Just recycle his lines used in the game?
Welcome to city 17 looping for an hour.
To all of you who would rather have a team fortress 2 movie, I don't see how they would make it a movie, because as soon as someone kills someone they are dead. Respawning wouldn't make for a interesting movie.
I must disagree here. A movie with respawns would be like The Expendables, but with more awesome. It'd be something they could explore and explain in depth, all the while keeping action and Pixar style wit and stuff. I'd expect the TF2 movie to have lots of Pixar styled wit. King of Pg4, woot.
It could be very possible that they do a TF2 movie, I mean who says it has to involve the current Red & Blu teams? What I'd think they do is have it set in the same universe, Perhaps the beginnings of the conflict with the "original" team, or even have the Team fortress classic team. Hell they could even do a movie following a newer Red & Blu team after the current one (say in the 1970's)
If they did, it couldn't be about Gordon. That'd ruin the whole mystery behind him.
Up, the Pixar film. (Yes it does seem terrible on paper)
