That's only on customs.
Elites in Reach are far more powerful and generally bigger than Spartans in Reach though, it wouldn't make too much sense to put them on the same team.
Aren't there gameplay videos of Elites and Spartans on the same team? I remember at least one where several elites killed each other.

Nope. There's "Covy Slayer", which is all Elites slayer, then Spartans vs. Elites, but no Elites on a Spartan team, unless it's a custom game.

Why would they? I've tried it, and it's just like Halo 3's. But I haven't seen it used with campaign, so I hope that they let you actually rewind the film this time.

Due to the engine that's quite nearly impossible. But who knows, they built this engine from the ground up so we can only hope.

I hated fast-forwarding past the moment I was looking for, having to restart the ENTIRE film just to get back there. That's another new feature I want: Being able to skip to certain parts of the film. It's especially crucial with hour long videos. One more feature for campaign: Being able to record awesome moments of the huge video you have. You wouldn't be able to let other people see it without sitting through the whole thing.
