Yeah, and if the Elites have a plasma launcher or someone who's very good with a fuel rod, those Falcons are useless. Especially if the Falcon pilots suck, which is a major problem in Halo. I rarely see good Hog drivers.

Thats because their AI made them useless and shit.
However in Reach now that they have names and markers on their heads I hope people will actually give a shit about them.

I make it my duty to protect the Marines, and shed a manly man-tear when they die. If we didn't play as a Spartan, we wouldn't be able to protect them.
Speaking of protecting Marines, I played the level 343 Guilty Spark yesterday, and only two survived in the end. :frown:

Yeah, it was quite pain in the ass to keep them alive in Halo 2. Their pathfinding and getting randomly stuck on everywhere didn't help much either, at one point in the Covenant city level, I turned around only to notice that all of my fellow marines had disappeared, stuck on various parts of the level far away as I went on.

Really? That's frigging awesome. And by the looks of the trailer their A.I has finally gone massive overhaul, love the cover-switching and cover-taking scripting of them.
In Halo 1, I was quite impressed by the A.I, at one part when I was reloading, the squad of marines took down alone a fully-healthy-and-shielded elite on their own. They went from cover to cover and surrounded the elite, which was behind a pillar, taking potshots. Then they flushed it on the open with a grenade and made it a swiss-cheese.
Back then it was the best A.I action I've ever seen
