Yeah, seriously that one is just horrible. Interceptor was somewhat alright. But Enforcer is total crap.
Jesus fuck how do two aquanauts miss a gillman two squares away firing at full auto
Military elite my ass
Just bought the UFO trilogy on amazon since it's only £5, now to get X-Com from steam.
I've been playing Terror from the Deep on my PSP and it's really good.
Oh boy a Terror Mission at night in a forest.
This ought to be fun.
Yeah, I just started a new game in Enemy Unknown. First mission and my guys couldn't hit jack shit. 5 died at the end because of stupidity.
I have 138 hours in X-com and that's only after I bought it on steam :D. Seriously, best game I have ever played, also got the best game award of all time at ign. Amazing, everyone should play it.
does anyone have Xenonauts? whats the current version like compared to the project status page on there website, from a quick look at the forums it seems they dont keep that uptodate
X-COM is a fucking awesome series
Two lobster men wiped out my aquanauts with grenades.

i think they make new updates every monday, adding a bunch of features/fixing bugs
That the new X-Com is a FPS doesn't really surprise me, major publishers do this shit all the time.
Good thing we can still count on indie devs!
To be honest i think it has a pretty good concept- they simply should not have called it X-Com, because besides the fact that you fight alinums, and that you can research them, it has pretty much nothing to do with the original X-Com series.
I adore the original Enemy Unknown, I name the soldiers after groups of friends and whatnot and compare their efforts to how I'd imagine their real self would do :v: Usually play it every other weekend when I'm at my dads as I only have access to my shitty laptop there.

Xenonauts is really progressing well. The devs did a great work recently. The community is small but pretty active. A lot of community members are also helping out the devs with ideas, feedback and general support. They are also about to release a new version which will be given to some online magazines and some known youtube commentators like TotalBuiscit and such.
I nearly thought that I had died during the summer, but now there is a lot of activity going on. The last version of the Alpha was already pretty playable. The main focus now will be balancing and tweaking.
Is the UFO series related to X-Com?
UFO Series is so called spiritual successor to the X-Com series but it's not made by the same people, no.
Well, the first X-Com was called X-Com: UFO Defense in the US, but it was called UFO: Enemy Unknown in Europe, dunno why.
Got the cover from wikipedia, I don't think it's that enthralling, TBH.

Yeah i always wondered... Confusing
In terror from the deep the aliens always start with awesome guns, and my aquanauts always get sniped to death.

i decided to get the alpha, its pretty decent, i hope the adjust the crashed ufo graphic sometimes it can obscure your view while still giving the aliens a clear shot. have they got terror missions/base invasions implemented yet i havnt got past the first couple of weeks because 8.41 tends to crash
Yeah, it isn't a fully playable version. You are not supposed to play the game properly in it's full state. I bet developement will still take at least half of a year.
This is my favourite game of all time, it's so detailed and just never gets boring.
My favorite Dopefish Xcom moment.

I love this game. So scary when it's down to the last man.
I really want to like this, but it's so hard to figure out what does what, and what to do in the beginning. anyone have some advice to give?
Shoot down UFOs, salvage the wreckage, research
Once you conducted enough research you can build UFOs yourself!

Laser weapons are best weapons.
Thanks, but i was hoping for more then that.

Mostly info about the in-game stuff nothing control-related
Speaking of detailed and never gets boring. I love X-Com but personally I'm much much more in love with Silent Storm series.
A game where you can sniper a nazi through 2 solid walls, kill him, have the bullet travel through his body, hit his nazi mate behind him in the helmet, bounce off of it and kill a third nazi that stood by the side, is automatically considered a work of art and to be made of pure awesomium.
Plus, nazi mecha suits and laser rifles.

silent storm is almost the perfect tbs for me. The engine was so advanced for his time. But it needs a RAM patch that doesn't disables some of the graphics
