Uh no. When the Spartan II program was initiated there was no Covenant to fight. Their main purpose was to be fielded against Insurrectionists. Wrong on that count, pal.
If you'd have read my post, you would have saw I said Spartan III, not II.
Kurt(an SII) trained the SIII companies, it'd make sense that Noble, being a Tier 1 unit, has an SII.
Yeah, he trained them, but that doesn't mean he joined one of their squads. In fact, I'm pretty sure Onyx was the only other example of Spartan IIs working with IIIs.

Ive read 4 of the books, so I wouldn't know everything, but I'm pretty sure it was only on onyx in which they ever worked together. And they did say that the S2 (Kurt) used the S3 armor while he trained them, and when they got attacked, he found his old S2 armor, but decided not to use it.
big fanboy post ahoy, most of the quotes have probably been answered already though
Like how you can jack a Wraith and plant a grenade inside? That'd be so badass if you could get on it's back and shove a grenade down it's throat. Or break it's neck. :v:
They don't have a spine, ripping the head won't do any good.
Is this the best looking 360 game? This is a serious question.
It's a matter of opinion. I like it that Halo has much more color than other mainstream FPS.
Spartan IIs are genetically modified, abducted when they were children and replaced by flash-clones. They're trained all their lives to be super soldiers. Master Chief for example.
Spartan IIIs are ordinary soldiers (but, you know, talented), who were recruited to be pumped full of shit to make them harder, better, faster, stronger. Like (most of) Noble Team.
Nope. S3's are orphan kids, most of them like 14 when they get into their first battle. They're still as tall as an adult man at that age.
S1's from the ORION project were the adult marines pumped full of shit. Johnson is an example of this.
Interesting enough everyone in Halo Reach MP being a SPARTAN-III could explain why we have better technology (Armor abilities etc.) than Halo 3's SPARTAN-IIs.
SPARTAN-IIs had the better armor and tech, SIIIs were expendable. The reason for the cool gear is 1. It's Reach, the biggest UNSC base outside Earth
2. We're dealing with Army here, not Marines. They have different gear.
Uh no. When the Spartan II program was initiated there was no Covenant to fight. Their main purpose was to be fielded against Insurrectionists. Wrong on that count, pal.
No no no no no, no no, no. By the time SIII production started Covenant was already around.

If he had used his old armor (much better but it didn't have the camouflage systems) it would have been a symbolic barrier with the SIIIs and Kurt, being different generations of Spartans. He didn't want that hampering their progress.
Damn you, I preordered Legendary and the more I see about Halo the more I want it, thus making it seem longer >:(
There IS a Spartan II in Noble Team though, which doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. To my knowledge the vast majority of Spartan IIIs never worked with Spartan IIs, let alone be in regular operations with them.
Jorge having 30 years of combat experience is probably there as an advisor and general arse kicker.
Also about the discussion on hunters they dont look bigger because youre smaller, youre only smaller by a few inches they are definatly bigger by a few feet.
And the reason these Spartan IIIs have Spartan II tech is because theyve been deemed valueable after surviving multiple suicidal missions.

Hunters do have spines.
Just not real ones they have a metal spine when you melee their back enough but ripping of the head wont do much yeah.
I came here to say "This is a joke right?" But I can honestly say Halo: Reach looks pretty cool. My friends always buy the halo games, so I play them often. They're not my first choice, but I think Halo: Reach will be a lot of fun (with friends at least).
However, garrysmod has been doing what Forgeworld is doing now for like 3 years, and a lot lot more. But Forgeworld does seem to shine in its own ways. I won't have to buy it, my friends will, so I'll see how it goes.

But the spine isn't a central nervous system so it won't disable them even if snapping it will slow them down.
Problem is we dont know, weve never really known much about the hunters.
Maybe the spine supports their weight.
Hunters have never truly been explained to us.
Its been almost ten years and we still dont know anything about them apart from them being worm monsters, its kinda annoying to be honest.
I'm kind of glad they are so much bigger. They seem like they'll be more of a threat.

I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be there unless it was needed to keep the body in shape. The armor is not really armor, more like something to keep the worms together.
Yeah, wonder what they looked like before they joined the covenant.
Because its been mentioned they had a war with the elites and prophets.
They didn't really have a war. They were orange worms burrowing in Forerunner structures. Elites couldn't fight them, since, well, they were worms in tiny tunnels. They couldn't use any large scale weaponry against them either since the relics were Forerunner.
I never knew any of this about the hunters before now.

They did battle the Hunters on ground though.
The ones who ate the relics were wiped out due to there heresy and the ones who avoided the relics joined the ranks of the elites.
The Lekgolo won most ground engagments because of their ability to combine together to make Mgalekgolo which we know as Hunters, the Covenant decided the only way they could win was the threaten to glass their planet.
Which made the Lekgolo to surrender as they didnt have ships to counter them.
It was also an Arbiter who tamed the hunters made got them to convert.
Mannn this thread made me wanna play Halo 3 again.
Then I remembered that my 360 is royally fucked.

Except it is really armour, because it protects them and deflects bullets.

How do you shoot?
[editline]08:17AM[/editline]
Nevermind, I found a gun.
What order are people gunna do the game in then? For me, it's going to be Campaign (Normal, Multiplayer), Forge World, Multiplayer, Campaign (Legendary, Singleplayer), And then a lot of playtime with FPers!
Same.
If anyone wants a goood laugh go on Bungie.net the forum threads are so funny on there mainly just because how retarded people are on there.
Found one earlier that said "GUIZ I FOUND A NEW ENEMIE GO TO 6:00 OF THIS VIDEO ITS CALLED A SKIRMISHER!"
And yes he did spell enemy, enemie.
So whats everyone gonna use as their day 1 permutations?
Wait holy shit is that Bungie scaling things correctly or are my eyes deceiving me
Bungie has always scaled things correctly.

I think maybe I'm going to do this one on Legendary from the outset. I tried normal for Halo 3, to prevent dying so much. But the pace just got all weird. I usually do Heroic, but I think for the last game I'll better prove good ol' Elliot wrong once and for all.
Lol, now that I think about it, the Halo pistol has changed so much in the timeline.
In the entire Halo canon, it has like 80 different variants.
Including the H3 ODST "Sniper Pistol" variant. I only us it to pick off enemies at a distance.
Why would it?
I hate the constant "Why isn't coming out for PC?" Learn to accept that there are three different consoles and that the PC isn't the mother of all gaming.
Would be nice if it did come out on PC though. I wish it did.
I just can't see Halo 3 on a PC. Its just not...fitting.
In the entire Halo canon, it has like 80 different variants.
Indeed
the M6G is the one in Halo 3 and Reach.
The MGD is the one in Halo 1 and Anders gun in Halo wars.
The M6C and the M6C/SOCOM are the ones in Halo 2, Halo wars and ODST.
Then you got other models like the M6J which is a carbine version with a Long barrel and a stock.
M6A and B are law enforcement models, H and F are officer models.
The K is a small concealable version.
And the M6I which is seletive fire and sports a stock.
Few more but I cant remember the rest.
I think I saw what might have been an M6I in the latest trailer.
Noble six has a gun which looks like a pistol but fires in bursts.
