XBL prices will be raised. - Games

Screw it. I can't be asked to buy another yearly membership and this price raise just makes it more certain.

I was already going to get a PS3 in a month or so (finally got myself a job), mainly for the exclusives, this makes me feel reassured that I'm making the right choice. If I already had a 360 though, I wouldn't switch to PS3 just because of this, but I would be pissed off.

What people don't get is that Xbox live has MILLIONS of subscribers, they already make enough money as it is.

It's not that I can't afford it. It just pisses me off that Microsoft wants to raise the price for a service that we can get for free on the PC and PS3 that's pretty much the same, more or less so. They have better make the price increase worth it. More free content that's not chicken shit (like Facebook) and bigger discounts. Or maybe a plan to have every multiplayer game run on top notch, dedicated servers. Wait, that's not really free content. That's just them adding more content since we're paying more. In that case, shouldn't they just have different types of subscription that offer different kinds of content? Like silver, gold giving you multiplayer, and platinum giving you a whole bunch of extra goodies?

I was considering getting a new Xbox, but that'll never happen after reading this. If I get another console it's going to be a PS3.

Just realized the name of this thread is wrong. XBL not XBLA. Anyway, I'm glad it doesn't affect me, if it did, I would've left too.

If you think about it, the price still isn't that bad if it was increased. $60 is what? ONE newly released game. One game a year. This "Game" will give you access to a pretty damn good online service for a console. While I don't play Xbox, this isn't the end of the world for those who enjoy the service... Though for people thinking about the service, it's not the most comforting.

Anyone hear about how Bill Gates almost went bankrupt donating billions of dollars to different charities? It's understandable if he needs to raise the prices to be the top dog again.

Thats a damn shame too, because i actually like Monday Night Combat, and looking foward to Captain Smiley, Battleblock Theatre, and etc. And plus almost all my friends are on the xbox. If anything, ill just use amazon to get cheaper xbox live subscriptions, which are about 40 dollars or so.
