:argh: I still haven't unlocked it!
Except everyone who wore it was a huge dick
Them there's fightin' words.
Psh, CQB helmet is easily cooler than security. All security had goin' for it was a shoulder antennae. Personall prefferred the ODST helmet.
I mainly used Security helmet because I recently unlocked it.
ODST body found.
http://www.bungie.net/images/Games/Reach/images/screenshots/80610/CUTOUTS/1920/spartan_female_DMR.jpg
May not be 100% like ODST body but all the bodys are based on attachments rather than a whole new body.
Nothing on that armor looks remotely similar to the ODST armor.
Psh, CQB helmet is easily cooler than security. All security had goin' for it was a shoulder antennae. Personall prefferred the ODST helmet.
I never liked CQB. I prefer the Scout helmet.
My favorites were Scout and Rogue.
Security and Mark V were the best.
Period.
Security, Rogue and Hayabusa are my favourites. I know Hayabusa is overused but it's still cool.
Scout, Security and Rogue were definitely my favorites.
ODST, Rogue and both Marks :3:
Security, Mk. V and EOD represent.
Because the latter two were kind of... finalising all that was happening. The first one gave you a sense of more to come. Tickled your curiosity as to what might come next.
The last two were like, "right, we're wrapping this all up, now. It's coming to an end. You know the Chief probably won't get woken up 'cos this is the end of the Halo story arc".
Not really true with Halo 2, considering quite literally nothing is going right for anyone anywhere at the end, "finishing this fight" is the beginning of the end, rather than the end itself.
I thought Halo 1's ending was rather unremarkable, sure you got away and beat the flood for now. But it was a very safe ending. Halo 2 carried with it great peril and anticipation, and Halo 3 was charged with the combined momentum of the entire franchise. And the cinematics were just better.
I have seen few things quite as beautiful, tranquil and sad as [sp]when Master Chief towers over Cortana while the Halo goes off over the Ark behind them.[/sp]
EOD, Security, ODST, Mark V helmets were great. EOD in reach looks AWESOME.
God it was a cliffhanger if I've ever seen one.. the difference being.. do they decide to leave it as a cliffhanger or do they resolve it?
n.
1. A melodramatic serial in which each episode ends in suspense.
2. A suspenseful situation occurring at the end of a chapter, scene, or episode.
3. A contest so closely matched that the outcome is uncertain until the end.
Sounds like the Halo 3 ending to me. A cliffhanger is what leaves you 'wanting more' or to see what happened after the curtains closed. What you should be saying is they're leaving it at a cliffhanger, not that it isn't a cliffhanger.
And yeah, Microsoft do need Halo on top of the fact that Frank O'Conner said they would be assholes to leave the MC story and considering he's ex-Bungie and now runs 343 Industries at Microsoft, I'd say it's pretty certain they'll resolve or continue the events succeeding Halo 3.
Hate to pull rank and belabor the point, but I teach literature. The above rather broad definition is true for a story and a plot. Halo 1-3 story, plot was resolved during Halo 3. H3's center of action revolved around defeating the Covenant and the Flood. At the end of Halo 3, the Covenant and the Flood are both defeated; therefore, the plot is resolved. If you view the story as a more broader one, being "What happens to Master Chief," then yeah, you can say that the plot is left unresolved as we don't know what happens to MC as he drifts towards that planet.
But the main problem with that is that "What happens to Master Chief" is not the actual plot of the trilogy. MC happens to be the main protagonist, and his story is left unresolved in an "unresolved character arc". There may be a new story and a new plot revolving around MC.
For examples of "unresolved character arcs," you can watch the following movies:
Inception [sp]Main conflicts of the plot resolved, but top keeps spinning.[/sp]
The Thing [sp]The protagonist and antagonist are left watching each other freeze to death. [/sp]
Lost in Translation [sp]Bill Murray's character whispers something, but we don't hear it. Will blonde chick free herself from her husband?[/sp]
Lock, Stock, Two Smoking Barrels. [sp]protagonists survive, but one is about to dump some very expensive guns into the river. Does he? [/sp]
Indiana Jones/James Bond - every one ends with Indy/Bond winning, but we know he will continue to have more adventures as he rides/flies off into the sunset.

That is to say, I don't want to know what happened after what Master Chief did for the galaxy and want to know what happens to Master Chief, I thought that would have been clear.
I have a little theory as to what's going to happen with the games.
If this is the 'last Halo game' and Bungie have a contract with Activision to develop a new series then..
Microsoft certainly won't sell over the Halo franchise to Activision so that Bungie can keep making it.. so I think then perhaps Reach WILL be the last Halo title and Bungie create a new franchise that follows what happens to Chief after he entered the portal.. and possibly write him into a Marathon re-make or something similar.
It's a pretty weak theory but remember a few folk at Bungie have now confirmed that Master Chiefs story is not over and it would be an asshole move to not finish it off and based on the fact that Microsoft would never sell the Halo title to another distributor, then the continuation of Master Chiefs plot can't be in a Halo title.. then maybe whatever Bungie make with Activision will use Master Chief.
[editline]02:53AM[/editline]
Essentially it would be a spin-off but developed into it's own full standalone franchise.
[editline]02:55AM[/editline]
Or they're not making another game with MC because they're making a damn movie called 'Halo' that follows the events post-Halo 3
Mate, Halo's gone after this. 343's taking over, and we're likely not going to get another big game for a long, long time. Expect comics, books and maybe a webseries, if anything. Sorry guys, but Bungie's already said their new project for Activision has nothing to do with Halo at all. The Chief's story will end with a book, or a comic. If we do get another game, it's not going to be for awhile. 343 was hiring, but we can't say for what yet. I suspect Waypoint's the key to all of this.

Yeah, that was truly an amazing scene. Most fantastic for me was when the Chief finds Cortana. I shed a tear of manliness.
(don't bother spoiler tagging unless it has to do with Reach, boys, Halo 3's been out for 3 years now)
I used to use the Scout Helmet, but now I use the Security helmet
If the Halo Legends episode ORIGINS is canon or not(I assume it is), then Chief and Cortana were drifting to a Forerunner Home world(or THE forerunner home world). Maybe he will don the Forerunner Armor that was locked up there, and have a real final battle against the Flood(only logical enemy choice, really). That means the fuckin' biggest battle fans have wanted since Halo 2 but never got(as in a showdown against the Gravemind).
Origins is considered light canon. 343 can easily retcon anything from it should they want to.
And if it is a Forerunner planet, my bet's that the environments in any form of media portraying it are going to be beautiful. Destroyed ultratech. Holograms malfunctioning, formerly pristine, silver buildings rusting, Flood growth in certain areas...and in the middle of all that, the Chief, just walking through it.
[editline]03:09PM[/editline]
Just to clarify guys, Halo canon is loosely, this;
Hard Canon:
-Main Trilogy
-ODST
-Reach
-All of the books(this one may differ, as The Flood is considered by many to be incredibad and non-canon)
Light Canon:
-Comics
-All expanded universe content.
I have a better definition:
Bungie: Canon
Everything else: can go to hell
Nothing on that armor looks remotely similar to the ODST armor.
Youre not looking hard enough.
Its on the chest instead of the waist.

Games first, then books, then other shit. I believe Bungie has stated this.

They have, but the statement varies and people tend to disregard it. I think, for the sake of our conversations on Facepunch, that's the basic bit we need to stick to.
Why does FacepunchReach only have 7 friends on the account?
Start adding it!
It should probably be added to the OP in big red letters.
I think I missed it, is that the account that every one adds so they dont have a bunch of FPers cluttering their friends list, and they just go to friends of friends through it?
Yeah....ADD IT!
what is it?
FacepunchReach.
Also who has control of the account does anyone know?
