Also "Adrian tore the arms off of aliens and shot other aliens with it". I have no idea what are you talking about. Only Gordon was the one to carry torn off Alien Grunt's arm (But he didn't tear it off, neither did Adrian.). Adrian on the other hand picked Barnacle, some bazooka creature and electric ant from the ground.
The Spore Launcher, the Shock Roach(Shock Trooper's weapon), the Barnacle and the Hivehand(Agrunt's weapon) are all separate aliens that can be used as weapons by being placed on one's arm.

So that point can't be used to tell who's cooler.
They are a very powerful race/union, but they apparently letted their guard down too much when HL2 started and that fucked them over.
Consider it has been about ten years since the Combine has taken over from the seven hour war, I would say that the damage they truly caused would have been from the first four years, the next six died down into a steady march. If you look at the stories behind Half-Life 2, the world of Half-Life (2) is a very, very dark place, they didn't let their guard down, they just had no idea how to handle a one-man planetary army :v: why do you think they sent Hunters? I say that the only reason we saw hunters in Episode 1's screens and then in-game on Episode 2 was because they had to use deadly force to get shit done now. Gordon probably caused that, otherwise they'd probably just sent a gunship or two to do some damage. And that's a thought I've just come up with, on Episode 2 we see gunships flying above striders, soldiers, and advisor pods on the bridge of the Antlion fight, so how come we never see them again
Seven hours, not a week.
That's the Seven Hour War, not the Rebellion. It was a week, maybe a bit more, because of the slow teleport.
And that's a thought I've just come up with, on Episode 2 we see gunships flying above striders, soldiers, and advisor pods on the bridge of the Antlion fight, so how come we never see them again
The gunships were probably shot down, the striders were on the last chapter, the advisor might be one of the two who killed eli, and the soldiers probably stormed a different part of White Forest
Both are equally awesome. Now Valve, give us a Gordon/Adrian co-op campaign plox. Now that's just wishful thinking.
Adrian is a soldier, trained to do what he does. And yet Freeman is able to do his job much better without the years of training.
Least pathetic thread ever lol jk
Adrian has a helmet, Gordon hasn't. /thread
Adrian has a helmet, Gordon hasn't. /thread
And even then Gordon kicked more ass than Adrian without the helmet.
I have a thought, or an idea for valve. how about Adrain and Gordon team up in HL2:ep3/HL3. the co-op would be awsome.
That was pretty much just suggested in this page alone somewhere. Although as nifty as it would be they'd have to go to the trouble of making a trailer about it. Plus it's going to involve lot's more time of scripting and shit because there's another guy there, it's not like the Portal 2 co-op, because they are two different people other than one robot with the protagonist.
RAGE MODE ACTIVATED MISLEADING TITLE YOU SON OF A BITCH :argh: RAGE MODE DE-ACTIVATED I hit agree thinking you meant adrian was better then gordon. [editline]01:53PM[/editline]
And even then Gordon kicked more ass than Adrian without the helmet.
INB4 He Never Played OpFor
And even then Gordon kicked more ass than Adrian without the helmet.
That's what I meant, he had less protection and still kicked more arse.
Half Life > MW2
No wonder Barney hasn't coughed up the beer yet. He owes millions of people a beer. He'd be stone hard broke!
But seeing as there are millions of him, I'm sure he'll find a way to buy the beers.
When was the helicopter going to crash? and I think the whole ''vorts saved gordon'' thing needs to be explained in EP3, its kind of either way right now
Because the vorts were slaves and Gordon freed them.
I still don't see how OF and BS are not canon. They fit fucking PERFECTLY into the Half Life storyline and BS Bridges the gap between HL1 and HL2 (although the bridge isn't complete, BS started the metaphorical bridge of how most people got out of Black Mesa)
Gordon defeated an army that took 7 hours to take over earth
Gordon defeated an army that took 7 hours to take over earth
If he had defeated them then how did they take over the earth? :downs:
Gordon defeated an army that took 7 hours to take over earth
He is fighting them along the rebels and he achieved partial success, he hasn't defeated them yet.
That's because G-Man used Gordon and not Shephard. That argument is invalid and stupid.
so the weapon selection and the 'powered reactive armor' was just accessory?
He shouldn't even have a UI since he never had the helmet.

The only thing that isn't canon is the Race X from Opposing Force.
Gordon Freeman is a theoretical physicist on his first big assignment with minimal on-site training who put a magic space rock in a laser and accidentally fucked over the entire human race for the next 20 or so years. He at least tried to stop it, Shepard was just saving his own skin.
well, yea. cause' gman fucked him over.
Shepard talked?
Shepard talked?
Isn't the first thing he said: "Get up Private Allen!"
They both awesome /thread
