Yeah in my mine I found a vein of 5 diamonds, but before hand I found one then my game crashed so I proceeded to find it again giving me 2 for 1.
Also the sticks were pick axe materials.

For whoever asked about growing grass, you have to have grass blocks touching the dirt blocks or near it to make it grow. So if you have a floating island and need grass on top make a spiral dirt staircase from the ground up to the island. Then put torches all over it to make sure its lit 100% of the time. Then you can either just leave the game running in the background while you're gone or just continue playing in the same chunk and your grass will grow.
