Hangover's server is the best.
You don't even need to make a 2 paragraph application, just PM your name and instant whitelist in most cases. Funny how Nerdy's had griefers with a giant application and Hangover's with almost nothing has next to no griefers.

Yeah, people didn't like the way Nerdy ran his server so it was targeted with griefing as a 'fuck the system' kind of retaliation I guess :frown:
Speaking of which, is Nerdy's shut down or just donors only? I had a lot of fun on there but single player just isn't the same so is there any other servers that will accept me?
Do powered minecarts run out of steam(?) faster depending on how much they're pushing? I'm trying to ride my cart train up and out of my mine, and the powered minecarts give out just before the top of the first hill.
I've got two powered minecarts in back, an empty cart I ride in, and a storage cart on the track in that order. It's just powerful enough to get the whole train going uphill, however it appears that it takes so long that the fuel is completely depleted after the first hill.
It wouldn't be a big problem, but since Notch decided to make it so the powered carts go in the direction you're facing when you right click them and can't pull, you have to be outside of the cart train to get it going in the right direction again.

The city in hangovers server is really getting big!
Those of you who wanted to join the city that was set to be built after those plans before, post in the survival city thread, we need to push some life into it.
These powered carts are completely undependable, they randomly shut off or completely reverse direction...
I've played alot of the free multiplayer (You know, just building stuff) and i finally bought the game. Is there any guide/tutorial for the basics in survival such as crafting schemes, what material to hunt etc, good places to build a hideout/fort whatever (like, near caves, up in mountains etc)?

However, I think just playing the game and finding out yourself through trial and error is the best way to work out those other things.
There's nothing quite like the first time a creeper blows apart your little shack because you put the windows at eye level :v:
One tip though, make it your highest priority to find coal before the first night, or it's going to be a long, difficult night.

As far out of the minecraft theme they are, I think you could actually make them balanced. They should take like 3 diamonds to craft or something, and their maximum range is only something like 50 blocks, meaning you'd have to craft a 'node' every 50 blocks which each cost a diamond each in order to extend the range.
You wake up stranded on an island and the first thing that comes to your mind is "I wish I had some teleporters!"

Sweet jesus, my worthless little wooden hovel seems to be near a rift in the Warp or some shit, because every time I get out in the morning, I have to clear out the five Creepers, sneak past the Spiders, and collect at least ten feathers and arrows before I can do anything. :saddowns:
