I have the nomads pinned down pretty good if you want to take their home world you'll need at lest 7 of you. You can board my ship to do so and respawn from there if you die also. I have no interest myself I just plan to stay here until they give up with the idea of attacking us.
Server back up boys

Well today was a productive day, made a space station that was TL3 (i could do alot better but we have a cryo problem and i myself am trying to level up my wells for better oils) and i made a new ship that one of our fellow people suggested i get and so i'm safer if a bit slower.
stuck limboing
Ooo... I'll join, whats our name?
Ooo... I'll join, whats our name?
Facepunch Empire :v: Limbo time!
Im here for a little bit - time to start the search for hel! Okay, there is -one- wormhole route linking us the NDC and nomads, that's it, pretty much O.o ... Which means it should be easy to defend against them. Make that two, the main route splits into a fork near our end.
The servers are obviously fucked up right now. Limbo when I try to log on, and the players online display has shown 26 players for near five hours now. So as far as I can tell we have the exact same game as six months ago, stability-wise.
This is a much more stable game. Your showing your lack of experience playing the game with that statement.
Is anybody able to log in? stuck in Limbo here.
Seems like we are waiting for the devs to fix the problem. I would expect a patch or two today also since yesterdays didn't fix it.
This is a much more stable game. Your showing your lack of experience playing the game with that statement.
Seriously? The way it has acted the past few days is exactly how it was a few months ago. Almost every day the servers crapped out, forcing a restart. I am sure the back-end is heavily improved, but as of now, most of those same problems seem to be in place again.
If the blame can be placed on anyone it should be us, with our huge empire and the influx of new recruits (myself included). Yes, I've been following this game for some time and was just never assed to figure it out until now. All I need to figure out now is how to captain a ship and how to build colonies. After that there won't be much left for me to figure out. Speaking of which, the learning curve for this game isn't half as bad as you guys make it sound. It just has a retarded interface is all. Just like Wurm Online, the game is decievingly simple.

The ship editor is usable even when someone does some stupid stuff. Also was lag, bad lag that would go on for hours. For the most part now when the server is up the game is playable and server up time is much higher then before. As a note people Limbo is not the endless loading screen when you can not connect. Limbo is when you go to connect and you'll notice it will say whereabouts unknown and you'll also get a endless loading screen. I believe this happens because the login server does not know what game sever to put you with. For the most part this has also been fixed.

A lot of the learning curve "problems" come from people who don't bother reading the tutorial or the manual. A lot of stuff can be figured out, and the rest can be asked about. When it comes down to it I guess the game isn't that complicated, yes. But man is it awesome. Still, the servers have been somewhat broken the past days. Seems every time I can play something is wrong with the server. Like now. Yesterday was the same deal, and the two days before that. But when the servers are up I do see that it is heavily improved. The only things he really need to fix is stabilizing the servers, removing the "invisible ship" bug and fix the FPS lag. Then the game can really be made one of the best space-games ever. Heck, it is pretty far along that path already.

I come from the old days where if you asked someone how to do something you got "RTFM" in response (for those who don't know, it means "Read The Fucking Manual"). I read the manual and any info I could find while downloading/installing the game. I must say, broadband is making it harder to read game manuals before the game is done loading lol.
This game can be confusing but if you are new, here's a brotip. Walk over to a spaceship parked on the floor with nobody inside, chances are, it's been manufactured and not used. walk inside, press f3 to open the comms. now click they yellow button on the top bar of the comms window and select intercom. With the intercom window open walk inside an empty ship and press the button in the comms window that looks like a thumbs up. If nobody owns the ship it will automatically register you as captain. now click the button that looks like a ramp with a green arrow pointing up it. leave the box next to offer crew berths blank (this will open up maximum berths) you should get an intercom message saying (x number of crewmen loaded) or something similar. Congratulations you now have your own ship, and if this is the first thing you ever did, you are also bollocks naked. Call yourself captain pants-less and go fourth into the dark yonder... And promptly crash into a nearby planet.
What we need is a good description to put in the OP for all the new players. It does help by the way.C I would read it, I remember reading the original OP and it had alot more information. Ours should atleast have a link to useful thing and a "how to get started" tutorial.
I HAVE FOUND THE ROUTE TO HELL. Hel. Hell? Whutever its a route lolz.

You'd probably want to build a broker and a airport to transport supplies inbetween your colony and a larger base in the same solar system.
I HAVE FOUND THE ROUTE TO HELL. Hel. Hell? Whutever its a route lolz.
Are you online?
I HAVE FOUND THE ROUTE TO HELL. Hel. Hell? Whutever its a route lolz.
Please type out the route so we can follow it back. Hel is a system right next to our home world you just need one more jump are you are at our place. A few jumps from hel is the nomad home world.
Stuck at "Logging into Server..." I created a new empire, because for some reason, can't connect to "Facepunch Empire" edit: still stuck at Logging into Server :S edit: Facepunch Empire: Attempt to join an existing empire failed for the following reason. The empire does not permit open immigration. uh okay...
I think the server has died because it has said the same 26 players all day.

A few jumps from hel is the nomad home world.
Yeah, about that. Its a bit vague, the route. The systems aren't named, I can't log in at the moment, and rather than being a 'direct' route to hel, its sort of more a route that enters into the NDC/Nomad territory.
limbo is over, I am on the server (not in fp empire, preparing my own one for if my friend would want to join me. So far, the are just killing Targoss and asking stuff) [editline]11th January 2011[/editline] I just landed at this, planet, not sure if it's special but here's what I found: Toxic rain 22C scattered ice, and only a very small island. Is this a frigid planet? [editline]11th January 2011[/editline] It are 3 pyramids, I am on the 3rd. [editline]11th January 2011[/editline] And there's a dense wall of clouds in the atmosphere, making the planet look like a plain, green ball.
Time to start flattening it out with landing pads.
My god This looks so cool (it does to me) [editline]11th January 2011[/editline]
Time to start flattening it out with landing pads.
Is it a frigid planet? [editline]11th January 2011[/editline] oh, it's an outer.
if you give an order to your ship in limbo, when you log on, it will have followed it.
