Good thing they're going with CG, most live action video game movies are shit.
If it was live action, I'd go for Morgan Freeman as Eli Vance.
Imagine his final lines in EP2.
I'd rather see a Team Fortress 2 movie, but that's just me.
Get the fuck out.
You can't make a movie of a game with no fucking storyline.
Can we clarify that there's no Half Life film in the making, but if it was to be made it'd be by Valve. God i love those guys...
If VALVe acually makes a Half Life movie...god. The sheer thought makes me excited.
I want a Ricochet movie.
(Gordon is around 20 in Half-Life 2)
Oh really?

So Gordon grew 7 years younger over the course of 20 years?

Okay, seriously. Have you read ANY official TF2 web comics?

Sure you can. It's called making one.
Hell yeah, If this comes out, i would definitely watch it
Those guys who made the "Escape from c17" short film, which never got a 2nd part, told that they were working on a huge secret project after they released a new cut of the first part.
A Half-Life movie wouldn't make much sense unless you made Gordon talk. And we all don't want that! Unless, of course, it's not actually from Gordon's perspective. Maybe from rebels, or Alyx, or Barney, or something.

Too bad TF2 does have a storyline.
From rebel's perspecive would probably be the most effective.
If Valve made it, it would most likely be CG. Personally, I feel that's the best way to pull it off; they could use the original voice actors, and it would all around feel more believable.
Dr. Breen's voice actor died so they would need to use the sound clips from the game.
The actors should be the facemaps the characters were modelled after :v: Just gotta hope the hobo can act too.
i love valve
Did you see Toy Story 3?
I cried, my mom cried, my brother cried, my cousin cried.

Everyone cried.
I have, and I did
Make the movie set in Black Mesa, based on a HECU soldier (not Adrian Shepard). That way you could have an awesome action film giving more awesome plot to the HL storyline and you wouldn't have the issue of spoiling the silent protagonist angle of Gordon.

Sadly there would be no Dr. Breen.
Fuck this, I want to hear Gordon talking.
If Gordon talks in the movie, Half-Life would have been ruined.
I do agree, that a TF2 movie could also be cool, but I would still prefer Half-Life. I actually hope that the main would be someone other than Gordon, as we already know what he is doing throughout the game(s).

It'd be boring just watching Gordon do the stuff we already made him do.
At least with a different character, we could get a new perspective and knowing Valve, they'd add in heaps of references or semi-crossover scenes to give all the fans nostalgic moments.
I think the best way of HL1's movie adaptation would be the story of HL1 and Blue Shift (and Opposing force, if it's canon...) going parallel to eachother.

:frown:
What about Life after breen's death in another city, A combine cover up, conspiracy, and eventually total chaos.
If gordon is The central charachter in the film, he will have to talk.
the only reason he does not talk in-game is so the player feels like they actually are gordon.

Actually when Eli's voice actor no longer was in the Half-life series I saw a youtube video of him on a show on FOX, here's the video.
He looks enough like Eli.

Hell I think I even saw Eli's actor in a Gieco commercial.
He made it to the show business.
Valve - Helpin dem hobos.
If the movie were to be made hopefully it starts with Half-Life 1 ad viewed from the perspectives of an HECU squad, two guards trying to survive, and maybe a team of scientists waiting to be rescued but are chased throughout the entire complex. If Gordon is going to be in the movie then I'd rather the characters mention Freeman and the shit he does throughout the game.
