Will it be a combustible lemon?

if it is then the house will burn down :saddowns:

He wants to see continual action in the background of some levels, such as (the example) apparently being a frigate that does a strafing run with it's GARDIAN lasers on enemy positions.

Ah I see, cheers mate.
Yeah, that'd be pretty cool.
I still want there to be gundams, or Knightmare frames

Or better yet, powered armor segments
It'd also be really busy.
Having shit going on in the background distracts you from what's going on in the foreground. Having shit going on and blowing up in the background works for action games like Call of Duty, but it doesn't help drive a cinematic experience like the Mass Effect games.
I mean, hell, look at the new Star Wars films. Classic example of why having a ton of "awesome" shit going on in the background isn't a good idea.

I rather enjoyed watching Tie fighter and X-wing do hardcore dog fights in background

I'm sorry, but if you expect the background to be quiet during a Reaper invasion you're going to be sorely disappointed.
I want to see some orbital bombardment, both from space and the ground

ILM is kinda funny that way. Like sticking a shoe (or was it a kitchen sink?) in the middle of a debris field at the end of Return of the Jedi.
Oh cmon, Marathon AIs are so much more awesome than Halo AIs.
Then burn it into ashes...then the ashes into dust...then the dust into air
Then Exterminatus on the air.

Cobweb thing not dark/thick enough

The DH model was a rough prototype. I doubt that it will be that thick in-game.
I kind of hope it will be exactly like the model, the model looks badass.

What's wrong with treading new ground in a franchise? I think that the cinematic, movie-like feel of Mass Effect would be driven further with fighting in the background...it'd make the game feel more intense, and would pull the player into the game more effectively.

Heavy combat in the background usually detracts from the enjoyment of the foreground, as the player compares what he see's to what he's doing at that moment.

How else are they gonna manage to make you escape Earth being attacked by Reapers without actually seeing the Reapers in the background towering over all of the buildings, tearing shit up? Force you to escape through the subway/sewers or something and maybe at one or two points have an enormous explosion, or a Reaper tentacle tear through the ground exposing the outside in a small area so that you can catch glimpses at what's going on?
I've been playing the suicide mission with my brother this morning. Then his girlfriend had to come over.
We've just at the bit before we enter the main reaper chamber.
Tali and Jack are already dead. I dont mind Jack being dead, but...
Tali... :smith:

I never experienced that part, where/when is it?

I can see why too much background action could be distracting, but I think if done right it makes the whole thing feel bigger and more immersive (not sure if that's the best choice of words but I think you can get my drift)
[editline]27th April 2011[/editline]
I mean if we're told that the Reapers are fucking shit up on the planet you are currently on, I wanna see evidence of that going on around you
I never experienced that part, where/when is it?
