Also the fact he thinks Master chief is a different person.

I was still surprised when I got to the part where you destroy Guilty Spark. I honestly didn't expect a 'final boss' to deal with, I was almost positive they'd just deal with him in the cut-scene.
Guilty Spark was so easy to destroy. Also, hearts to Bungie for including the infinite ammo splaser in the last level of H3.
god knows how long it's been since the Forerunners died.
They died approximately 100,000 years ago when the Halo array was fired. (Give or take a few centuries)
As for the fonts, listen: Halo Reach's cover uses a new version of the old Halo font. It's sleeker or something, I don't know, but it's not fake.

I guess those 1939848948912884949940 bullets that we pumped into him in Halo 1 and 2 made him really weak.

and more than 3/4ths of those bullets were pumped during the Library.
Also, I hope they bring back first person passengers

Well, that isn't rampancy per se, it's that all Forerunner constructs identify humans as Forerunner, because of the genetic similarities. HOWEVER, the rampancy does play in with the fact that Spark thinks all humans are the same.

They're on the Falcon, but I don't think you could go first person in a Hog during the beta when you called shotgun.

Chief tearing out Spark's eyeball and then taking a piss on it would've been fairly epic.
One of the (very rare) quotes that he may say when he is shot by the player in Halo 3 is "That hurt my feelings!...Oh my god, I have feelings!? I'm a real boy!" This is a refrence to Pinocchio.
Lol Guilty Spark is awesome.
Does anybody else think the fact that the Halo arrays need a HUMAN to fire them is a huge design flaw. I mean... what if humans all died out, and the flood got released anyway?
Stupid smart Forerunners.

I'm pretty sure that the Forerunners were only thinking of themselves when they designed it
The idea is that when the humans have all died out so have the flood, because the array got fired. It was a one time solution, the flood was never supposed to be released. And of course the humans were preserved in this plan, so they would still be around to fire them if need be.
It's called definition. A protagonist is the main character in a work. Master Cheif fits this in Halos 1, 2 and 3 and the overall plot of the Halo games. In Reach Noble Six is the protagonist, as we follow his adventure. Likewise, the Arbiter is the secondary character in Halos 2 and 3 and is the deuteragonist, even though you get to play him in several levels in 2.
Any character who blocks the protagonist(s) from achieving their task is the antagonist. Truth, Regret, Mercy, Tarterus and Gravemind are all antagonists, though Gravemind does temporarily ally with the protagonists he makes it clear that he only does so out of necessity and is planning on betraying them.
Spark, on the other hand, is an 'ally' for most of Halos 1, 2 and 3. Only becoming a real antagonist at the end of 3 when he decided to protect "his" ring. In Halo 1 he planned on firing Halo to stop the flood, and didn't consider John an enemy, more an ignorant, reluctant tool. In 2, as he had no ring to monitor, he helped who ever showed the most respect for protocol, and who he thought could be used to fire the Halo Array (the humans). In 3 he was an 'ally' for almost the entire game, only becoming a true antagonist once he considered the humans a threat to his plan to contain the flood. (Though he had probably been rampant for hundreds, if not thousands, of years by that point and become metastable, until the humans stood in the way of protocol by destroying Halo again.)
Missing something? You never got to the part where an antagonist is needed. In fact you just admitted that Halo 1 doesn't really have one. And that works just fine without.

I think its for the best anyway, i mean would you want any alien who comes along to be able to kill everything in the galaxy?

It didn't have an antagonist, but it had 2 antagonistic forces, the Covenant and the Flood. You can't have a protagonist without a struggle, and most struggles are against an antagonist. If it wasn't for the Covenant Halo:CE would never have happened, hence, they are collectively antagonistic.
Sure. That was what I was arguing anyway. The "faceless legion" if you recall. I just don't really see the need for a singular antagonist character just because "that's how you do it".

Did you read what I wrote? There isn't just one antagonist, there's five. An antagonist is someone who actively opposes the protagonist(s). There can be any number of antagonists.
1.245 post memory span annoys BmB.

I think he is saying, that in reach, like in halo CE, there is no specific antagonist, that just the covenant as a whole are the antagonists like in Halo CE

Except he never said anything about Reach. He was wondering why people were trying to figure out if Spark was an antagonist or not, calling it a "cookie cutter", even though these are standard definitions that anyone who's been to an English class should know.
People were trying to figure out if 343 was an antagonist because of that post mate. Which was a response to a post wondering how they were going to incorporate an antagonist into Reach.

Ah, I missed that one. There probably wont be a main antagonist in Reach, just the Covenant as a whole.
Exactly.
It's so annoying when people who don't disagree with you try to disagree with you. :/
I still get sad everytime I realize this is the last halo game. Such a great series ending sucks, big time :sigh:
If they wanted to get rid of the flood permanently then why the fuck did they keep specimens locked up to study on the rings? That was OBVIOUSLY going to come back to bite everyone in the ass.

The Forerunners wanted to save ALL life, Flood included. So they contained them on the Halos. The only people who could possibly release them would be warned of the threat and told the propper protocols. The only reason the flood escaped was the Covenant letting them out on 04 and Tangent going rampant and disrearding protocol on 05.

yeah, I wondered that, I guess it just wouldn't be a very good story otherwise.

How would a catastrophic failure manage to top saving the entire galaxy?
