It was only good for headshots.
I liked the Halo 2 pistol to be honest it just felt like a believeable handgun and it wasnt as bad as people make out.

I think the ODST and Halo 2 pistols are basicly the same, If not ARE the same.

Yeah but a belivable handgun < shielded spartans and elites. It was only really good for dualing with a plasma rifle.
[editline]06:59PM[/editline]
And it was pretty forgettable, it's the only gun from Halo 2 I can't remember what actually looks like.

Against grunts and jackals.
Halo 1 and 2 were so tight. The thing that really sold the halo series to me in the beginning though was the fact you could choose the vehicle you wanted to drive, as opposed to most games forcing you to drive a certain one.
Halo 3 was pushing it, halo wars was shit, and halo ODST was also pretty shit, and I have no idea about halo reach. It will probably be ok.
Basically this.
Am I the only one whos annoyed that they got rid of the SMG?
They said its redundent but I see it more of a counterpart to the assualt rifle.
It has its ad's and dis's over the AR.
I loved it it was faster, quick reload, lightning fast melee and a large mag.

You have no idea how happy I was when they said no SMG. It is the worse starting weapon in FPS history.
The Halo 2 SMG was the worst weapon ever. It took 2 magazines to drop someone's shields.
Halo 2's version of the M6 was actually pretty darn good if you gave it a chance.
And the SMG in Halo 2 was probably an exact copy in stats as the assault rifle in CE. Same with battle rifle to pistol.
I didnt say Halo 2 SMG did I?!?
That was shit, you people obviously dont use the Halo 3 SMG enough.
Basically this.
ODST wasn't shit, I don't know why people keep saying that. Halo 3 wasn't shitty either, but it certainly wasn't as good as 1 or 2. Just because the sequels aren't as good as the originals doesn't mean they can never be.
I'm enjoying ODST so far, I just don't like walking between levels.
I haven't used the H2 smg, but I like the H3 SMG. High Rate Of Fire, and a quick reload. I love the ODST SMG, same thing but I can scope in when I shoot.
- The SMG wasn't really that bad if you didn't go fully automatic (Halo 3, I'm not sure about 2 it's been awhile).
- The Halo 2 pistol resembles the ODST variant minus the scope.
And unless there's nobody on when I receive the game (highly doubt it), I'll probably go forging or play some custom games.
Starting variant is Mark V (unless it's locked) and some other shit.
I'll probably hit up campaign, and then once I either get tired of it or beat it (Most likely the former), I'll grab some of my friends and go fuck around on Forge World. I probably won't touch Multiplayer for awhile.
Forge World will be epic, i sense long hours of building some amazing(ly bad) map on 'The Rock' with friends :D

And that giant compensator on the front with the laser attached to it.

They feel/sound the same but the ODST pistol is far more powerful. I think.

They're the same pistol, the ODST one just has a scope and a silencer.
Right now I wish I had bought Halo 3 or ODST I'm having this strong craving for Halo action that Halo 1 and Halo 2 can't quench
I liked ODST's levels. Walking around New Mombasa, not so much.
I played up to Tsavo Highway on Halo 3, on a borrowed copy from my friend. Then I got Halo 3 ODST for 3 reasons:
1) I only liked the multiplayer of Halo 3, and this game included all DLC plus the multiplayer on one disc
2) I had actually wanted to play the ODST campaign since I heard how different it was
3) Reach Beta (No I don't regret this. It was worth the whole game.)
ODST is a really good deal if you don't have Halo 3 already.
Aside from that I never played CE or Halo 2's multiplayer, but I have to say Halo 3 multiplayer isn't bad at all. Sure, there may be better multiplayer games, but that doesn't make Halo 3 MP worse. It just seems bad in comparison.
Everyone looks at Halo 3: ODST like it's supposed to be a brand new game. I look at it like it's Halo 3: GOTY Edition. It comes with all the DLC for free, plus an extra map pack, game mode, and a whole new campaign which is better than Halo 3's in my opinion. Since GOTY editions are regularly 60 dollars or more when they come out, I'd say ODST is a pretty good buy.
Yes but it's less value for DLC owners.

Also, KingKombat, I disagree. Halo 3's multiplayer is probably one of the most balanced on the 360.

That's the way it is for every GOTY edition, but you don't see people bitching about GOTY editions being worthless to them. If you want to look at it another way, just think that you payed 60 dollars for a 10 dollar map pack, a 15 dollar gametype, probably a 15 dollar campaign, and the Halo Reach Beta. I'd say that's nearly worth 60 dollars anyways.
