Yes, there's a buffer of one-two missions after you get the IFF, depending on how far into the game you are. If you get the IFF after doing everything, you can go straight to Legion's loyalty mission and then have the crew abducted when you finish it. If you do the IFF mission early, you can do a few missions before they get abducted.
Well, thanks for clearing that up, just started Arrival now, and then I'll most likely stop playing until ME 3 comes out, then do yet again a full play through of ME 1 & 2 & 3.
A small pet peeve I have with this game is ironically my favorite part, the major decisions while really awesome and I can't wait to see what they'll actually do in ME 3, makes me a bit pissed that I'm missing on alot of game content unless I do one million playthrough with all the possible outcomes (who dies in the first game, let the rachni live or die, death of your crew in the second game, death of characters in the suicide mission, and obviously I'm missing a crapload of major decisions).
[editline]1st April 2011[/editline]
Expected arrival to be longer, I finished it in less than an hour, it was okay I guess, I did rush it though, for some reason I felt I had to go fast so I was just running from cover to cover while filling everyone with lead, I also had my trusty shredder bullets who just kill anything at crazy speed.
Is the combat in Mass Effect 2 better then the first? I got really bored of the first one because of the combat and I was wondering if the second was improved enough that I would actually be able to finish it.
Pretty sure he has it throughout his entire body.
"What was I going to do, break my arm at them?
In ME1 he states its only in his legs iirc but they might have changed that for some reason.
Think I've found the spot in the ME2 INIs that chooses what power each class has, think I might make a super class...
Think I might go Infiltrator as the main power can't be changed and Assassin gives a scoped slowdown. Which other powers should I select?
So, I heard that doing the suicide mission and saving your crew gave a 50% death rate to your crew if you don't do it DIRECTLY after they're captured, is this true?
I remember in my first playthrough when my crew got captured, I for some reason still had legion's loyalty mission to do, so I guess 50% of my crew died?
This second playthrough for some reason I had every single missions and loyalty missions done by the time they got captured so I just went right to the suicide mission.
I did Legion's loyalty mission after the crew was taken, and when I went to rescue them, I only saved the Doctor and one other, can't recall who.

From what I understand, it's at tolerable levels in most of his body, but crippling in his legs. Also, Cerberus gave him some biomechanical implants at the beginning of ME2 to let him walk, albiet at a slow, painful shamble.
One question I've always had about him. How was he able to join the Alliance in the first place? If they're anything like real military organizations, you need to be physically fit. No heart conditions, no bone diseases, nothing.
They even cut my Great Uncle out of the USAAF because he had something in his eye that they couldn't identify. It didn't affect his vision or anything, so I don't see them letting someone with a major disability join.

It seems starships and whatnot are flown with the hands only, there doesn't seem to be any kind of pedals or whatever to use. Also, mass effect fields keep G-forces at tolerable levels and whatnot, hell, Shepard was able to stand behind Joker while he maneuvered around like crazy, so apparently it isn't that physically strenous.
Joker talks in ME1 about how the flight academy people ragged on him and he got the name Joker because he was so quiet and whatnot. However, he got the last laugh when he graduated at the top of his class. I guess his abilities as a pilot greatly outweigh any physical disabilities he might have.
"Why are there only four pedals when there are six directions!?"
well this is frustrating.
had to save and quit out of the kasumi mission, now when I try to resume game it won't do anything. Can't load the game. and the load says I'm in an Unknown location

Best for 1911 mode.
Nope. You have 1 mission before they'll die. That's perfect time to do Legion's loyalty mission. If you do more that 1 mission after the Reaper IFF mission, then the crew all die. So it's all or nothing.
Two missions. I did Legion's loyalty mission first, then Tali's with Legion on the team. The whole crew survived.
Should i grab arrival?
