The one you just created? Or the old one?
New one.
What's going to be the name of our capital?
What's going to be the name of our capital?
I think we should just set up some steam group and have a meeting about things like that, would be easier.
Sounds good actually, the last one died out of in-active leadership and some other issues. If someone goes in-active or people do not totally agree with their way of leadership, they could be voted out. Though, this can be used by our enemies as-well, by joining our empires in tons of numbers and voting themselves up. Hopefully that won't happen though.
Actually the last one died from inactive non-leadership. Thousands of newbies joining each day, demanding one-to-one help and transport across the galaxy from the few who had starships and then logging off forever after a few hours. This meant about 4 people were doing everything, absolutely everything and it was stressful as fuck and got boring as fuck so we quit. If I recall correctly you were one of the newbies at the time who asked for a lot of help and because we were so strained you flipped a shit and threatened to make your own empire so we dumped you with some other guy on a distant planet to do your thing.
Last time I created my own empire with a friend, we colonized 2 planets and a moon before we quit, so I'm bringing some experience with me. This time I will join you guys because I don't want to play alone most of the time again. I logged in today to see if the lag was fixed, but unfortunately it wasn't for me, so hopefully the restart should fix that.

I joined his empire, It survived 4 days. Made my own empire, everything went swell. I did ask for help yes, but I tried not to be too much of a bother, but you guys just dropped me on the other side of a planet with him :saddowns:
There's really no point. The chances of your empire and Facepunch's empire spawning close together are 1%. Due to predicted size, the Facepunch empire will also grow a lot faster. And if everything goes as planned, everyone will get their own spot of land in the galaxy, don't worry. Though I won't stop you, It'd be a lot better for all parts if you just joined us instead. [editline]30th December 2010[/editline] Hmm, think I'm gonna go and save my ship designs locally, could be useful.
On restart we will be close, at least my definition of close I.E 1 Sector apart or in the same sector.
Seeing New Years is getting every so close, we should start making some desciscions. We need a steam group to have a group discussion, if nobody has made one yet, I can.
Scout1 started his own back when we were Arceon. I'm not sure if he's going to play SoH though so you might want to make a new one.
I'll join this if possible, it looks fun!
http://steamcommunity.com/groups/facehazeron Atleast we got somewhere to chat.
Scout1 started his own back when we were Arceon. I'm not sure if he's going to play SoH though so you might want to make a new one.
Not unless the game gets some major changes. I will, however, be watching the thread to give advice and follow the FP empire.
All I've been told is ship structure will change after the restart I have no idea what exactly changes though.

Does anyone think it might be a good idea to set up a 'training camp' or something, and a volunteer could help the new people, rather than them pissing everyone off?
If you want training create a new empire before the restart and look up the guides for help. It's how I learned. We'll probably do that though when the restart comes.
The lag will be much improved. The engine has to handle hundreds of thousands of planets because of the 3400+ empires that were created.
I probably created 20 systems just testing out races.
So far we have this: - Democratic - Human-like race with black hair that can jump - several of these allied together - first objective is elidium and cryozine Or at least that's what I've gathered from the thread.
We should all have a discussion in the steam group chat of how we're planning this.
I will most likely join, I tried this game once back when Arceon was still functional. I realized I had no clue what I was doing so I started my own empire, which was quite successful until I logged off for a month and came back to realize my empire had been taken over and that is when I stopped playing.
I actually made a empire in the last few days that was space faring so if anyone wants I can make the next one
Does anyone mind explaining what this is? I done some searching, but nothing really explains what it is, and how it all works. Just saying, so people like me might give a shot.

Just saying, so people like me might give a shot.
Its a MMO. You start out with a race that you create yourself. From there you build a city and collect resources and build components. Eventually you have enough stuff to make a rocket. You take the rocket and a few essential supplies to another planet and set up a base. You get some resources you cant get from your home planet and ship it home. From there you make your first space ship and continue spreading across your system, and eventually your sector...etc. All while others are doing the exact same thing. You can have wars, or simply explore. Even trade, its all up to you.
set up a crap empire to test out the game yesterday dear god the lag..
set up a crap empire to test out the game yesterday dear god the lag..
You might want to wait until the restart. It should be alot less laggy then. Too much crap clogging the servers at the moment.

Also, the game is extremely confusing :v: EDIT: On a side note, where does ore/rock (whatever it is) go when you use a mining thing? And is there some sort of central storage where everything is kept?
Stuff produced from factories and mines goes into the city's inventory. To take things from that inventory you need to buy it from a broker, but you can still "fetch" items for building sites and factories for free.

Restart's happening. [editline]31st December 2010[/editline] Empire Status cleared.
Fuck it, I'm joining this hella party.
