Hehe I remember when Halo 3 was leaked. I guess history tends to repeat itself somehow. I wouldn't be surprised if Bungie did it on purpose.
I actually got Halo 3 about four days earlier than anybody else, retailers near me were breaking the street date left and right. I wound up getting Modern Warfare 2 a week early as well. Here's to hoping my local GS does it again.
It's Noble Team.
I just saw that, last night it looked much different.
Why is everyone assuming that everyone dies at the end of reach? [sp]In the books it's never confirmed that reach was totally glassed, the area around Menachite Mountain wasn't glassed due to the forerunner structure. Masterchief comes back after Halo and rescues the spartans, Hallsey and Whitcomb and gets them onto Ascendant Justace. We are never told if the Covenant Continued glassing the planet or if they continued exploring the ruins. For all we know Noble Team could have been in that area. [/sp]
I remember playing Halo 3 like a month before release in French.
Any general non spoiler impressions/reviews of the SP campaign? I'm waiting to pre-order because I'm not sure if I want Legendary edition or not. If this game is truly as epic as the hype seems to be (and I've been burned by hype before), then I'll want the Legendary edition. But if it sucks like Halo 2 did, then I'll feel stupid for wasting money. And when I say Halo 2 sucked, I mean the sp campaign (still better than most games). It wasn't terrible, but I played Halo: CE (bought an xbox for the game the day it came out) to death, co-op and lan parties many times, and Halo 2 just did NOT live up. Halo 3 was awesome, though. Anyway, anyone see/heard reviews?
Meh, someone spoiled some minor info about Noble Six to me, and my friend is apparently downloading Reach for his softmodded 360 right now. Dodging major spoilers is gonna be a pain.

ODST being the exception because all the 12 year olds who are SUPERMLGSRS weren't excited for anything that doesn't have a BR.

It's no Halo CE or 3, but it's certainly around there in the Halo franchise.
I thought they made it quite clear that Master Chief was the last and only remaining Spartan?
No, there are many Spartans still trapped on Onyx, and Dr. Halsey is trapped there, too.
I thought they made it quite clear that Master Chief was the last and only remaining Spartan?
[sp] Pillar of Autumn had two Spartans aboard, John-117 and Linda-058. Linda was critically wounded on Station Gamma and put into cryo sleep once aboard PoA. Johnson and Jenkins were both on the station too, and were rescued onto the PoA. She was ejected with most other crew still in cryo when Keyes decided to land PoA on Halo. Meanwhile there were quite a few spartans on the ground of reach, with a handful surviving the initial glassing. Prior to and during the events of Halo 2 there was a Spartan team on earth, who left aboard a covenant frigate soon after MC jumped to Delta halo aboard In Amber Clad. [/sp]
Softmodded as in Jtagged right? That's the only way you can play it.
I don't know shit about 360 piracy, don't ask me. [editline]09:33PM[/editline]
No, there are many Spartans still trapped on Onyx, and Dr. Halsey is trapped there, too.
Last spartan that's of any difference to the fight.
Last spartan that's of any difference to the fight.
Unless there's something in Onyx that can help. I mean, not anymore, seeing as the Human-Covenant War/The Great War is now over.
No, there are many Spartans still trapped on Onyx, and Dr. Halsey is trapped there, too.
Yeah, there's actually a handfulload of Spartans and their VIPs left alive. Off the top of my head, we got: Dr. Halsey CPO Mendez (Badass who trained all Spartans) Linda-058 Fred-101 or something The Gamma Squad Spartan-IIIs (Ash, Mark, Olivia) John-117 I might be missing a couple, but that's basically it. John's floating around in space while everyone else is safe in the Shield World, albeit with no way out. [editline]02:38PM[/editline] Also, there's going to be a sequel to Ghosts of Onyx, and it's the first book to take place after Halo 3, so I guess we'll find out what's going on with the remaining Spartans and whatnot.

I forgot about the Onyx spartans. [sp]Didn't Mendez get killed at the end of Onyx after opening the teleporter, and he couldn't make it through so he set off the nuke?[/sp]

There's a lot of questions that need answers. The Human-Elite alliance, taking on Covenant holdouts, the status of the other Covenant species, dealing with the remaining Halo rings...
I'd be content with a novelization of Halo 2 and 3.
I'd be content with a novelization of Halo 2 and 3.
That'd be nice too, but after The Flood...I'm kinda wary. It wasn't that bad, but it wasn't that good either. The books need to do well to the games.
Well, uh, maybe get Nylund to do it? Or some other good author. I liked the extra Alpha Base stuff and the side stories in The Flood, although it was mostly "chief goes in, kills, goes out". Which is what the game consists of as well. Maybe focus more on marines and stuff.
I still need to read the ghosts of onyx book I have sitting next to me.
Heroic, All elites, Whatever map suits it, Spartans: snipers only, Elites: some shit weapon = Easy/high cR (Well, I don't know for sure but it is confirmed that killing Elites (or higher) gives you much more cR for anything below it (Grunts, Jackals etc) so sitting back on whatever map and sniping waves of Elites should provide you with some decent cR at the end of Firefight. I don't want to fully rely on Matchmaking for my Armors, so I'm going to try maximize the overall experience by using Firefight and Forge (and Campaign from time to time) to chip away at getting some Credits.
The videos of the leaks have been taken down, but has anyone seen videos that show the multiplayer maps? I've heard that the 9 we know about (not including the remakes made in forge) are it, but I highly doubt that considering this is Bungie's last game.
You can get credits from the other game modes? I thought you could only gain them in matchmaking.
You can get credits from the other game modes? I thought you could only gain them in matchmaking.
Even Forge gives you Credits and it seems to be a hearty amount, I've seen someone get 1000+ cR from Forge, but they actually spent time making a map. Bungie, somehow, have found a way to tell if you're 'actively forging' and not just rubber-banding your controller or randomly spawning shit.
I'm pretty sure you get credits in all modes.
You can get credits from the other game modes? I thought you could only gain them in matchmaking.
You get credits from EVERYTHING. Forge, campaign, multiplayer, firefight, theater (maybe?)

Although I could be wrong, But it could be possible.
