I think you can pick what gun you spawn with
Really? Sweet but I'll pick the Assault Rifle due to my love of rushing the enemy.
Most classes in normal gametypes start with the AR and a pistol.
You have to pick a layout that will probably have the Assault Rifle, the pistol and two frag grenades, any other weapons have to be picked up.
So I've been working on a map idea and I'm wondering who else though this might work off of paper.
I'll just use the name Shallow Tension. The map is tight and close quarters. You're in leg high water and parts of the floor have holes in it so if you aren't careful you would just fall straight through and drown.
The point is to make people have to concentrate on two different things, footing and where the enemy is while you are moving around.
Anyone else think this might have potential?
@Trooper I think that could be interesting. You'll probably have to use an fx if you dont want people to see the holes though, which in most cases would make it look gross. (I didn't like any of the halo 3 fx)
When I play SWAT, I normally pick up dual magnums and fuck shit up. It's awesome.
First thing I'm doing when I go onto forge is make an underwater map (or at least as close as you can get to underwater).
THIS GAME NEEDS TO HURRY THE FUCK UP AND COME OUT
egad, I'm just trying to distract myself from Reach by beating Lost Planet 2 on expert.

There's a 'realistic' FX that dulls everything to look like GoW. He could use that.
I just had the funniest conversation with my friend. I wish I could've recorded it.

+1 informative.
I have a major spoiler though, you play as [sp]NOBLE 6!!!![/sp]
I bet none of you knew that.
Also for those of you afraid to read it, it's a joke spoiler.
Hey guys i just took a shit.
Im starting to think Kat is Portuguese.
She says Nada which means Nothing in Portuguese.
The conversation did involve Halo, so it's not completely unrelated.
I don't like the fact that Bungie tried to turn Emile into Cole from Gears. Having a recognizable character from another series ruins the canon. I know he's not really Cole but every time I hear him talk I'll just think Cole.
(at least when I play co-op I can make plenty of black jokes)
Q. Can we specify hill shapes besides cylinders and boxes, like maybe ellipses or triangles?
A. The options are Cylinder, Box, and None. You can control the radius and both the upper and lower limits of the hill, but triangles, parallelograms, and various other complex geometrical shapes are unfortunately completely impossible to create. Which means, sadly, that none of us will ever be able to experience King of the Dodecahedron.
I might use the Next Gen effect or something to make it dark. The map will have a ceiling so people can't just jetpack over the spots. I think I'll work on a Night Time like map as well.
I've always hated the Assault Rifle, anyone else?
Are the overlays just for pictures or is that what players see in gameplay?

Emile is voiced by Cole?
I did not know that. Now I'll never forget it.
You have ruined Emile for me.

He's not voiced by Cole although I wouldn't doubt it, but if you'd listen to his voice for less than a second you'd think it was Cole.

Nevermind. After listening to it again he doesn't sound as black, I guess my memory was skewed. But he still seems to have that whole "I'm a tough guy and no one messes with me." cocky attitude that reminds me of Cole.

Most of us love the assault rifle, I'm afraid that you're on your own there.
i prefer close range weapons like shotguns
anyone want to play halo 3/odst with me today
i'd prefer close range weapons like shotguns if close range was defined as more than 2 millimeters
I don't really like Kat's voice. It doesn't really sound very feminine.

And there are so many feminine girls in the military? (excluding some air force)
Omfg, those tapes pissed me off so much. If you do it in co-op, one time I got 29, couldn't find the last, dicked around, and then the connection lagged out. Every fuckin time it resets all of them and you have to find em all over again.
Also it's not fun exploring the city at all because it seems like there were just 5 different areas all copy pasted everywhere. I always think "oh, this was from the 1st mission, or oh, this is from the third mission, but wait, THIS AREA HAS BEEN COPY PASTED 4 OR 5 TIMES!!!
Alright, let's see you build, texture, and port an entire city. It's not so easy to make the whole thing unique, is it. They built a quarter of the city and mirrored it so they had a half, then put the halves together.
However, I agree with you on the level that they could have built two individual quarters, which would have shaken up the street layout a bit.

The most you can probably do is knee deep.

I'm pretty sure Spartans are actually younger than they look. I think some of the Spartan III's are like 13 to 16 years old, hence some of that immaturity.
Also, right now Halo 2, I'm the Arbiter, in a Human tank, attacking flood controlled Ghosts with a Spectre following me. Ha

No, the Spartans are in their 20-30s
Alpha Company was about 12 (yes, younger than most of us) when they assaulted the Covenant refinery.

It's kinda sad, really, because they were physiologically around 20, even though they were really only 12.
