I really like the slutty Alyx models.

I always loved the atmosphere in his maps, but all the other stuff just isn't my cup of tea.

His textures are to grainy, his maps are exaggerated with to much junk, and his models mostly the women are terribad.

Some of the maps look good but HL2 is not about looking good, it's about the ruined city and its suburbs that were destroyed by the combine during and after the 7 hour war

The maker of the mod is an asshat for pulling it. :(

I am really sad about people who are not satisfied with just ignoring a mod, they don't like. I can understand some of the people who say the models are not to their liking, but have those who complained (not those who wrote actual helpful critique) even thought about just ignoring the mod and get on with their lifes? I think it's not hard to proof that what they do by complaining over and over to Fakefactroy is wrong. It's just hard to get them to understand that, to show them that the proof you present is valid. Let me give you a analogy: If you have a car you don't like, do you actually buy it? No, I don't think so, because thats what testdrives are for. You try it, you see that you don't like it, you give it back to the salesman and tell him "Sorry pal, that's not what I'm looking for." Then you went on to search for a different car and you just ignore the car you don't like. Is the carmaker to blame that you don't like tha car? No, because there is a great variance of people with different likings. Some would actually love the car you don't like. So what? Just leave them be. Also complaining about the color of your car, after you buyed it, even if you chose the color is stupid. If someone would come to you, complaining about the color of his car again and again, wouldn't it annoy you? Don't you want to tell him "Shut the hell up dumbass! It's your own damn fault for choosing the wrong color. Now get out of my face and deal with it!" Here is another example: You have something you don't like to eat. Will you buy/order it? Maybe once - you have to find out that it's not to your liking. Will you order it a second time? Probably not. Why? Because you don't like it. What kind of guy orders the meal he don't like over and over again just to call the manager and tell him that he actually don't likes potatoes and carrots. Doesn't that sound stupid? Why did you order the meal in the first place if you already know that there are potatoes and carrots in it? Because you would be a stupid guy. Is the chef to blame for a meal where something is in it that you don't like? I don't think so, since you personally ordered the meal. For other people it might be a fine meal and they would enjoy it. You would probably ruin a nice evening for somebody who wants to just enjoy the meal. Lets take for example a frequenter in your favourite bar. This guy just keeps complaining about a drink (it hasn't be your favourite drink, and maybe you don't like the drink too) day by day. So, after a hard working day you want to enjoy a cold beer and be alone to think a bit (or just to relax) but this guy near you just keeps complaining about this drink he is ordering everyday. The bartender changed the drink already sometimes, but it's just not to the complaining guys liking. Don't you want to grab this guy and tell him "Look pal, if you don't like the drink, why don't you order something else instead, just shut your face, I want to enjoy my beer!" Even the guys who are against the mod must accept and see that this is a given fact. Are those who keep complaining about things they don't have to use admitting that they are stupid? I actually believe so because Fakefactory actually made a characterpimper so that you can choose what NPC model you want to use. I just don't understand why people keep complaining about things they can change by themselfes (by just changing the models to the original valve models). If they are offended by the mod itself, it's just more illogical to even download it. It's not like ignoring the mod will make you a bad person, like ignoring a little girl who can't get down from a high tree and is crying. Just try to understand that. Furthermore it's not like Fakefactory is gaining anything from people using his mod. If you don't like the mod, it's okay. If you don't use it, it's okay. If you don't like it AND use it, it's okay too. But if you don't like it, use it AND complain about it, you are just stupid! Don't you guys see that for yourself? PS: This post was probably too long for most of the CM-haters, still, I wanted to get this off my chest. Maybe you agree with me, maybe not. Maybe you saw your mistakes - which is good - maybe not (then you probably haven't even read this far and just started flaming me or this thread). I don't care. What I care about is that Fakefactory is being bothered by those guys who aren't even using this mod. I care about getting also a CM 10.90 and any future version of it, because I like it. I may not like all of the models, but that's my own problem, and I can deal with it (because I am able to use the characterpimper). PPS: No, I'm not a native english speaking guy, so stick mistakes in my grammar and orthography up where the sun don't shine if you are bothered by it. In future I'll be sure to just stroke the ego's of developers and avoid giving them any feedback that might actually be useful to them and allow them to improve their mods. Whether you like it or not, negative feedback is needed to help developers see mistakes they did not know or care about and allow them to fix it.

This is almost identical to what happened to this oblivion modder "Slof". She made a bunch of mods that gave the characters penises and people complained and sent her hate mail, so she removed ALL of her mods (Many of which were good, most of which were shit anyways so it wasn't that big of a loss) And now she stopped modding. I guess the only difference is, fake factory has never made anything good.
