You know how Infinity Ward/Activision had some strange fetish for "Oorah" and "Oscar Mike"? Well, I played Uplift Reserve on the ODST campaign yesterday and heard both of those come from Dutch. I was a little shocked.
I might just get Halo Reach if it is good, and renew my Xbox live.
When will they actually continue the story of Master Chief instead of making damn prequels?
I think never. I recall Bungie saying that Reach is their last Halo game.

I recall that another company is continuing the Halo series. I forgot the name though.
Halo is becoming what Call of Duty is now.
Same stuff, different weapon, different map.
Thats like saying reach is a battlefield knock off cause you can choose what class you play.
stop being stupid, don't start this "Oblivion with guns!" shit again.
Well I've played some ODST now. The campaign is really great, haven't finished it yet but I think I'm at the ending. Well I'm searching some guys which want to play firefight, I don't have any friends who own ODST. And you can only play with friends only.
What a sexy little coincedince, there were 117 new posts just now. :v:

Added a Future of The Franchise section, probably going to expand on it later.
Man, I remember all of the splitscreen fun I had. From throwing plasma grenades at a warthog hurtling at you or a demolition derby with ghosts, there were some really good times.
Well, Halo has always been weak on characters. We're talking about the game that has Master Chief as the main character here. Not because Nylund excels at that at all, I mean god knows who Linda and Frank and whatever are by now, I can't remember. Heck the only name I really remember from the books is Jenkins, and that wasn't even from the books.
But heh, if you want clusterfuck you should try reading something by Peter F. Hamilton. The Commonwealth saga has like 40 main characters, not to speak of nights dawn which I am told exceeds 60.
[editline]02:13PM[/editline]
But again, the games did have a colourful cast of memorable characters. So I don't know.
Uhh. I'm like 1/2 to 2/3 of the way through The Neutronium Alchemist (second book in The Night's Dawn Trilogy) and I have been for well over a year. I've not really had the chance (what with school and all) to read much, and when I do get the chance I dread picking it up again (because I know it's gonna take ages to read and remember what's going on).
That's not to say the story telling is bad though. When you DO sit down and read it it's fucking immersive. Then you flick through the book and realise you have another 800 pages to go or something and you're like :saddowns:

I don't even care if my Xbox 360 wont play it, I still love it :3:.
Your 360 will still play it, it's just that you won't be able to play it online anymore. Sucks how they include a now useless Xbox Original Live trial though.

343 Industries. They also worked on Halo Wars with Ensemble Studios.
Hahaha Halo 3 is nothing on legendary.
Tried the library on legendary?
I'm going to have to disagree. Halo 1's legendary was indeed pretty impossible, especially The Library, and it's true that most of Halo 3's legendary was challenging but easily completed with skill--however, Cortana wasn't even possible like The Library eventually was. It was a downright clusterfuck that you had to run and luck yourself through to beat.
Plus the goddamn melee lunge feature meant you missed the smaller quick Combat forms 1/2 of the time.
Halo 2s legendary was the most difficult. Heroic in Halo 2 was like Legendary in Halo: CE. So Legendary in Halo 2 was like... what Mythic WOULD BE if it existed in Halo: CE.
Halo 3s Legendary is pretty easy. I play Halo 3 on Legendary with most of the skulls on to make it more challenging.
I was so pissed off when I was trying to get enough points in 'Cortana' to get that achievement. I was under the impression you needed 50000 points for that achievement, so I kept getting near the end of the level with only 47000 or something, and I'd get really frustrated and then start again.
Eventually I got right near the end of level with something like 51000 points (Legendary with every skull except for Iron and Blind, I think) at which point my friend came around and asked if I wanted to come out. I told him that I'd be 5 more minutes because I was just finishing the level and that I'd finally surpassed 50000 points, and he says to me:
"You do know you only need 25000 points for the achievement, right?" (or however many points it is).
I must have looked very stern and serious when he told me that.
Halo 1's Legendary in co-op was basically have one person hide while someone else clear the room. If the person clearing the room died, they would spawn on the other person and the other person would go.
[editline]11:13PM[/editline]
At least, that's how I cleared the Maw.
That sucks. None of my friends play Halo anymore because they think that Modern Warfare 2 is the best game ever. I said I was gonna buy Halo: CE off of the XBL marketplace, and one of my friends said, "Don't, I was playing multiplayer with my friend--" Me: "Halo 1 didn't have multiplayer." Him: "Well I was playing against him and, ugh. Just don't get it." I'm calling bullshit.
Halo one CE is worth having for a rainy day or when your LIVE is down.

it had splitscreen/systemlink :v:
I want to buy Halo: CE and Halo 2 so I can play through the campaign and find out what I missed. My live account can't download M-rated content so I'll try to get silver on a different account and download it then. I don't think I'm gonna renew my Live membership after my current runs out. I'll just by splitscreen oriented games.

I'm calling bullshit on the fact that Halo: CE sucks. He just hates Halo in general.
Why does that Space Marine in OP have green armor but no Dark Angel marks?
I fucking hate the normal gamemodes, its all "geet tteh turret lel" or snipers EVERYWHERE.
Infection I love. And grifball too.

No, it isn't. What game have you been playing?
It's all about the goddamn fucking bullshit BR.

Really? The first game I played for a while was so filled with snipers that you couldn't take a single step outside without getting raped.
I love the double Exp weekend stuff and was pumped when I saw that it was living dead. So then I was playing on Avalanche and started off as an infected, I was like okay, this should be fun. I was having fun hammering the uninfected guys until there was one guy left, camping in the cliffside. He would just BR our asses until the time ran out. By that point I'm just saying, fuck you camping bastards. Then they would camp in another spot. I got pissed.
I now own all five halo games books and comics and got legendary edition for reach

Yeah, luckily the bigger gaps between weaponry in Halo: Reach remedies the camping aspect. Hopefully infection gets a redo as well.
I think that I'll pre-order Reach. It looks awesome. Although it somewhat resembles ODST with being the new guy in a group.

Well, the idea is that this time, YOU are the Spartan. Not the Master Chief, not the Rookie, you are the character. Hence why your multiplayer customized Spartan carries over.
I didn't necessarily say that that was a bad thing, Reach somewhat resembling ODST. I personally loved ODST, how it was a new and different experience and you weren't the only one who could do something.
I dont know why people flame ODST, i found it a good deal, 1 disc of Firefight and the SP, second disc all map packs of Halo 3.
