Burrow into a hill, and remember that you need a wood pickaxe to get cobblestone, and then stone for iron and coal.
Here's a small chart.
Wood pickaxe- Cobblestone
Stone pickaxe- Cobblestone, iron, coal
Iron pickaxe- Cobblestone, iron, coal, gold, diamond
Diamond pickaxe- Cobblestone, iron, coal, gold, diamond, obsidian
I'm in a bit of a jam now. I went a built an underwater entrance to get into my cave, and it worked perfectly. so then I went to go back up to seal up the door I forgot to, and as I could see the door, a spider jumped in. so now I'm hiding in my little tunnel and I can hear the spider fucking around upstairs. How many hits with a stone sword will it take to kill it?
Anyone know the id for water blocks?

Pythagoras and I were on a deep mine exploration trip of one of our abandoned shafts and Pythagoras heard a clicking sound at the end of the tunnel, well Pythagoras started hacking away and we exposed a small open area with an active lava flow in the distance, immediately we were bombarded by three green cubes, one large one, one medium and a small little one, they were attacking us feriousiously and we ended up digging trenches that they couldn't get out of then diverted the lava flow to the trenches and they burned and died. We were spooked...we were playing survival multiplayer and I thought there was no enemy AI in survival?! Not only that, I thought your not supposed to be able to kill them like we did?
I need a new texture pack that has the new fenceposts in it. anyone have one?
Can someone give a link to that program that saves your inventory when you logout?

slimes are the only enemy at the moment
I have yet to come across slimes. How rare are they?

Fences just take from whatever your wood texture is.

They are supposed to be 'regional' meaning you won't find them in every deep cave.
They're about as frequent as Dungeons, you just have to be in the right area.. there may not be any for miles of infinite land or they may be right under your feet at any moment.

Spiders need a 1x2 entrance, so if your entrance is in the shape of a door the spider can't get you, but you can hit him.
