better graphics plus there's only like 10 months between reach and halo 3
That and that Reach was the main powerhouse of the UNSC, so surely they would have some pretty advanced prototypes that weren't able to escape the planet's destruction but were utilized in its defense.

I still miss Halo 2 on XBL Doing glitches and shit with friends in customs... so much fun, I made a lot of friends in those days

I used that to get out of Sactuary before I knew how to do the superbounce My friends and I rarely played matchmaking, we just sat in custom games doing glitches lol RIP Headlong

Also I loved crashing Warthogs into each other.
This thread is quite nice. I'll get Halo ODST this week. I've never been much into the series I only played the first one. I thought it was pretty good. Well afterwards I've got a 360, ODST comes with the multiplayer of Halo 3. All in all a great deal for a lower price. Can't wait to get some firefights.
Anyone want to play co-op or firefight later? [editline]09:41AM[/editline] Or play matchmaking?
I'll play with you when I get the game.
I put in ODST yesterday hoping that the Reach beta was still going. I was quite disappointed. But then I played matchmaking and I was happy again. I think none of my friends like Halo, 'cause whenever I look at my friends list at least half are playing MW2.
Forge + friends = fun time I remember when me and my friends made a Mongoose racing track in sandbox with a bunch of obstacles. Then we added more challenge by one person and three turrets on a tower on top of the starting point. I want to play Halo 3 again. [editline]05:16PM[/editline]
I read the books. Halo 3 was meh Halo 2 was shit Halo 1 was awesome.
You're no fun are you? The games are a hell of fun, you should try them instead of reading the books.
Is the beta for Reach still active or what?
Is the beta for Reach still active or what?
It's over.
I've only played the main games in the series and I enjoyed them all. Then again I'm not a die hard fan and my biggest gripe with Halo 3 is that it's kinda short and seemingly comes to an abrupt end. I loved playing Halo 2 for hours on end looking for glitches and other anomalies, especially in the space station level (was able to get outside and walk all over the station). I'd buy a trilogy pack if there is one...
I still remember the days when I went with my brother to his friend's house and they were playing Halo 1 online using some tunneling program.
I read the books. Halo 3 was meh Halo 2 was shit Halo 1 was awesome.
I read the books too, but you have to separate the books from the game if you actually want to enjoy the game play. Like how in the first game they say your the last Spartan when there are 2(including you) on the Pillar of Autumn, 4 others on Earth and another with ONI. Overall I'd say that Halo 3 had the most and best features to offer the series so far.
Reach has to be able to undo the damage done to the series by the last 2 chapters of Halo 3
After reading First Strike, I want there to be a bonus level where you board the Unyielding Hierophant.
I'm gonna have to rent (or buy if they're cheap) Halo 1 & 2 and play the trilogy in order. Isn't the timeline for the Halo series go like this: Halo Reach, Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo 3: ODST, and Halo 3? I'm not really sure where Halo Wars goes, though.
Just recently got ODST through a free Microsoft giveaway, I forgot how fun Halo 3 is for multiplayer.

[editline]10:32PM[/editline] Depends on how far back Reach goes.
After reading First Strike, I want there to be a bonus level where you board the Unyielding Hierophant.
The uneven elephant was kinda terrible as a plot point. Halo itself already pushed the limits of what was reasonable to endure, even for a super soldier. First Strike was plain ridiculous. And I felt like you, it's almost as if the book was stealing gameplay away from me. Halo 2 established that the Covenant were surprised by the human presence on Earth, but the uneven elephant shits that notion in the face. Halo Wars is long, long before Reach. Reach is only a few months before CE. If not less. As we are to believe the Pillar of Autumn just escaped Reach with a random jump according to the cole protocol at the beginning of Combat Evolved.
On the level 'Halo' on Halo 3, I love getting the Spartan Laser with unlimited ammo from Sgt. Johnson. It makes the level so much easier. That's how I beat it on legendary. :smug:
Halo kinda went downhill after 2 when it focused more on the MLG "pr0" crowd then being fun. 3 was far too focused on supporting the "pros" then being fun like halo 2 was and ODST was only good for firefight which was kickass at gaming nights with my friends, reach might be awesome if it focuses more on being fun then "pro"
This pretty much sums it up, And I feel reach won't even have a campaign at this rate.
I really hope Reach has a good campaign. I thought ODST had a cool campaign because it was different, something new. Reach sounds like it'll have a newish campaign, because instead of fighting alongside Marines, you're (hopefully) fighting alongside other Spartans.

Not sure if it says this in the game, but Truth kept a lot from the other two prophets. He was probably the one assembling the fleet at the UH. I know it your opinion, but most people agree that Nylund is one of the best, if not the best, Halo writers. And the others are pretty damn good considering the books are based on videogames.
Reach has to be able to undo the damage done to the series by the last 2 chapters of Halo 3
That's impossible since Reach is a prequel, that means whatever happened at reach is what caused everything in the rest of the series. You guys have to start making sense.
Halo is shit for the most part except for combat evolved.
here we go again
Halo 2 was the best.
I had a friend who would force everyone to play all snipers infite ammo, speed, and invisibility "It's warmup" "what the fuck just play the game to warmup dumbshit"
