Really great game.

I played that so much. :v:
Windows 7 64 Bit doesn't run this game, i still have it for the Original Xbox so it's not like i can't play it anyway.
Best game i've played with Telekinesis, second best being Second Sight.
It does, I'm running 64bit and the game works fine.
Fuuuu
got to 1.9 Gigs out of 2.4 gigs and the download failed.
goddamn, I remember having played a small demo of this for hours and hours on the ps2 back in the day
shame there wasn't a sequel, I remember seeing an interview saying something like "we've expanded features in the sequel immensely, like the ability to commit suicide when you're controlling a soldier's mind" etc
Reminds me of second sight on so many levels.

Holy fuck really? Shit sweet fuck yes WOO!

You could do that anyway. L3 + R3 held down long enough when you mind control a soldier and he blows his head off.
I downloaded this a few weeks ago, been playing it on and off, I must say this is a really awesome game. The gameplay and story is great.
OP should add some vids.

I like how Barrett's hair changes with each training session.

I loved Barrett's motivational comments when you fail.
"Would it help if I came down there and kicked you in the nuts!?"
Ahh, the memories.
I loved this game, mind control was completely unfinished but it still was the shit.
Make every mind controlled soldier commit suicide.
Make every mind controlled soldier commit suicide.
No, make them able to actually throw grenades.
Grenades were also the shit if you could mindcontrol a grunt that was just pulling one out you could actually throw it.

I never knew that and I kind of always wondered why you couldn't pull grenades out.
Pressing up on d-pad threw grenades.
I always renamed the shortcut to Opsi-Ops
I never knew that and I kind of always wondered why you couldn't pull grenades out.
I don't even remember being able to make a meatpuppet commit suicide on the XBOX Version of the game
It does, I'm running 64bit and the game works fine.
Did you have to do anything to get it to work?
Game had the best demo ever. Unlimited sandbox room.
Very late here, but there was a demo?
Unless you are referring to the practice room, which was crazy fun. I still say that this game has the most satisfying ragdoll physics I have ever seen/heard. It actually accomplished a lot of really cool shit you just didn't see back then, but it was too obscure and didn't have enough marketing for it to really have any sort of impact on gaming as a whole.
I still love just booting it up just to throw random engineers into stacks of barrels. I also like how they didn't program gibbing into the Aura View Monster things properly, so if you try to kill them with the giant ball in the practice room, the game just crashes. At least it does on PS2.
Also, does anyone know if you can make soldiers shoot themselves in the PC version? I kinda miss making them blow their brains out in front of a scientist and just seeing the scientist stroll by like nothing happened.

You can make the soldiers shoot themselves? I had it on Xbox for years and never knew you could do that.
I never did it, I just pitted them against other soldiers and had them die. Or I'd drop them down from roofs and stuff.

Nope, Just installed it and it ran fine.
Nope, Just installed it and it ran fine.
Where did you download it from?
Where did you download it from?
This, I installed it, ran it and all it did was run in the background, doing nothing. I almost hope I only had a bad installer.

Mines literally just finished installing now, I'll see if it works.

FUCK
[editline]25th April 2011[/editline]
Just got a "create cursor texture fail" error. Anyone know of a way to fix it?
[editline]25th April 2011[/editline]
Oooh, just found this
I resolved the "Create cursor texture" error. When you install the game, apparently it does not install it completely even though it says it is done. I checked the directory the game was installed in and found that it was only 10MB. I reinstalled the game and it was only 90MB. So I saw where it was temporarily storing the install files and before I continued with the install, I copied the 2.8GB directory to a different location. I cancelled the install and then ran the setup as Administrator from the folder I copied. This installed the game correctly and it runs great! I am running Vista 64-bit home premium, so it will run on Vista.
Just wish the twat specified WHERE he looked.
[editline]25th April 2011[/editline]
Bingo, might have found it in search-ms:displayname=Search%20Results%20in%20Temp&crumb=location:C%3A%5CUsers%5CJames%5CAppData%5CLocal%5CTemp\RarSFX0
It's not there for long though.
[editline]25th April 2011[/editline]
Okay, extracted it to a different folder, going to see how it goes when I install it now.
[editline]25th April 2011[/editline]
Fuck, the installer automatically opens up, and when I close it to extract it to the other folder, all the files including the installer dissapear.
[editline]25th April 2011[/editline]
Fuck, now it just isn't working.
[editline]25th April 2011[/editline]
Ah, here we go, think I found a solution. Just uninstalled the game then reinstalled using the new folder.
[editline]25th April 2011[/editline]
This should definitely work, it's taking longer to install which seems good.
[editline]25th April 2011[/editline]
Gah, what the fuck. It's still not working.
[editline]25th April 2011[/editline]
I give up.
Where do you guys download from?
