He isn't dumb, I'm in his server and I haven't donated a thing, as many others.
You need to be worthy of joining his server, not pay for it. It is actually one of the best servers out here and it's like what it is to prevent random griefers from ruining it.

What you and everyone has heard is a small arguement about Nerdy server and lots of people [I]talking about[/I] the map being reset a few times, but for every person that says it doesn't mean it has happened that many times.
The map was fine for a long time, some retards griefed it so he reset and then the same happened.. so he reset again and only let in trusted members (which is brings us to now).
CTO_7's SMP is up at 24.130.159.106:25565 We've been using the same map from the beginning and have no plans to change.

Lets see first my upload at home is shit so I can't host at home. Second I don't change the map everyday. We had 1 map up for 6 days. That got greifed. Second one for another 6 days. That got greifed. Now things are much better. So that does not seem like every day to me. But hey you haven't been in the server. So once again get your facts straight before posting.

If its about surviving and not building nice settlements, why do you need to apply to join and provide samples, its not creative after all...

AFAIK it serves a dual purpose.
1. It demonstrates that the person applying has building experience and some level of creative finesse.
Yes, it is not creative MP. You can still build creatively, but above all it is SURVIVAL multiplayer. If it's not practical in some way there's a chance we'll take it down.
2. What are we surviving against? For the time being the only mobs are chickens and pigs (and so I hear slimes, but I've yet to actually see one in SMP.) Hence most buildings right now have more creative uses above practical use.

Maybe not but usually greifers won't try very hard on an app that ask for 1-2 paragraphs on why you want to be here and what you will contribute with 1-3 pictures of your own work.
Is there any way to make enemy mobs spawn for certain, rather than getting a stone floor with no light? I made a big dome in my fortress where I can make prisoners fight with Spiders and Creepers, while me and some pigs (from the Mob Spawner) watch them for entertainment.
Of course it's worthless without said Spiders and Creepers.
