If I sell my 360 how much additional money will I need for a PS3?

Depends on model, hard drive, and games. I sold mine and had about $150 store credit which dropped the price of the PS3 to $150 which is fucking reasonable.
It ended up being ~200 though because I bought an extra controller and LBP.
That was a while ago but prices are pretty standard.
Whelp, time to get a PS3.
LOL at the people that paid the internet connection AND microsoft in order to play games online.
I thought paying for LIVE was ridiculous in the first place.
Now... I have even less of a reason to get it. :v:
Good thing I just bought a year subscription, I just wish I had the money to buy a PS3.
Getting 3 12 month cards before this happens
:smug:
Now I'm glad I bought a PS3 in the first place!
Xbox still has that one feature that will keep me playing it: The Party System.
Meh, 10 more bucks for a year, I can live with it, get the card for my xmas/birthday anyway, so I'm not paying for it, yet.
Also what the fuck, as if they dont have enough money already, i wont be surprised if i see people selling their xboxs now.
Reading about this price change has finally convinced me to put mine out on the market, I've barely played it anyways since upgrading my PC.
What do you guys think a 360 Pro would go for these days in CAD?
You know for what your paying, you should be allowed write profanity and ASCII cocks on your profile without being harassed. face it we are being pretty much extorted, the service ain't even half as good as it should be.
This is why i sold my xbox and upgrade my pc :colbert:
Yeah I really want to get a PS3 now but it's like it's too late in the gen for that. I've got 16 games and the console with accessories, I bet I could sell it for enough to get a PS3 and a couple games, but it just sucks because there's no backwards compatibility. I have PS1 and PS2 games and it would suck to have a PS3 that couldn't play them.
I was going to cancel my account anyway, but it's nice to know that I'm saving more money.

The only price change Canada is getting is the 1 month.

Its been said and said again, the only price change other countries are getting is the 1 month subs. only America is getting charged more for the rest.
Forgetting one thing:
Until those prices go into effect, a yearly subscription will be at a discount. So renew/receive your LIVE membership before November for what I think is $10 off.
That doesn't really fix the crap that they're throwing at us, but it's better than nothing.
Title sucks, XBLA isn't XBox Live. And they have just removed a huge feature to cut costs: turning on the original XBL for the first system, so they really can't justify this unless they returned it.
Only $5 to add in my monthly subscription.
I honestly don't care.
Yes I know that's greedy of Microsoft but whatever.
If it weren't for Halo and having so many friends who play xbox, I'd have switched to PS3 by now.
Doesn't matter if it's too late in the gen. Even if Sony releases a new console, at least you can get the cheaper PS3 that already has plenty of games on it.
microsoft.... seriously.... :frog:
why cant they do what ps3 is doing offering it as side package not charging everybody for it. i honestly dont give a shit about all that shit i just want to play some shit online.

Because Microsoft know that regardless of increasing the price people are still going to buy it.
Kind of like CoD on PC. $60 pricetag, everyone complained, yet it still sold like hotcakes.

Yeah but that doesn't address the issue of poor BC, and I really need it, before this gen I was a huge Playstation fan and I have a bunch of PS1 and PS2 games.
Oh no, They raised it by 5 more bucks. That is soooo much money.
It is when it's already bullshit price that you shouldn't be paying for at all.
Those free demos and videos aren't free if you have to pay $1.25 a week for them. :colbert:
You used to pay for just online play with the Xbox original, and they added demos and videos to that when the 360 was released, so technically yes they are. At least up until this price raise, which in my eyes wasn't necessary but not completely unnecessary either. Xbox LIVE has grown quite a bit in the years past, so its only expected for them to raise the price by a reasonable amount.
Also, this: (2002 is the birth of Xbox LIVE and the fee of $50 a year)
